Well, it's the start of week 23 for me and things are going well. The doctor appointment went well. She said not to worry about not feeling the baby move. My placenta is forward lying and on top of the baby. She also said I started out with a few extra layers of adipose tissue and it will be a while yet before her kicks are strong enough to feel. So you ladies were on the mark there. My diabetic diet is working ok so far but I really, really, really miss my sweets. I'm not sure if I mentioned in my previous post but I now gestitional diabeties. The only thing I really crave is chocolate. My mom is diabetic and she said I can eat her dark chocolate-which has no taste so I kindly declined. Otherwise things are good. I keep checking in daily to see if anypne's delivered yet. Not much longer for Tracy and nannygirl.

Oh no, I was just talking to CHNST in the German forum, how we need our icecream and snickers bars...hang in there. Kudos to you for pulling through with it.

@Chnst: Adam never dropped. I was hoping he would but he didn't. some babies don't drop until you are actually in labor so hang in there to you too.

Neither of mine ever really dropped either. It sure makes breathing difficult those last couple of weeks! Hang in there :)

Sending good vibes to Tracy and Nannygirl .... hope the delivery comes soon :)

Well, we had the ultrasound today and .......

I'M HAVING A BOY!!!!!!

So my intuition was correct after all :) Although the chart that Eveline linked me to was wrong ... LOL!

Congrats on the baby boy!!!

Shauna and Tracey all the best with delivery soon.

Question:

When should I get a pediatrician? The baby is covered under my group individual plan for 60 days and then I will be switching her to my husbands plan. For my plan I must go to doctors in a town 45 mins away from us. For hubbies plan she can stay in town. Do I get a pediatrician for 2 months and then switch her to a different one?

Met Jan 1998, vows on 2006, Jay Jay born 2008, baby 2 - 2011

Look at time line for visa information

ask your ob/gyn if he can recommend a pediatrician, then find out if your insurance covers the doc. That worked great for us, our pediatrician will even go to the hospital where I deliver to do the first check ups, then 1 week after the delivery we go to the first appointment at his office.

we checked out his office 2 weeks ago and they were extremely nice.

@Anne, you keep writing about two children. Do you have another baby? I'm sorry, maybe I just get your posts wrong but you've posted in several forums that you've had two pregnancies and miscarriages. If you don't want to answer and this is too private, that is ok, I'm just curious.

@Chnst: Your belly is so cute and it looks totally different from my 40week belly with Adam. You almost look like baby dropped but then again, I don't know what it looks like when baby drops

Here's my 40 week picture with Adam...I still don't know how I managed not to fall over forward all the time. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x244/Ev.../Belly/cedc.jpg

your belly pics are so cute!!!! i have stretch marks...yuck!!! and when i take a pic they show up like sparkles...

jax i would start looking for a pediatrician asap!!! because they typically are called to the hospital when the baby comes so they can come and check out the little one and say everything is ok...and if you need a c section at least this is what i was told...they HAVE to be there at a c-section....i would go to the one that is coverd for now...but also call the one that you want to switch to to make sure the are excepting new patients and at least go to look at it and get a folder ready for when you transfer.....or call both and see what either recomend!
