yeah i asked on a pregnancy board and they finally replied saying it's your ending weight minus your beginning weight. so i guess on the first case would be 25 and the second would be 20.

Nessa, that is the same thing my dr told me at my appointment on Monday.

Twila@ Your babies look so cute, and for what you tell they are behaving and letting mommy sleep ok at nights. Good Job little ones  .

Nessa@ My Dr. told me exactly the same thing.... BTW are you buying stuff for the baby?? Here hubby tells me to calm down 'cause I keep buying more and more stuff for Sofia, I try to explain him that I HAVE to take advantage of the super sales.

Caro@ Lindo!!! Congrats for the first pic of your little bean. When is your due date?

Thank you Vi!

The doctor said she would still go by my last period date and keep Sep 14th as my due date, but maybe the baby will come a little before that date :)

Saludos,

Caro

Very cool - as for us, I can't believe that the baby will be here in only about 10-11 weeks more. I was thinking it would be interesting to have the baby on April 1st - April Fool's Day or on April 2nd - which is Dia de las Malvinas...

oki have a stupd question about weight gain during pregnancy.

Situation # 1: you weight 130. then at a certain point you are up 30 lbs (weight: 160) and then you lose 5 lbs and finish your pregnancy that weight (weight: 155). would you consider your total pregnacy gain 30 or 25 lbs, considering that a certain point in your pregnancy you were 30 lbs heavier? Some weeks you gain weight, some you lose. When you think about, some weeks you'll be heavier than others because you'll be bloated, retaining water, constipated, etc. So does that weight really count?

Situation # 2: you weight 130. you lose 10 lbs in your first trimester, with the ms and all. then you gain 30lbs (weight: 150). Is your total weight gain 20 or 30 lbs?

nessa ...

serious ... does it really matter so long as you and the child are both healthy when all is said and done?

your weight will fluxuate ... then things will become stable and you'll be able to work toward your weight. It's a huge change and you'll get back to a normal self on the other side.

I agree...

But to answer the Q hehe...I don't know, I think I would go with what I weighed right before having the baby and maybe subtract what I weighed right when I got pregnant. I post on a losing weight forum and one thing that happens that annoys me(not to offend anyone) is for starting weight #s, some ppl use their heaviest pregnant weight, which to me does not count. It should be after you had the baby and give yourself a couple weeks to get rid of all the extra water retention, etc before you come up with a losing weight start weight. Otherwise it's sort of cheating b/c it makes one look like they lost sooo much more weight. But I don't think giving birth qualifies as a normal part of a weight loss plan.

Good morning Everyone!

Regarding weight gain... According to my doc yesterday, I already gained 5 pounds

I hope at least a few of those is the difference between weighing yourself first thing in the morning and later in the day...and some boobie weight gain

@natty: i was curious. Now go back to your corner, i don't want people trying to make me feel bad here.

@vi: all i've bought so far is 1 car seat. I also bought 1 toy, a couple of clothes, but not because i went buy baby stuff, i was in a store that sells it and it was cute. This weekend we'll go buy furniture, stroller, swing, the expensive stuff. Then after my baby shower i'll go buy all the rest i need, that I didn't get from the baby shower (which will be pretty much all the rest, because i doubt i'll get anything that i really need other than clothes from the baby shower).

Do you have a list of everything you need, or are you just buying random stuff?

I'm not planning on cheating, i'm just wondering because that's happening to me and when people ask how much weight i've gained i wanna know what to answer.

Nessa@ I made a list since the beginning of my pregnancy, I've been buying little by little but to be honest I didn't buy anything the first months, I was a little scared, you know.... . We got the crib during my 2nd month JUST BECAUSE was in super sale. My family and friends from Peru are sending me some stuff, mostly clothes but I expect to get the big/expensive stuff from Silvio's family  they are pretty good with that, The stroller I like is about $249 and the change table around the same price too (comes with drawers). We got the car seat from my SIL  , actually a few of them.

This Saturday is not going to snow so we are going to open the registry

Caro@ I'm petite too (5'2 and weight from 105-108) and started showin by the end of my 4th month. I lost weight during the first trimester  .

SeeYa!
