I had an appointment today with the doctor. Everything is good. I even get to schedule another ultrasound. I can wait to see what this little girl is doing inside of me. I can not wait to see exactly how big she is and about how much she weighs. Plus, I will make sure I get new pictures this time. The two times we got to see her, my hubby cried. We were so happy. I cried the very first time back in September, but not the last time. Wonder what will happen this time

I had an appt today. I am still just 1 cm(was 2 weeks ago too) but 50% effaced and baby is at -2 station. So at least I have "thinned" since the last appt and baby has dropped lower down. My next appt is Wednesday the 30th.

Oh man, Im so the very scatterbrained pregnant woman these days. I read that your appt is on the 30th and I thought "Hey my next appointment is on the 30th too! But mine's on Thursday the 30th, #######???". I checked my appointment card and realized its the 31st, because my appointments are always on Thursdays. I have issues  I wish my next appointment were sooner. We're having another sono and Im dying for a peek!

 You scared me too when you said the 30th was Thursday, then I read the rest of the post!

That's cool that you and others are getting ultrasounds again. I haven't had one since 25 weeks. No more are planned. :( And at that one, he already was head down facing my back so all I saw was the back of his head and his little spine. lol. Oh well, hopefully not much longer til I get to see him!

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Stina - Getting closer :) You must be excited!!!

I have a doctor's appt. tonight, am going to ask about the likelihood of having another ultrasound :) Criss fingers the doctor can find a medical reason to do one (only way insurance will pay!)

LOL now we're even!

I have half a dozen ultra sounds and it never gets dull. Its sooo fascinating to watch him grow. Even when hubby cant attend, he is still awed by the pictures and repeates "Subhanallah" over and over again :). But Im like you, I cant wait to see what he really looks like, its exciting!

I may ask doc to move my appointment up a little though. Ive been getting some weird pains and its a little frightening. I keep having nightmares that I go into labor early and try to deliver naturally.

Ladies, since many of you here have boys- how do you feel about the "american tradition" of having them circumcised right after they're born?

I was kinda shocked when I heard that this is a routine over here for every boy. I really don't feel good about exposing my baby to this painful experience when he's just born and there is no medical reason for it.

Hubby thinks very traditional about it and he was shocked to hear that the USA is one of the few countries who still circumcise their baby boy's.

He says that when he was in High school there was a boy who wasn't circumcised and everybody harrassed him for it until he tried to circumcise himself with a kitchen knife, out of pure peer pressure. needless to say that went very wrong....

I don't know what to do, I really don't want my baby to resent us later if we decide to spare him from that painful and unneccessary experience.

any advice?

If you're not sure, don't do it. He can always elect to be circumcised later. On the other hand, they say it's good for boys to look like their dads. But I wouldn't do it.

Im right there with ya sister. I tried to get out of the car the other night and had to sit right back down LOL. We have a cavalier, so its kind low to the ground and really hard to haul your 'bucket' outta that bucket seat.

My doc still has me on phenergan for the upset tum. I started getting morning-noon-night sickness again when I hit the 3rd trimester. You might see if your doc would give you a scrip for some tummy medicine to help you get through these last few weeks. If I didnt take mine from time to time, Id be yakking constantly and dropping weight again.

Hubster and I agree that we want the baby circumcised, but at first there was a debate as to when it should be done. We both agree that we want it for religious and cleanliness reasons. But I want it done right after birth, hubby wanted it done later on in youth. In my husband's culture, its common for young boys to be circumcised around the age of 8 and then a big party is held to celebrate. We finally decided to have him circumcised at birth, because I just cant bear putting my son through that kind of pain when he's old enough to remember it. And then we will still have the religious celebration at the appropriate age.

Its a personal choice for each couple. You should never feel pressured to circumcise your child just because everyone else has done it to theirs. My sister and my SIL were pregnant with boys at the same time 3 years ago. One was adamant about circumcision, the other vehemently opposed to it. Make your decision based on what's important to you. If your son is unhappy with the choice later on down the road, there are surgeries that can be done to correct it, either way.
