I think she is pretty dang cute :luv:

I just cant beleive she is already almost 3 months old, I feel like she is going to be a teen next week. I want it to slow dooooooooooownnnnn.

You preggos just wait until you have babes in arms. As much as time seems to slow the last months of pregnancy and become eternal, it goes to hyperdrive after you have the baby. it makes me kinda verklempt :(

It might be a V-Day baby (L)

Oh my, I have sooooo many schedules to meet with this little #######. Hubby wants it his birthday, the 8th. A friend wants it on his birthday, the 11th. Dad's birthday is on the 13th. Valentines is on the 14th. My best girlfriend says not to have him on the 19th, because that's her ex-husband's b-day. Aunt wants it on a Monday because thats her day off. Mom wants it on a Thursday because she teaches class Mon-Wed. Cousin's son's b-day is the 27th. And leap year is the 29th. My actual due date is the 25th, but the OB is on vacation the week of Valentines, so that's how we got left with the 18th. Man, this scheduling stuff is hard.

that is pretty funny ... boy what you must be going through with all the request ... lol

I'm glad it turned out to be a neutral day...i.e. no one's requested day. Now we can all be happy.

This is just plain Gabi (you should read some of her writing..oh yeah, you DO on VJ  ) and your baby Sara, is so adorable. :luv:

texas here i come too :( ...another week away from my family while being almost 6 months pregnant...my hormones have just taken over for the worst...hubby and i are not getting along these days as well as everyone else is driving me crazy

I think I'll save meeting up with you until AFTER the baby is born. I want to stay on your good side, and not get tangled in the hormones.

I hope things straighten out with your husband and that they aren't serious but just a normanl newlywed phase. :luv:

lol ... ok ... sounds good to me ... yes just normal stuff ... he irritates the hell out of me stuff ... and so does everyone else ... thankfully, i have not started my crying bouts yet ... which I know are bound to happen from previous experience

You are sooo right. Time flashes by. My son looks at me in this cute way and it brings me to tears knowing that he will be growing and he won't need me anymore...I think this is why people have more kids! It's a trap!!!!

Question?? When did u gals all decided to take maternity leave. I am thinking 2 weeks before my due date and my mother is telling me to work up to my due date. My employer wants a letter soon with a approximate date. My mothers reasoning is that she says I should save sick days for my retirement (which is in 31 more years) and the possibility the little one will get sick. If I took two weeks off before my due date next year I would have at least 22 sick days. Anyone with experience could give advice please. Thank you. I just love seeing the pics of everyones little ones

I was originally going to work right up to the week before my due date and save all my sick and vacation time for the rest of the year. But the doc put me on reduced hours and the company refused to honor doc's orders, so I got forced onto leave almost 2 months early. In the end its just as well I bailed early because there's no way I could have coped with work (even part-time), housework, immigration, and growing a human being all at once. Its just wayyyyy too much.

I would get clear answers from HR about what to expect from them while you're on leave before you set a date. My employer, for instance, does not offer STD or LTD, but does cover my health insurance premiums while Im out. If you can use your sick time later on for the little one, Id say save it. My employer doesnt allow sick time to be used to anyone but the employee, so I just went ahead and cashed it out. If you get partial pay while you're out, or hubby is supporting the family, then save whatever sick and vacation time you can for later.

Take your own well-being into account too. If you feel like ####### and arent getting anything done at work, for heaven's sake stay home. I feel 10 times better being able to stay home and somewhat enjoy this last month of pregnancy. It may be hard financially, but emotionally and physically its well worth it.

Hey Jax,

If I were you I would work up to ur due date...gives more time after u give birth..ur going to be home bored and wished you were working..also if for some reason the baby decides to come late that would make you even more bored. Do u get paid maternity and how long u get paid for? it is really ur personal preference, and how long you want to stay home for. Good Luck

I was planning on working up to my due date too but my job was horrible, I was soooooo stressed out! I ended up quitting christmas (due date is May 3rd) Now nobody wants to hire me, being preggers!

I am having an absolutely healthy pregnancy but I can't even find anything part time!

Staying home drives me nuts but its better on my sanity and well being than my old job.

I know that the last couple weeks are tough, so if it was me, I'd leave 2 weeks prior your due date. It depends on your hours and how straining your job is too.

wish I was having this baby in Germany. you can go into maternity leave 8 weeks prior due date and then you have to stay home for at least 12 weeks postpartum! You're also immune to being fired and can take up to 3 years of maternal leave, with the first year paid leave. sounds unreal compared to the circumstances over here.

question: what did you guys pay for your childbirth classes? Do you recommend taking these classes? I'm pregnant with my first baby but I am a pediatric nurse, so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

My hospital charges $200 for hubby and me  is that the average and do health insurances cover that? I have GHI.

I was going to wait until a week before due date but my doctor took me out a week before (2 weeks prior to D-day) because my blood pressure started going up. It ended up working out fine in the end as my baby was a week early.

My advice would be to work as long as you can while still feeling alright because I think it helps the time pass faster and it is true you are going to want more time later, but just make sure to try to tie up loose ends and stuff because you just never know which day will be your last one,, :)

good luck
