I know this has little to do with babies, but I just needed to say this somewhere where I have support: Luis decided not come home this weekend as scheduled. He said he needed a few more days...that the situation he went into was bigger than he was able to handle during this "short" time away. So we changed his ticket to allow him 5 more days. But I honestly don't believe he's coming back.

The physical, emotional, and financial torment this is causing, I'm afraid, will inevitably negatively impact our unborn child. I am at a loss as to how I can deal with this feeling of abandonment/rejection and not cause harm to my baby.

If there are those who believe in prayer, we are in desperate need of a few.

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

Tracy, as mentioned before, I don't know your situation but I'm so very sorry for what's happening right now. If your husband is not coming back, does that mean he would leave you in the US with his (your) child or would you consider moving to Peru to continue there? As much as I can understand his situation (I guess he just learned that he had a son he didn't know about for a long time) you need his help, support and just him being there so much right now. I remember just how much I needed Eric in the end. Not just for putting on my shoes but just for being there to support me in whatever is happening.

I'm wishing you all the best. Wait those five days, maybe he'll be back. I'm sorry I can't give you advice but if you need to vent...you know where to go.

i am so sorry to hear that...i know it is hard...my husband and i are "taking a break" so the last couple of months i have had to do by myself with out him...thankfuly i moved closer to my family so i have their support which is great...but is not the same as having him around..... do you have any friends family in the area that you can call on to help or give you support??? just try to stay strong think good things about having this child and what joy this child will bring you....best wishes....

Ladies, I respect you for being so strong and handling your current situations so well. I don't know what I would do if my husband and I ever decided to take a break.

All the best to you.

On a lighter note. I'm 18 weeks along and my 'babygirl' is kicking the ####### out of me. I hadn't felt her in two days or so and was getting worried but this morning...oh boy, she sure is away and thumping away

You will still feel something that feels like kicks. I had that a lot for a long time (about 6 mo) after ADam was born. It felt like baby was kicking but probably was gas and all your intestines sliding back where they are supposed to or so...

Tracy, I am so sorry for you and am hoping that the extra 5 days will give him a little more of what he needs there and then he will come home to you. Don't ever worry about posting this here, it DOES have to do with babies, because your emotional state is just as important as all the physical stuff going on with pregnancy. Much love going out to you (L)

Praying for you. (F) I know he has a lot going on in Peru, but I am sure you still feel horrible about this all. I would be so mad and hurt also. *hugs* If it makes you feel any tiny bit better, you are far along enough that even if stress caused something like pre-term labor, the baby should be fine. I know that's not something you even want to think about but just wanted to add that. I hope your husband comes back in 5 days like he says he will and everythign smooths out. You don't deserve to be having to deal with this right now, no matter what reasons he is in Peru, you should be the main priority right now being 5 or less weeks away from having a baby. (F) I am sure you have told him that!

That's funny...I haven't experienced it. I thought I would though!

If it has anything to do with YOU, then it has everything to do with your child. (F) Im praying for the good Lord to give you and your husband strength and peace during this difficult time. I hope He will soothe your hearts and guide you both into a quick and pleasant resolution to the problems you face. I ask Him to ease the stress on both your minds and hearts so you can have a happy healthy pregnancy and birth.

If your baby is anything like mine, you'll still get plenty of kicks and punches after he's born. When mine is hungry, he's a regular boxer. :)

Tracy... I'm so sorry about your situation and I understand how hurt and disappointed you must be right now. But please try to stay positive! I'm sure Luis will come home to you, once he has figured things out in Lima. Both you guys have a lot on your plates right now and I don't know how I'd cope if something like that came up in my homecountry. But I'm sure he hasn't forgotten about his wife and his baby here in the US!

Please keep us updated and hang in there! (F)

My husband just called...sobbing...extremely regretful for what he's been doing to me and our unborn child. He realized that he really messed up. Most importantly, he finally realized how badly he's been hurting me and what effect that can have on our baby. I thought he would never come to his senses. Thank God he finally woke up.

I don't know how to thank all of you for your very encouraging, kind, and supportive words and prayers. I didn't expect Luis to grasp what he was doing until he actually came home, and I am beside myself with gratitude that his eyes were opened sooner. I actually almost believe now that he'll come home Friday like he promised.

Maybe I'll finally get some sleep tonight. All of you are Angels in my eyes. My son thanks you, too (L)
