I just don't get how you could have lived on Earth for more than 20 years and have never once heard the name of the country of Hungary. Or not know that France is a country. I just can't imagine what it's like living with a mind like that. I mean, you have to be pretty stupid not to have absorbed that information SOMEWHERE.
Well not stupid - just ignorant. I can see how it could happen to a person if they lived in the midwest all their life, never left home and scraped through with a highschool education. ...
She's from the South, not the Midwest! And certainly stupidity is (rightly or wrongly) more a stereotype of the South than of the Midwest. Have you been to the Midwest?

I have. Wasn't impressed.

Some of it sucks. Kansas City is hands-down the single worst place I've ever been in the US, all things considered, and I'm including impoverished areas and Paramus, NJ. Luckily we've got Chicago, Minneapolis, Madison, St. Louis, and some lovely towns with great history. There are some really ugly parts of the Midwest though. I don't think it really works as a "region" per se.

Now what problem do you have with Paramus? :P

It's weird because I had a conversation with a colleague today, usual middle aged pissed off white guy, complaining that Paramus feels like a foreign country these days. Odd that Paramus would come up twice in one day.

He's been sleeping really poorly for like a year and a half and also snores, grinds his teeth and stops breathing in his sleep. So finally he's gone in for a study. Apparently treating his sleep disorders will help him stop being so tired all the time. (go figure)

I'm the same about needing a few hours of being awake -- but in my house -- to unwind. But I got home at 11:30, so, off to bed.

Indeed. Which is a very recent development - they built it less than a year ago.
