The older I get, the more I think Mags is WAY hot.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Subjective, of course, but obviously we discussed this. We both feel that staying in shape is highly important and not just for looks. We want to have strength to enjoy an active lifestyle. My fiancée has been a competitive figure skater, dancer and theatre performer. And I have ran long distances my whole life. We both motivate each other to stay looking and feeling good. We would not be together if either of us were a coach potato. I doubt very much my fiancée will change her opinion at 55 any more than I would. We've had this attitude our whole lives.

As far as looks go, I think picking someone that is fairly close to your level of attractiveness is best, but far more important is you have to genuinely enjoy each others company and respect one another.

I personally feel I can ask no more of my fiancée then I ask of myself. So, if I stay in shape and try to look my best for her, she should too.

I'm just shaking my head at both these comments. "Someone fairly close to your level of attractiveness" - and since that is subjective, whose criteria are you basing that on?

As for looking your best for her so expecting her to reciprocate - well, that is subjective too, maybe her idea (and I don't mean your SO in particular) of 'staying in shape' is 10 jumping jacks a day and a twinkie. What if at the beginning of a relationship you both go to the gym every day together but when she turns 55 she decides it's not as much fun as it used to be and gains 30 lbs, is that a deal breaker?

The mother, surprised, smiles and answers, "Well dear, a man goes through three phases. In his 20s, his willy is like an oak tree - mighty and hard. In his 30s and 40s, it is like a birch - flexible but reliable. After his 50s, it is like a Christmas Tree."

"A Christmas Tree?"

"Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are just for decoration."

Base it off whomever is involved in the relationship. When someone looks like a supermodel and their partner looks like a street person looking for a fix of heroin it doesn't look right.

If the guy weighs 300lbs+ and the girl is slim and in shape that looks strange too.

Looks by themselves are subjective and I'm not saying massive disparity in physical attraction is an automatic deal breaker, but I'm personally more comfortable with a girl near my level of attractiveness with a wonderful attitude and personality vs., some supermodel who is a nag and nasty to be around.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
