They moved Lira's due date from July 4th to July 14th. So far everything seems to be fine. Dannielle is on her way. :)

Hi Eveline.

Are you going to be 20 weeks when you go for your Big Ultrasound on the 26th? I'm going to be 21 weeks when I go for mine on the 25th. I think you're lucky to get to find out the sex of your baby. Here in Nova Scotia they don't tell you. I have to wait until I give birth. I really wish they did gender ultrasounds at the hospital. Oh well. what's another 20 weeks, right.

Married August 21 2004 in Nova Scotia!

October 19/04 sent I-130.

April 17/08 finally arrive back in New Orleans after 3 years and 8 months.

May 19/08 Perm Resident Card arrives.

July 24/08 Reapply for a new SS card with married name.

August 4/08 Baby daughter born.

I think I'm gonna be 20 weeks and a couple of days (so basically 21 weeks). I would die if they didn't tell me the gender. Both, DH and me are just WAAAAAYYYYYYy too curious to not find out. I just hope baby cooperates with us.

Those of you with C-Sections: how did you manage the pain? What kind of drugs did they give you and did they work?

How long did you stay in the hospital? was your baby in the nursery or with you at all times?

So with a C-section you will stay in the hospital a little longer for recover.

Thanks Yassmine for making me feel a little better about a C-section.

No problem Belwin :)

I was given IV morphine for the first 24 hours and then Norco tablets for the rest of my stay. I was also given a scrip for Motrin and Norco to take home and Ive been on them since I came home. I had alot of trouble laying on my side because of pain, so Ive been on the pain medication longer than I expected. But its gradually getting better and I dont have to take it as often.

I gave birth on a Monday at lunchtime and I was released the following Thursday at about lunchtime.

I kept the baby in the room with me almost all day, he only left for checkups and whatnot. At night he stayed in the nursery and was brought to me to breastfeed whenever the nurses saw him giving feeding cues. Personally, having the nurses take care of him during the night was VERY helpful to me and made a huge difference in the amount of rest of I got. More rest helped me feel better physically and emotionally.

hope the baby stays still....when i went for mine the baby was NOT cooperating at all.....the tech was kinda getting mad..i said what can i do i can't help it.....the baby would hide under my belly button and when she did that they couldn't see her....that happend a lot  She finally stayed still enough for them to see that she was a girl....at least i pray they are right....or the little boy will be rockin pink....

Hehehe .... at my 18 week ultrasound, my baby didn't move at all, just lay there chillin'. Of course, when we went to the doctor's appt. right after, baby was moving all over the place!

New Orleans Bound, I am curious .... why don't they tell you the gender of the baby at the ultrasound? Is that a Canadian thing or just specific to Nova Scotia?

autumnchick....I'm so excited for you and the upcoming U/S! For me and hubby, it was a glorious experience. Really hoping your baby will cooperate...

Brief update: Husband is home and we are quite well. He was amazed at how big I've gotten. We had a fantabulous baby shower on Saturday, and spent all day yesterday preparing baby's room (L) The 2 of us couldn't be happier or more excited about our very soon-to-be little boy's arrival.

So I was wondering...am I the next one in line?

Tracy, I am so happy for you that everything worked out just fine in the end. I'm sure you still have some talks to talk and some more stuff to work out but I'm glad your husband 'came to his senses' and is back with you and your baby.

For your question...I think YES, you are the next in line.
