Had my last OB appointment today. Hubby did not give a good enough speech to convince the doc to take the baby early, so we're still on for the 18th.

Hubby took me out to lunch afterwards and the cashier said "Ma'am when are you due? Yesterday?" Its so much fun to be a spectacle to others.

You are being induced? I know these babies can't stay in there forever!! Funny story...it has been raining like crazy here in Indiana and I guess my drivers side window is leaking a little bit. Well, I didn't know and one morning this week when I got to where I volunteer, my pants were wet and I got sooooo excited! It took me a trip to the bathroom to see that it wasn't me and it was just rain water. Boo Hoo!

I understand what you mean about the pants. The BH really started revving up this last week and I was wondering if the real thing was approaching. Well one afternoon I got up from a nap and baby decided to mash down at the same time (he's already 8 pounds). Needless to say it was time for a change of clothes, but I thought "OMG did my water break? OMG! What do I do?". When I finally figured out what happened, I thought I was pretty darn silly for getting excited over peeing my own britches

Isnt it though? Dignity is the first thing to go. I think it began when I had my first sono, which was naturally a transvag because thats the most embarassing one. I think there were 2 nurses, the doc, a sono tech, and my husband all in attendance for that. And whoever had strong enough binoculars to see in the 5th story exam room window. So now that everyone has seen my pink bits, I guess peeing my pants isnt all that bad. Im just thankful I was at home

You wait until you go into labor. What dignity are you talking about? During my delivery there was a doc, 4 nurses and my hubby. At one point they put me on my knees and elbows and my naked butt was up in the air. I asked them if I could waive it (I was trying to have a good sense of humor about it). And when you push, everybody gets a very nice view of everything.

I delivered on Saturday and my doc wasn't on call. Nest morning the doctor came to visit me and I noticed how young and good-looking he was. But I cound't bring myself to make eyes on him because I remembered what he saw the night before. You can't talk about a woman having a mistery here.

Thankfully there will be no lovely labor for me. However, the ounce of diginity I might still have lurking around will be gone when I have to get nekkid for them to cut my belly open. Oh fun fun fun.

Dont men have some sort of really embarassing equivalent? This seems awfully unfair.

Oh man, I hear you all on the dignity thing. I am a very modest person, won't even change around my mom or sister...but yeah once you are in labor, a million medical people see you exposed. Probably at least 15 different people-nurses, nurse assitants, Dr, midwife, anesthesiologists, etc, were around at times when I was exposed. I feel bad for them! lol And blood and every other liquid could be involved.

The prep for the c-section includes sitting up with your whole back and butt exposed on the table til you get the spinal. That was my second time in the same position, since I had an epidural earlier. Embarassing but at the moment you almost can't care. I guess these people see it all day so they don't care either. And then if you try to breastfeed, expect a lot of contact!! Modesty goes right out the window. lol. Looking back, I am embarassed, but at the time I wasn't.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Then its high time men had more prostate exams, more often, with more people to 'supervise'

Im used to that. I was getting regular spinal nerve blocks up until I got pregnant. I think the nurses, docs, and whatnot get pretty jaded. If you seen one naked pregant butt, you've seen 'em all. Or maybe Im wrong and they're secretly holding up score cards when we're facing away.

Strangely enough, Im not too concerned about modesty while nursing. Not that I plan on flopping a ####### out at every available opportunity. But around family and friends, who cares. Its just a breast, like all women have. And its just an infant taking nourishment. Ive seen adults eat in a far more digusting manner in a public restaurant, all the while displaying boobs, buttcrack, or heaven knows what else due to poor clothing choices.

Cherry, it didn't work. I guess I am not doing something right.

Girls, you are so funny! I agree that doctors probably don't care about our nakes butts. They see them every day. Do you think they are comparing? I had a pimple at my butt at the time of the delivery so I am getting pretty self-concious here.
