Stina,

Congratulations! He is very sweet!

I do feel your pain. I also had to go to the hospital 3 times! First time my contractions were 5 minutes apart and I was 1 centimeter dilated so they sent us home with a sleeping pill. We came back in a few hours with contractions 4 minutes apart and I was still one centimeter so they sent us home again! We came back a few hours later and I was 4 centimeters so they finally admitted us.

I wish you a speedy recovery and enjoy your little boy!!!!!

Hi girls...

some of you are about to have your babies too! I have another quiet minute to post. Baby is sleeping nicely but will wake up soon to eat.

I assume people who read here also read the thread I made about having the baby on Feb 1st, but incase someone missed it, here...http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=108491

I will be thinking of and praying for those who are due soon! :D

My story...

My labor was really long and hard. I had contrax(contractions) that day I posted here(Thurs morning) and went to the hospital when they were coming about 5 mins apart. Weirdly I was only 1cm when I was checked, and they had me walk for an hour and a half. Then I still was 1cm. They gave me some muscle relaxers to rest and said they expect I'd be back soon. So I grudgingly went home and labored for 7 more hours before going back to the hospital with severe back labor and contrax 4 mins apart. I was only 2 cm!!!!They made me walk an hour, and sent me home again calling it "early labor" and one rude nurse said how it could go on for days and if I thought I was in pain now, then I was in for a rude awakening. I wanted to hit her! The nurse earlier in the day was way nicer. So I went home around 2am, miserable, could not sleep, had contrax ranging from 8 mins to 3 mins apart. It never got to a steady rythm but they got stronger and stronger. I had to breath through every contraction or I would have gone crazy. Finally around 10:30am, after stalling for fear of being sent home again, we decided to go back a 3rd time to the hospital b/c what if baby was about to be born. I was checked at the hosp and was 7 cm!!!! B/c they assumed I was only in early labor at 2 am that day, I did most of my labor at home in horrible pain. I was so mad. It was severe hip and butt pain contrax, the contrax in the front were bearable, but those were not. I didn't want an epi but I already went through about 30 hours of labor before getting one, I thought I waited long enough and got to 7 cms at home totally on my own.

Then I got stuck at 7 cms. If I moved around my contrax would be like 1-2 mins apart, as soon as I would lay down or sit they'd drop to once every 8-10mins. The problem was Kavi was facing the wrong direction, and the largest part of his head was at the wrong part of the birth canal. Hence my really long and hard labor. I was at 7 cms at the hospital for a couple hours and they gave me pitocin, which made my contrax stronger and closer together, I had the epidural by then btw so it didn't feel too bad, but I still didn't get past 7cms after being there 5 hours.

My water had broken sometime between leaving the hospital at 2am and going back around 10:30 am but I didn't notice it, otherwise I would have gone back immediately...

I had a lot of bloody mucus so I guess it came out mixed with that. Also I could only sit on the toilet all night, the only comfortable place to sit somehow during contrax so it probably leakd out

.

SO b/c of unsure timing of water breaking, and then finding meconium in me, and baby getting a little stressed(poor guy :( getting squeezed around for so long), a c section was decided. By that point all I cared about was seeing the baby and being done with labor so I didn't freak out, I was actually relieved.

The csection went fine but it's very hard healing from it. I have hardly slept, not b/c of Kavi, he is a good sleeper, but b/c of pain and such. But after my long labor, I don't think I'd even want to try a VBAC in the future, I'd be so afraid of the 30+ hours of labor again.

When I finally saw Kavi's face, my heart was so happy and he looked so beautiful and sweet. He really is so sweet and cuddly. We love him so much!!!

So that's the story! Sujeet is my hero, he has helped in every way possible, and seeing him and Kavi together is so cuuuuuuuute. My family is also helping out. I just want to heal and be able to do everything myself soon, and to do much more for the baby.

Please don't let my birth story scare anyone, if my labor had lasted under 20 hours and I could have had a regular birth, I think I could have even done it w/o the epi if I didn't have back labor. But b/c I hadn't sleep all night and had sever back labor, it made it really hard. So don't think it's normal! You will all do good!

Can't wait to see the next baby!

Did anyone else who had a section have weird things afterwards like not being able to eat a lot or things just tasting horrible? I can only eat a small amount at a time.

congratulations on your little bundle of joy!!!!!

Good luck Ace .. you are getting close :)

Nannygirl, I can relate to the worrying! I have been stressing lately too and trying to not worry because I know that doesn't help anything, but it is easier said than done. I started out this pregnancy overweight and have tried to be soooo cautious to eat healthy for the baby and not gain too much weight. At my last appointment, I was actually down 2 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, which my doctor told me not to stress about, that baby was healthy and developing fine. Well, it seems that in the 2 weeks since that appointment, I have gained 7 pounds! Of course, my first thought is, oh god am I developing gestational diabetes??? My husband tries to keep me sane and remind me that everyone gains weight in pregnancy, but I am definitely anxious to have my gestational diabetes test in 2 weeks.

yup i know what you mean....i started the same way...i actually lost about 6 pounds because of morning sickness and just not feeling hungry....i gained back those 6 pounds and stayed the same weight for a couple months...today i have gained 2 pounds which i am thrilled about and the dr. says is good....put i know what you mean about eating healthy....i just crave sweet things and slushies lately...can't help it....just had my last glucouse test done and everything came out fine thank goodness.....like my mom tells me don't worry until there is something to worry about....i know easier said then done but your hubby is right...everyone gains weight i really wouldn't stress too much!!!

Had my last OB appointment today. Hubby did not give a good enough speech to convince the doc to take the baby early, so we're still on for the 18th.

Hubby took me out to lunch afterwards and the cashier said "Ma'am when are you due? Yesterday?" Its so much fun to be a spectacle to others.

No, no sore eyes here. All I remember is my eyelids being terribly heavy and I had to sleep all the time to where I didn´t even know wether it was day or night or what day it was...completely confusing those first days.

You are being induced? I know these babies can't stay in there forever!! Funny story...it has been raining like crazy here in Indiana and I guess my drivers side window is leaking a little bit. Well, I didn't know and one morning this week when I got to where I volunteer, my pants were wet and I got sooooo excited! It took me a trip to the bathroom to see that it wasn't me and it was just rain water. Boo Hoo!

Well, it is Friday again and I keep telling my little baby that Fridays are good days to be born, but as of this morning, there is no movement down there :( I thought it would be nice because then my husband has the weekend to spend with me and the baby and not worry about his work schedule. Plus today is my grandmothers birthday and I thought that would be a nice way to remember her since she passed when my mom was in her 20's. But, I don't think today is the day unless I am pleasantly surprised soon by surprise contractions. I know it will happen soon!

best of luck!

Nopers, C-section. Im penciled in for noon. I kinda wish they'd do it a tad earlier because Im gonna be starving by then. Ill have to send out the Taco Bell patrol or something.

I understand what you mean about the pants. The BH really started revving up this last week and I was wondering if the real thing was approaching. Well one afternoon I got up from a nap and baby decided to mash down at the same time (he's already 8 pounds). Needless to say it was time for a change of clothes, but I thought "OMG did my water break? OMG! What do I do?". When I finally figured out what happened, I thought I was pretty darn silly for getting excited over peeing my own britches
