Yaads: Congrats!

Booty: Join the twins club! There have been quite a few born or in progress! Mine will hopefully be soon!

And to answer the question someone posted...yup...I am in the hospital because my docs think the mild preeclampsia I have been diagnosed with is on the verge of becoming more serious. They are just trying to get me to 35, maybe 36 weeks. 35 weeks is New Year's! So...there should be some babies soon!

Thanks everyone :D

Twila - I sure hope bedrest in the hospital goes by quickly for you. You are almost there.

Thanks for the input about when to tell people. I am going to wait until I have my first appt. to tell our family if possible. I have a few friends that know and then you guys. It was too hard to keep asking questions here without just telling y'all  People are starting to figure it out though because I have been horribly sick. I basically got sick a few days after conception (if you remember my post here lol) and have been sick ever since. So people are starting to catch on. If I could I would wait to tell people but they are asking me so I just tell them the truth. I have already lost 6 pounds and I have been sick for over 5 weeks now. I need someone to share my misery with

Thanks again for the welcome...hope you don't mind all my questions...I know I have lots :P

Cute baby bump Booty! Congrats on the twins :D

Girl, I wish you the healthiest, happiest pregnancy. May the m/s stop real soon. It was very easy for me to keep quiet cause I had no problems with m/s, just all this bleeding and cramping that I kept feeling like I was going to lose the baby. But, who are you going to tell that to - no one, except the OB. So, at the end of the day, I just put it all in God's hands and said, "OK God, you handle it." :D And he did!

Staashi I am so glad that it ended up all working out for you and your little one. Such a blessing! Thank God :D That wouldn't be something I would share either...I understand that completely.

Think I can convince them for another 4 weeks that I have the flu? :P

Yeah, I'm glad I held off to be sure. To each their own. Hehe...tell 'em you have the knocked up flu.

I told the staff at my school that I was pregnant at 10 weeks, then I told my students at 14 weeks--they cheered for me!

It was so hard to wait, but I had a miscarriage the year before and was nervous...it was challenging to hide, as I was busting out of my clothes by the end of that first trimester!

BTW, my birthday is just a week later--January 10th--seems like we have a whole bunch of Capricorns around here!

I told my coworkers in my department about as soon as I knew (because it was the end of the school year). I told most of my family immediately. I waited to share the news with all of my workplace until 14 weeks. I couldn't keep it quiet. I felt if it was meant to be, it was meant to be. If I lost them, I knew I would need everyone to be there for me. It truly is a hard decision, though.

Hi Yaads,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! And thanks for sharing the news with us here on VJ. Likewise, I'm a newbie on this VJ "Baby Corner" forum too, so I guess in that sense I'm a newbie too.

In answer to your question, for this pregnancy, I did not tell others right away, as I've had previous miscarriages before, and had worries about this pregnancy. So I wanted to wait a lot longer, but...

But I "accidently spilled the beans online" (at 7 weeks or so), as described and confirmed the pregnancy accordingly in the following message thread (gee, there sure are smart and observant Canadian VJers here!): http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...c=165987&hl=

So after "I was caught on VJ", I also posted the following VJ poll about my pregnancy, which I also announced and confirmed the pregnancy on here as well(by the way, feel free to vote in this poll too):

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2462865

As for "spilling the beans offline/in real life", I just did that recently (at 9 weeks or so), as it was during Christmas and I guess I must have been extra happy (especially since I also got an ultrasound done recently that same week too), so I just told family and friends then. I figure that I couldn't hide this good news for much longer anyways, so why not make Everyone's christmas happier and just "spill the beans" on such a special holiday occasion...

Hope this helps! Good luck on the rest of your pregnancy and the rest of your immigration journey too! Happy Holidays! Merry (Belated) Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ant (Still waiting at the VSC, Still waiting for Baby...)

Hey everyone :D

I was wondering...how far into your pregnancy did you start telling people? Did you tell them right away, wait for your first doc appt, wait til a certain week?

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :D

Yep :luv:

My 1st appt isn't scheduled til Jan. 27 which is way to long to wait and tell people. So there you go VJ...consider this my official announcement - I am pregnant! YAY! I am 6+ weeks now but I wasn't sure when to start telling people and all that good stuff...I am a newbie

The hopspital I worked at delivered twins in 2006/2007 - one right before midnight in 2006 and the other one January 1st 2007. They were twins just born on different days in different years.

Happy New Years everyone!
