So I thought it was standard practice to be scheduled for an ultrasound at 37 weeks, but my doctor made no mention of this yesterday. She was very confident of the the position of the baby, and my pregnancy is low-risk...should I not expect another u/s?

I don't think so. I asked my Dr after our 20 wk US if we would get any more and she flat out told me no, not unless a complication were to arise.

@Stina: I was thinking about getting the rainforest soother for No2. With Adam we had a VTECH one and also I bought a Baby Einstein Soother but both were so loud and you couldn't really adjust the volume so I was wondering if the rainforest one was quiet enough and adjustable especially when yuo have another person sleeping in the same room as baby.

I didn't have any U/S late in my pregnancy either. The last one was at 25 weeks to look at stuff they missed at the 20 week u/s.

I haven't tried it yet overnight, we just have it on sometimes when he lays in the crib during the day(he's in the bassinet and stroller still at night). It does have a lot of setting options though...3 volume levels, you can just have nature sounds, or nature sounds mixed with music, and then you have the option on whether the animals move or stay still too. I think it's really cute.

Congrats Vernon Family!

I will be having one at 37 weeks but this is because I am high risk. The doctor has to then decided C-sectopn or not

Vernon Family - Welcome and congrats!

Tracy - I am having another ultrasound at 32 weeks, but honestly, I think the doctor only ordered it because I was so pitiful about wanting to know the sex and pretty much begged him :) LOL

Nannygirl - Vent away ... I totally understand back pain. I am experiencing it too. At first, it was just the sciatica, but in the last week or so, my central lower back has really started to hurt. For me, taking a nice hot shower (not TOO hot though) at night before bed helps it feel better.

I had the funniest experience today with baby kicking. I have been carrying really low and generally the baby kicks are right above my pubic area (sorry, don't know how to describe it otherwise). Today, the baby kicked me low but at the same time, I felt a sharp pain in my ribs. Is that the baby too???

Tracy - I'm only 28 weeks along but I had a 4-D scan done last week by the hospital that is delivering my baby and then at 30 weeks I'm having another scan by my doctor. She said that between 30 - 36 weeks I probably won't have one. But we'll have one at 36 - 38 weeks to get a final look at Nikki before she arrives.

Autumchik - Nikki does that to me too! but for me her kicking in the "lower area" isn't very common. However, sometimes I feel her kick my right side (where she always kicks) and then its like a wave I feel another kick at my upper left side and down there at the same time. It's very strange!! She used to kick at the same time on both the left and the right and I never understood what she was doing. During my scan last week she did it again and we saw she was hiccuping and the doctor said its common. They have no coordination so that just have little jolts, it was very cute!!

Do showers really help you? I can't shower at night because it seems to wake Nikki up. If I bath I can sleep through the night, but the couple times I have chosen to shower instead she seems to get burst of energy and kick her little heart out.
