My OB told me if one baby is head down I can deliver vaginally but it would be no guarantee the next one would turn head down which would result in a c-section. Of course, if neither baby is head down it's a c-section anyway. Plus, I automatically have to get an epidural when I go in just in case they do end up doing a c-section. And I can't labor in the nice birthing rooms they have. I have to labor in the operating room. I'm actually thinking I'll just opt for a c-section anyway. That way I can schedule the birth and be more prepared to bring the babies home. I just don't see the point in laboring to deliver one vaginally then ending up with a c-section anyway.

Amen there sister! I would just want to have the csection and get it over and done with in 15 mins. I mean natural is cool and all...but I wouldn't want the risk.

Well, I know some people won't agree with me, but I see no point in laying there laboring for 12-14 hours if I'm going to have to get a c-section anyway. And yeah, it could go faster than that but even 4-5 hours. Why do it? If they're cutting me open to get one out they can cut me open to get them both out. If I knew for sure they were both head down then ok, I'd rather do it naturally. But of course, that probably won't happen.

There is an alterior reason why I would like a vaginal delivery. The ob/gyn oncologist told me my abnormal pap smears may be permanently cured with a vaginal delivery as the babies would push out the abnormal cells. However, I am cool and totally prepared for a c-section. I just want two healthy babies and to be off bedrest...however that comes about. Also, we really think two is more than enough for us and if I have a c-section, my ob has already agreed to a tubal ligation at the same time.

I'm tossing that idea around in my head as well. I haven't decided how I feel about it though so haven't mentioned it to Javi yet. I don't think he'll be crazy about the idea. We've already decided we aren't going to do fertility treatments again. So it'd just be luck if we got pregnant again anyway. I'm just not sure I want more than 2.

I'm like you, just trying to prepare myself for a c-section. I don't want to be one of these people that goes into it thinking it's going to be a vaginal delivery all the way when quite possibly it won't. So many women act like getting a c-section is their body letting them down or something. I don't think that is the case. Sometimes we just need a little help, especially if we're having two at a time. :D

I never said not to have a c/s. When the babies aren't positioned right then I think it is the best way to go.

And I wasn't talking to you. Maybe I came in late on the conversation but I never saw anywhere you said anything about c-sections period.

Thanks, Nessa - I'm just hoping that it doesn't happen again tonight. Plus, I don't eat bananas, so I can't get potassium from them. I might drink a small glass of apple juice before bed to see if that helps.

"Cassandra"

Born Dec 28 2008. We're very very happy!

congrats! She is adorable! What a beautiful name!! I wish it would go with our last name. wait a minute.... I'm already picking out names for number 2?

Are you trying to tell us something? ;)

nah. It's just funny. Hubby and I keep coming up with baby names for a possible second Baby. And we get seriously offended when our pregnant friends pick "our" name for their kid.

i went to the doctor today. i got to the point where i can't tell people how much i gained anymore cuz it's embarrasing

aww, come one! I saw your belly! It can't be that bad!! But i understand. My doctor screamed at me for gaining too much at every appointment. and I was all belly. It will come off quick trust me. Oh next time- go pee first and dress light! I totally believed that made a difference every time I had to step on the scale. I even took my wedding ring off. :hehe:

Twila, I am a twin to my sister and my mom delivered us vaginally 13 minutes apart, I was first at 7lbs and my twin sister was 7lbs5oz. No epidural or nothing. She had us 26 minutes after being admitted into the hospital!!! So it is possible! Whatever happens will be for the best. Cant wait to see the lil ones!!

Nessa, Im sure the weight gain isnt that bad. Every body is different. As long as your not living of junk food and eating right you will be fine.

Aaaawwww thank you Charles  .

By the way...I was also one of those who thought their body failed them. It's nothing I wanted to feel, believe me. My heart knew but I couldn't help it.

Anyway...let's not fight, I'm not up for it.

Happy pregnancy everybody.
