This is scary (from the posted link):

  • A Muslim man in Iran cut off his 7-year-old daughter’s head because he suspected she had been raped by her uncle?
  • Many little Muslim girls have their genitals cut out – without anesthesia – in order to destroy their sexuality and make them “pure”?
  • Daughter and wife beating are routine in the Muslim world. Over 90 percent of Pakistani wives, for instance, have been struck, beaten, or abused sexually – for offenses like cooking an unsatisfactory meal, or for failing to give birth to a male child?
  • In Iran the legal age for marriage is nine years old, and in an Afghan refugee camp virtually all the girls over second grade were married?
  • Women who are raped in Muslim countries often end up being punished while the rapist gets off free?
  • All a man has to do to divorce his wife is say, “I divorce you” three times – and then she is a single woman without support and without her children, who are usually taken by the father?
Just how true are these facts?

These are very true if you go on youtube and type woman circumsition (dont know how to spell). You will see an interview in egypt of woman that absolutely condone it, they cut of the #######, they say itmakes the woman calm. interesting part is there was one man they interviewed he said that he was against it and he feels a husband and wife shoulld be able to enjoy each other, but his wife went behind his back and took their daughter to get it done.

And my family have told me to never go back to egypt or my relatives would kill me. ( I married a christian african-american man)

being a male Muslim....i think the behavior in some Muslim countries towards women is criminal and certainly, not sanctioned by Allah...but a control mechanism for crude and cruel people

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

this behaviour cuts a far wider swath than just male muslims, or muslim countries. a whole lot of men, in a whole lot of places, are going to have a lot to answer for someday, imo.

Women are dangerous. They are diabolically smart and devious and don't shy away from

using their sexual attractiveness and ruthless cunning to manipulate and demonise men

and get their own way.

Men figured it out a long time ago and kept women oppressed for millennia. It was only

when Western men had become spineless pussies that Western women had banded together

and, with an act of stunning super-intelligence, overturned millennia of subjugation in just

a couple of decades.

Muslim men, however, are not easily fooled. They know that women's liberation movement

will be their undoing and they are not going to let it happen.

So your way of making a stand as a muslim woman who loves being muslim is to publish articles from a site such as frontpagemag which is blatantly anti-muslim on this Off Topic forum which is known to have members who love to bash mulsims in general?

1) How exactly is this act going to help the ummah?

2) Do you really think that cultural influences do not exist in a country that is a melting pot of various cultures?

You do know that circumcision is not condoned in Islam and that it is practiced by people of all faiths in Egypt and other parts of the world right?

You do know that disgusting and cruel acts happen in all kinds of cultures by people who are of all kinds of different faiths, right?

Something doesn't add up here and I would just like some clarification. Thanks!

Enough is right. If you ask someone "how is this going to help the ummah" one more time I am going to barf. It's funny how you post your questions about Islam on Egypt Search then use VJ to pretend that you are knowledgeable. It really cracks me up!

Go Muslim Man!

The Quran, I believe, says that it applies equally to men and women. But, only men are allowed to interpret it, so guess who gets short shrift? Dressing modestly--for women the burhka (sorry for the spelling), for men--whatever. Put anybody in charge of anything and their personal beliefs/agendas will come out.
