Thanks Yassmine! Hairties are a good idea, I keep losing them all the time... Amazing how much stuff I will need for just a few days! I'm notorious for overpacking, hope I can fit everything in the duffle bag I was planning to bring.

Hubby and I installed our car seat yesterday. It's a convertible infant-toddler seat, but when we installed it in full recline it looks like it's waaayyyyy to upright for a newborn to ride in it without his head flopping around. It also seems like there is just not even enough room to put him into the seat.

I had a full blown pregzilla- temper- tantrum because that was so frustrating! Do you have any advice how to fix this? :help:

also hubby threw the box away that it came in :bonk: , do you think we can exchange the seat without the box? I still have the receipt.

What kind of carseat do you have (what brand?). We put a towel under Adam's convertible seat kinda like here the noodle thing http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w95/pat...ff/S8000379.jpg (we have a Graco comfort sport) and reclined it to where it was still barely legal. Adam's head was flopping a lot. I brought those things at Babies R Us. http://babyhuggs.com/library/NeckWings.jpg but Adam hates them. He's old enough now to hold up his head while sleeping but before that I felt so sorry for this little noggin flopping around or hanging down by his knees.

hey, thanks for the advice with the towel! That makes sense! I'll have hubby try this first thing in the morning!!

It's an evenflo car seat. It's one of the more expensive ones because it had good reviews and I thought we couldn't go wrong with that thing....

Thanks for the link to the neckwings I will think about them. it'sjust that our baby will be born in the summer and I'm worried that they will be too hot and that he'll hate them too and then eventually hate me for being a bad mother and start doing drugs and turn out gay or something.... Ok I'm getting carried away... thanks again for the advice!

Youll need something to support his head probably. I didnt think about this and had to buy one after we got home. They make lots of different little 'head bunting' do-dads and many come in breathable fabrics with venting.

We got our crib today. A co-worker's DIL was selling the crib her 2 year old used. Hubby and I went and looked at it, felt it was in great condition and really sturdy, so we got it!!! This is a link to the crib we got. It is the same color as in the pic, except ours does not have the contrasting trim at the top.

I am feeling so relieved that at least we have one big item now .... next comes the stroller/carseat :)

Well, if baby wants you'd still have about 3 long weeks to go or even longer. Good luck, I can understand your patience. I would have given anything for some kind of 'movement' like water breaking, baby dropping or - and how unthinkable is that? - LABOR...

Tracy, I'm rooting for you. Anyday now might just be THE day. I hope everything goes well. You'll get through it somehow. Enjoy those last days with your husband alone.

I decided to pick up the cloth diapering again. Adam has a terrible diaper rash since he's getting abx again (ear infection no. 5) and also I think he's getting his molars and must be in terrible pain. He's refusing to eat and poops like crazy. Well, now he's got the rash and I had him walk around in cloth today and figured, why not. I'm getting new covers and some snappies and off we go. I'm really excited about it.:dance:
