my hubby and I are seriously considering adopting a child... but it won't be for another year or two...

I was watching this movie Martian Child and it just hit me that I wanted to adopt a child....

we just want to be parents and I think it would be cool to raise and love a child who might not have a loving home otherwise....

I was just thinking today that I know three couples who adopted and got pregnant during the adoption process! One of them had her baby three days before her adopted baby was due.

I was thinking while watching the movie that instead of bringing our own life into the world we should give a home to one that is already here...

I don't know if I will ever want to try again... right now it is a no... I couldn't go through another failure.. the last one almost ripped my heart out..

hubby did bring adoption up back in January sometime but I didn't really give it any thought but now I really think I want to adopt....

My sister cant have kids so she and her husband have been kicking around the adoption idea for a couple of years now, particularly international adoption. The way she explains it is to say "I dont need my DNA in a child to be a parent". So true. Parenting is so much more than conceiving and being pregnant and Marilyn I am sure you two will be wonderful parents to at least one very very lucky little one.

I have had the flu for the past couple days. Then I found out there were 2 outbreaks of fifths disease at my work place. So I went to have my blood work drawn and I will find out the results today. I am not to scared because I am in the last trimester. I am thinking I have already had it too because I have been working with kids for 7 years. Has anyone ever been around fifths when they were pregnant?

I am not getting a shower because my Aunt and Uncles mother went to the nursing home and they aren't expecting her to live long. She is in her 90's. It is understandable and I pray that her mother inlaw will be taken care of in heaven.

i think that is great!!! there are so many babies and kids that are in need of a good home and a great family!!

Awww Tracy .... I know what you mean about the fatigue

We have been having a great time in Florida .... went to Sea World yesterday, which was a lot of fun, but honestly, the walking around was difficult. My mom tells me she thinks I am having more trouble walking because I am carrying so low.... and of course, there is the sciatica My hubby and mom were great, stopping frequently for me to sit down. It was a little pitiful though, when the 80 year old lady with the walker passed me!!! LOL

Belwin Mills ... sorry to hear about you not getting a shower. Have you talked to your mom about how you feel and asked why she says that?

I may not have a shower either and was kind of bummed about it, but felt a little better when I talked about it to my mom and discussed her reasons for saying that I might not (apparently, not something that has been done a lot in our family and then I really don't have a lot of friends in the area where I live .... most are down in GA, where I used to live ... so not a lot of people to come). Still sucks if I don't get to have the shower, but it helped to understand the reasons.

don't ypu hate that....if i have been standing for a little bit...my whole leg doesn't go numb it is the side of my leg....feels sssooo strange and i hate it....

I have my next doc. appt. in two weeeks. I am very concerned because at night I have a tingling sensation in my fingers, hands, and arms. This sensation sometimes goes all the way up to my shoulders. I have been told that when people have diabetes they feel tingling sensations in the fingers. On my next appt. I will drink that #######, wait an hour to find out if that is the case. And this heartburn kills me every night.

Did anyone else have that awful numbness and tingling?

Had a doctors appointment Monday. The awful sensation and tingling is carpel tunnel.

carpel tunnel - wrist supports

heart burn - tums

back pain - massages/special pillow

urinary tract - antibiotic

low iron - prenantal vitamins

Only seven or eight weeks left - WOO HOO

I agree, it's a good idea.

Hubby and I talk about wanting to possibly adopt a baby girl from India one day. Either we will do that or at least help out some orphans in India in some way. But still adoption is something we might look into in the future since hubby is from there and can maybe get some good contacts.

Thanks Shauna.. I am keeping track. I called the emergency room nurse to see what to do. I have to wait until tom morrow for results and I need to talk to my nurse about my symptoms. They said there is nothing they can do to treat this fifth disease. That if I did test positive that I should have an ultrasound. I still just think I have the flu. She is kicking me a lot so I am sure she is fine. I think I worry to much...

Dude the nurse called me today and said she had the results but she could not tell me. My doctor had to call me to tell me and he was not in. Dude. How many of you have a number where you can call a doctor or nurse at night if your feeling sick. I am going to ask when I talk to him. I can't get anyone at the office after 4pm it stinks. At least today I feel good enough to finally eat and keep it down.
