When do I tell my boss that I'm going to Philippines to pick up my wife and daughter...

Something tells me I will do it as soon as I get her Interview date..

If all goes well, I think your estimates are realistic. To save time, you can have your wife download the DS-230 now and get it fill out and sign Part 1, plus getting together the rest of the items that need to send with it.....copy of biometrics page from passport, birth certificate, NBI clearance, marriage certificate.....and send what she has to you so that you are ready to send it to NVC as soon as you get the notice. If all this goes well and you do get case complete by the 20th of Jan, the case should be sent to the embassy by the end of the month, and an interview scheduled in the last half of March. You should have 5-6 weeks from the time your interview is scheduled and the interview itself so that you can give your employer notice that you need to be off. Good luck.

thanks rjp44 i have all the papers for ds-230 nbi. poilce clearance, bio. from passport marrage and birth cert. and xerox copies for all i just want to send it all now

Wait for it to Generate and do the James Shortcut..

I kind a feel bad right now.. My DS-230 Generated on Nov 19th.. If I had sent it then, I could have got case complete right now.. Like the other VJ member I saw on the IR-Forum..

He sent his the 26th and got a case complete on the 11th.. I could have had the same outcome!!

Oh well I just sent my DS-230 couple a days ago and they just received it today.. I will be calling them monday to confirm receipt.. I just hope I get a case complete before the year end..

Wish me luck guys..

ya thats a bummer i have been doing the shortcuts i wanted to do one for IV bill but there is no short cut for it bummer dang nvc is slowing me down

You are still doing well though. It looks like the whole process is going to take about 10 months. Much better than those who filed a month or two behind you.

If you are using the James Shortcut, your timeline will look like this...

7-10 days from IV bill generation you will receive your IV Bill (12/19)

You send it Next Day Air (12/20)

Once received, it takes 2 days posting (12/28)

>>> Note: 12/24 and 12/25 is a holiday

Once IV Bill is posted, it takes about 3-4 weeks for the DS230 Generation (01/19)

>>> Note: Once you know that the DS230 is generated, send in all the DS230 information (Forms and documents)

Send it Next Day Air (01/21)

It takes about 5-7 days for it to be received and posted by NVC (01/28)

It may take 2-3 weeks for review, normally 10-14 days without RFE (02/10)

It seems to me that if my timeline prediction is correct, you will have a March interview. The point of the matter here is that you make sure that they get your DS230 and all documents approved by Feb 10th (cut off time), for them to include your application for the next month's interview (March)

Good luck on your journey!

~ Rina

PS. Let me know if you need help with the JSC 2.0. I used it from beginning to the end. It saved me at least 6-8 weeks
