I've been reading all your posts ladies and have to say that I'd take back pain over morning sickness. I thought that after week 14 it would go away but it got worst. I was really surprised at how bad it was. I'm not a small lady by any means but even my doctor was concerned because I had lost weight from my inital visit with her at 14 weeks. Up untill now (I'm 21 weeks now) I didn't even look pregnant. Now I just look like I've put on weight in my mid section. I'm looking forward to the day I pop out.

I worry thought because I haven't really felt any kicks or movements. I know the baby is a live because one of the doctors I work with did an ultrasound for me at 18 weeks. I guess it's a small perk to work in a hospital in Nova Scotia. My next ultrasound is on the 25th. I'm hoping the baby has his/ her legs wide open and I can tell if it's a her or a him.

I've also started to buy things now too. I can't believe how much I still have to get. I'm kind of stuck- I'm not sure if I should buy my things from Target or Walmart. What do you guys think? I bought my stroller and basinet in Nova Scotia but it's the rest of the things I have to get. Did anyone find the task of buying everything over whelming. I have no idea what to get. All of my coworkers have different opinions. Has anyone bought or heard of the baby monitor that's a pad on the crib that monitors the baby's breathing?

Married August 21 2004 in Nova Scotia!

October 19/04 sent I-130.

May 19/08 Perm Resident Card arrives.

Oh my, you ladies have only gained 10 to 15 pounds (how did you do that??!) and you wonder how you will get back to your prepregnancy shape? ?

I've gained 40 pounds and I feel hideous compared to you... I was always on the skinny side though,so I'm not too worried about losing it after the baby is born.

my back pain got a lot better with exercise and hot showers.

@new Orleans bound:

I've registered with babies R' Us. You can go online and look at the ratings for things like a monitor or a car seat.

I wasn't sure what to register for, since there are just so many options for everything! We ended up getting everything with the best reviews and we are happy so far with all the stuff that we got.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a monitor that monitors baby's breathing unless you have a premie or a high risk baby (SIDS).

If you really want one, I'd ask a pediatrician for a recommendation. My friend bought a cheap one from a catalog and the alarm went off for no reason, so she eventually got rid of it, and her baby is just fine.

To date, I've gained 15 pounds. I was wondering the same thing about how long it may take to be back to "normal" after giving birth. I plan to breastfeed, and I've heard that it helps to shrink the uterus back pretty quickly to regular size.

My back pain becomes almost unbearable when I'm standing upright or walking for an extended period of time (which is only about 15 minutes, now), and the only relief I find is by sitting down.

My amazing, wonderful mother helped me get everything ready in the nursery today. It's so completely precious!!! I can honestly say that we are truly ready for our baby...

i am happy to report my back pain has almost gone away....SO happy about that....it was horrible for the first couple of days.... Like you though if i stand for a long period of time it hurts....

i would say i have gained about 15 pounds...my last appointment i lost 2 pounds....but we shall see what happens this Thursday after all the Easter candy...:innocent:

I have gained about 7 pounds. But I am a big lady and shouldn't gain to much. The pain is getting worse each day for me. Especially in the lower area. It was rough trying to sleep last night. Maybe its cramping I don't know what its suppose to feel like.

Everyone have a wonderful Easter!!!

Hi ladies, just wanted to introduce myself, I discovered baby's corner last week and have been reading without participating. You ladies are very informative. I just started the K1 process and just hoping my fiance is here for our baby's birth.

Anyway I'm 11 weeks pregnant and have already gained about 6 pounds!!! yikes.. I'm starting to worry.. I was thin pre-pregnancy so I didn't think I would start gaining weight so soon.. and as far as pain. I have been cramping since I was 6 weeks :(

Hi Nannygirl,

Yes I did talk to my doctor and she said not to worry about it unless there is bleeding along with the cramps, which I haven't had. Also the cramping is usually not intense.

He is soo excited....he's only sad he can't be here to go to the appointments with me and what not.. I told him don't worry you will make up for it when you get here ;)

TRACYYYYYy....you go girl. I'm rooting for you. I wanted to strangle DH when he told me that he drove over our phone cable with his brandnew John Deere and screwed it up....arrrgh...I thought I missed things but I'm glad to see that baby is still inside you.

As for the weight gain...I gained a whopping *whisper whisper* 50!!! lbs with Adam (sugar cravings were ridiculous at around 40 weeks I just HAD to eat everything sweet) and was back to a size 4 after 3 months. I breastfed like crazy. Well, Adam wanted to eat like crazy and that really helped me. Alone after the birth I was 15lbs less (with a 9lbs baby) and then dropped 3 lbs every week. I didn't lose all the weight until after 6 months but my goal was fitting in my pants again and I achieved that. Didn't even work out too much. I think it really was the BFing.

So far, I have gained 13lbs (at 20 weeks) and I'm HOPING that I won't gain as much as with Adam. I'm eating better and really have to pull myself together.
