I decided to do it without epidural, but changed my mind in the process so they ended up doing an epidural anyway. Unfortunatelly it was discovered that I have a REALLY high tolerance for painkillers, and they would have to give me much more than is medically safe to have aNY effect.

I ended up having it "naturally" I guess.....

It hurt like crazy, but I knew exactly what to do and when to do it cause I felt it all- not sure if I could have done that with epi.

To each their own I guess.....

Naturalized! Yeah!

I didn't want to offend anybody, it is just my opinion that American doctors like to overdo Cesarean and inductions. Actually this is what the nurse who taught the pregnancy classes said. She said that Cesarean are very high in America compared to many other developed countries and that's not always good.

It is great that we have so many choices now with pain relievers and everything, I just really believe that we should help the nature, not to take over it. Why induce labor when you are only 2 days overdue?

The same nurse said that once you start using medication in labor to start it, then you have to use more medication to cope with the effects of the first one and the third medication one to cope with the effects of the second one, etc.

Lizzy, I think you are almost there, girl. Keep us informed!!!!

Thanks for all the replies. My reason for wanting to speed this up is because I've had a hard pregnancy (the baby is fine) - two extremely painful fibroids AND an infected cyst on my tailbone. The pain that I have had to endure as he gets bigger is driving me to the point of wanting to just curl up in a ball and die. Everyone's experience is different, and had I not had the issues with my cyst and fibroids then I wouldn't be so anxious to get him out, but the pressure from his weight is unbearable. Docs have given me both vicodin and codeine for the pain but I would rather him just come out than to be drugged up. I know that only being past EDD by a few days may be normal, but my circumstances right now are anything but.

I agree, from what my doc told me the policy is: Induction if baby is a week over due.....

My MIL who is ex OB Nurse didn't want me to be induced after jut one week over due but I was so ready to have the baby out.....

Jonesie, hang in there

Naturalized! Yeah!

It's relatively normal at this stage (23 weeks) to feel a lot of movement some days, and very little on other days, right?

I would say so. Baby does what he wants when he wants. For the first few weeks that I could feel him move, Mehdi would only beat me when it was time to eat again. Now he beats when I lay down, before food, after food, whenever.

Yep, there are days when the baby is more active. It all depends on what you do, what you eat, etc.

I'm so extremely tired today. I have the worst time sleeping at night. It takes me 5 various sized and shaped pillows just to get remotely comfortable. But I still toss and turn pretty much all night.

Maybe I'm being tested for what's to come...

Tomorrow or in 3 weeks? That's a pretty big gap of time! What are you hoping for, Lizzy?

Since you're only 35-36 weeks, I'm sure you're hoping for the latter...
