Good morning and happy Friday to everyone!!:thumbs:

We spent the day in Cairo yesterday. Weather was so perfect...blue skies and slightly warm. A great day for taking more pics and doing some last minute sightseeing. We hired a car and driver and I must say it was just fantastic! He picked us up at the apartment, spent all day with us taking us wherever we wanted to go and brought us back to Alexandria. No waiting around for taxi's and no crossing those horrible Cairo streets. Was kinda hard to see Cairo for the last time. Hope we can come back soon.

We will post more pics soon. Hope you enjoy them! :D

Have a good day and a great weekend.

Terrie,

Just to note that birthday's aren't really celebrated in Morocco - at least my husband said he had never heard or seen celebrations like here. In fact there's a lot of people who don't even know when there's is. Just something to think about.

But Happy Birthday from me :)

I remember Wadi and I had been dating for over a year and I asked him when my birthday was. He said June 28 instead of June 27, and I was pretty pissed off. Looking back on that now makes me laugh...he was pretty darn close! I'd be impressed if he knew it even now.

Oh, happy bday, Terrie!

THANK YOU TO ALL YOU WHO WISHED ME HAPPY B-DAY. NOT KNOWING ALOT ABOUT MOROCCO, MY HUSBAND TOLD ME THAT MEN DON'T CELEBRATE LIKE THE WOMEN DO. i DON'T KNOW. I'M JUST HAVING A ROUGH DAY, CAUSE MY BOYS ARE KIND OF ESTRANGED FROM ME, AND 19 YEARS TOMORROW MY MIDDLE SON DIED. SO MY BIRTHDAYS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A BIT HARD. SORRY DON'T MEAN TO GET ANYONE DOWN. Texas ain't so bad....

Yes, we get all 4 seasons in 7 days. This time last week it was 80, now its 40.

Oh, happy bday, Terrie!

My hubster is the same way. He remembers the month of my birthday, but pinpointing the date is beyond him, and we've known each other for 3 years. I used to get mad, but Ive learned its not worth it. As long as he remembers I have a birthday, thats good enough

Today was my last day at work. Im off for a good 4 months now :crying: . However, I did get a nice Christmas bonus, so that will help tide us over for a little while. It was quite a blessing because I wont get paid for any of my leave.

Happy birthday terrie! As everyone says, don't take it personally if your birthday isn't as big a deal as you expect, it's just the way the culture is. In order to avoid disappointment, I've taken to quizzing my husband multiple times as to when my birthday is and dropping hints as to what I want (I got this method from a friend of mine who's married to an american who is just as dense :P) It works, he knows what I want and we're both happy as a result.
