awww Evi thanks for sharing that. So there's hope out there for me. :star:

I stopped gaining weight for the last week but I am at 42 pounds now. can't wait to start breastfeeding!

Michelle: Welcome! I think I gained the first 5 pounds within minutes of reading the positve pregnancy test.

I had weeks when I gained a lot and then there were weeks when I didn't gain anything. I do eat like there's no tomorrow though.....

Enjoy your pregnancy!

@Michelle: Enjoy your pregnancy and congratulations.

@Chnst: You're welcome. I was amazed at how fast the weight came off and went shopping for summer clothes after 6 weeks or so. i couln't wait and DH got me an Old Navy Gift card so I had to 'blow' that. It was basically screaming for me to take it to the store and spent all the money  .

@Everybody who's had more than one child so far. DId anyone of you tandem nurse? I'm trying to wean Adam off the breast but I doubt that it will be of any success within the next 4/5 months. He needs his nighttime nursing and I don't want to take that from him. I'm sure he'll want to nurse more once he sees the new baby nurse. What is your experience AND when I still have milk for ADam, does my body make colostrum anyway? I have no idea how that works. Will the new baby get milk for a one year old (since it changes in texture etc.) or will Adam have to drink the colostrum...Hmm, somehow I feel like a soda machine right now, just push the lever and we'll see what comes out

From what I understand, near the end of the second trimester, your milk will dry up and be replaced with colostrum. Then when the baby is born, the milk will come back in for the baby.

Oh wow Ladies, thank you. Well, if my milk dries up, maybe that would be a good start for the night wean. I guess I'll have to send DH off in the middle of the night to give Adam a sippy cup with water or milk. I hope it won't take too long for him and I feel sorry for taking the BFing away from him but what can you do right?

He may want to continue anyway. Not all kids want to wean when the milk changes. Up to them.

That is a pretty good website. They apparently also have the same info in German, if you are interested.

I had kellymom in my favorites until we moved. I forgot all about that site. We'll see what Adam does in a couple of weeks. I'll let him decide whether he want's to wean or not.

Michelle welcome and congrats on your little one!!

Shauna thanks I will ask the doctor tommorrow what the pain is. Hopefully he will give me a date for the C-section.

I want to clean so bad today but I keep waddling like a Grandma. Grocery shopping and ordering my new passport got me all pooped out.

Met Jan 1998, vows on 2006, Jay Jay born 2008, baby 2 - 2011

Sounds like you're nesting...one of the first signs that labor is somewhat close  . Good luck, you still have a few weeks.

Thanks for the welcome ladies.. it seems like some of you guys are ready to give birth soon.. congrats! I still have a long ways to go

I know, anticipation is 'killing' me this time around. Can't wait to meet that baby but I think it's good you're pregnant for 9 months. It's all part of it, haha.
