Thanks so much for the encouragement. I guess it all depends on how well Luis copes with being here after all he's been through the last 2 weeks. He's a pretty sensitive guy and I'm really scared that these circumstances may alter his perspective in an unhealthy way. My greatest hope is that when our child is born, he'll regain the faith and perspective he needs to have some peace of mind.

It may take a while, but I have to believe that we'll be ok again.

I am so tired too!! UGH

I am not getting a shower because my Aunt and Uncles mother went to the nursing home and they aren't expecting her to live long. She is in her 90's. It is understandable and I pray that her mother inlaw will be taken care of in heaven.

wow jax...i hope you feel better....keep tabs on your temp!!!

sorry to hear about you aunt and uncles mom....hope everyone will be at peace....

Thanks Shauna.. I am keeping track. I called the emergency room nurse to see what to do. I have to wait until tom morrow for results and I need to talk to my nurse about my symptoms. They said there is nothing they can do to treat this fifth disease. That if I did test positive that I should have an ultrasound. I still just think I have the flu. She is kicking me a lot so I am sure she is fine. I think I worry to much...

that'e me i worry allllllll the time about things not to worry about....oh well it runs in the family... keep us posted on your results!! feel better!

Dude the nurse called me today and said she had the results but she could not tell me. My doctor had to call me to tell me and he was not in. Dude. How many of you have a number where you can call a doctor or nurse at night if your feeling sick. I am going to ask when I talk to him. I can't get anyone at the office after 4pm it stinks. At least today I feel good enough to finally eat and keep it down.

are you for real??? she couldn't tell you the results?? the nurse always called to tell me the results of anything....i called once when i was really sick and they never called me back.....i thought what is a 24 hour service for if they never call back....makes me crazy....

The nurse finally gave me the results today. I don't know why she couldn't of given me the results yesterday!! UGH... So I don't have fifths disease but I am not immune to it. So if there is an outbreak at school then I need to go home right away. I will be emailing the nurses at work on Monday to let them know.

What's up my pregnant peeps? Someone getting in a few naps for me? :)

:lol: I will be taking my nap in a few minutes I am so tired after I get done with work.

No, I don't think so. But he has a child there. And his sick twin brother. And he just feels like he'll be abandoning them, in a sense.

Ohh, how many of you guys are going back to work after a few months off??

Originally I was going to go back 8 weeks after the birth, but Im having second thoughts. I was forced on to early maternity leave at 7 mos and Ive really gotten used to being home. I much prefer being Suzie Homemaker so Im looking for something I can do from home to make a little money. Going back to the office would require me to put Mehdi in daycare (something I dread) and the cost would almost cancel out my take-home pay.

Gosh, I can see how it would be hard to go back to work after such huge changes!!

My husband and I have decided that I would stay home as long as possible!

But it will be hard too!

Oh Tracy, I am so sorry to hear about what is going on .... I hope that when Luis returns, things will sort themselves back to normal ... and in the meantime, pamper yourself extra. Hugs to you :)

AJames ... I am planning on taking 12 weeks off and then I have to return to work (I have a contract with the National Health Services Corps and I HAVE to finish it!). After that, we are going to look at finances and see if I will work part or full time.

IMO, if you can afford it, stay home with baby. I know a girl who said...no big deal, I'll go back to work after six weeks...Oh well, she quit her job after all and is home with her baby girl. It is really hard. The first time I left ADam for longer than one hour was when he was 11 months old to go to the mall. My parents watched him (the only people I really trust besides my husband) and it was tough. I was constantly thinking about him...crazy.

@Tracy, I haven't read up on your story (about your DH and son etc.) but I'm wishing you and your family all the best.

Tracy-Wow, I'm sorry you are going through a stressful time. :(

Ajames-I stay at home...but I know it can be very hard to do financially. We are blessed that hubby's job is enough to pay everything and I don't have to work.

I have left Kavi already for 2 hours even though he's 5 weeks old. :P I had my 6 week postpartum appt(tho it was only 5 weeks postpartum) and left him home with my mom so they didn't have to wait forever in the waiting room. Good thing because I was gone for 2 hours. I've left him a couple times for going to the store too. I can't imagine leaving him all day though, I feel bad that hubby has to! He misses Kavi so much while at work.

you guys are great giving me advice!

I appreciate it!

As of right now, I'd be able to stay at home. I keep up with the paper work from the business but I'd mostly get to be home. But things can always change!

Well all these baby pictures are so cute! You guys have beautiful children! I think I am in baby mode a little...so I might go out and get a book and start reading up...

Alright all you mommies, mommies to be, etc etc...

Husband and I are talking JUST talking about having a baby.

I've been following your threads for quite sometime, in and out.

I know that you should go to the Dr. for a checkup...and see if you are ready...

But how did you guys know that you were ready? How did you prepare mentally and most importantly how did you prepare financially? Did you just bite the bullet and hope for the best? Did you have a nest egg? How well did your insurence help you out?

This is what scares me the most. Can we afford this...

My husband and I had been together for 9 years. We decided when he got here we wanted to try to start having a family. We had talked about the matter seriously for many years on how many kids we wanted and how much they would cost. We now fianacially it would be hard but we know babies don't need to much material stuff. My parents are really supportive too. We have a emergency fund in place if something bad was suppose to happen like me going on bed rest and having to take off more work than expected. Luckily we planned to have her at the right time. We were shooting for late spring or summer. I am a teacher and will get the summer off. I am fortunate to get paid for my leave because I had collected enough sick days. I will be returning to work in August. I have to my husband goes to college full time and works part time at nights. We won't be having any more children until he graduates college because we know we won't be able to afford. We are thinking she maybe our only child. Insurance is a lot at my work under the family plan so I have been calling around. I think I have found the right deal of $231 a month for my hubby and her. If I went with my work insurance we would pay $500 for all three of us a month. The single rate for me is great at $65 a month. So we will be saving a couple hundred each month. I just filled out quotes online and they called me with the info and sent it to me in the mail. My brothers girlfriend will be babysitting our little one for cheap. I think she said as long as she had money for beef jerky she was cool.  The bonus is that little Jaylyn will be spending time with her first cousin Brooke who is 2. So they will have buddy time.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I finished cleaning the first floor of our town home but now I feel so tired. I would like to keep going and going but my pelvic area is in pain. Yikes.

I am taking that wonderful list with me tomorrow and going bargain hunting with my brothers girlfriend it should be great. Oh and I found a pack and play on sale at target for 55 dollars. So I picked it up.

Hey everyone :) I am back home and in the land of a faster Internet connection, so am much more inclined to post here now ...

AJames, for us, one of the deciding factors for when we began trying for a baby was my husband's age. He is 44 now (43 when we began trying) and his biological clock was ticking. I am 33 now (32 when first trying) and I wanted kids too but was not feeling as much pressure agewise. I went off birth control after our church wedding in April 2007. I honestly thought it would take me awhile to conceive, since I was so irregular after I stopped the pill. I really thought we would have to try for a year or so and then try fertility meds. Boy, was I wrong! We conceived at the end of August / beginning of September. I am ecstatic to be pregnant, but timingwise, if I could do it again, I would have waited a few more months. I have a contract with the National Health Services Corps for student loan repayment. My 2 years of service was due to be up at the end of August. Because I am due at the end of May, I will take maternity leave and then have to return to work fulltime to complete the contract. As for finances, I definitely worry (I think all mommies to be worry!), but am putting money aside each month so that we will have the equivalent of 3 months salary saved plus the health insurance that I will have to pay out of pocket. As for supplies, I am planning on getting the essentials (and have been given/loaned several things already which helps) ... and avoiding the items I would like to have but are not necessary.
