Hi,

New member here.

Just getting started on the K1 process to bring fiance from Philippines.

Needless to say it all seems very intimidating and I am still in the early stages regarding whether to file myself or hire an attorney.

Would be great to hear from others who have brought their fiance here from the Phils.

Hello to everybody and happy holidays.

C

Hi craigr,

We hired an immigration atty. for my K-1 because we have no idea how to get around those evidences and the process itself. But looking back, had we known VJ (no kidding) awhile back, we could have managed without the immigration lawyer. We could have saved more money too and the processing time could have been shorter (the paralegal took 3 months to finally submit the entire K-1 application, since they have other clients and they are not as competent as we thought they would be). The guides here are really helpful and other members have valuable experiences, usually these come easier when you use the search button to search for specific topics. I can truly say VJ helped us get through with our AOS (we didn't hire an immigration lawyer anymore), even obtaining SS card, building credit history for me, buying cars, getting a DL etc.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you & your fiancee the best and good luck on your journey!

We live in SF Bay area.
