hey gabby, first, take a deep breath. he'll be ok. does he have a temperature? Is he coughing? Is he acting differently?

When you say he's choking, do you think he's aspirating some of the stuff?

elevate his upper body and don't let him sleep on his belly or on his side and keep an eye on him. I'd only let him drink water for a while to settle his tummy.

If it gets really bad, take him to an ER. Hope he feels better soon. Also, I'd assess if he's accidently digested something hazardous (toys, soap, anything...) does he have a stomach ache etc

well, he chokes in his sleep and then he wakes up and then he's gasping for air and then the show begins, starts throwing up everywhere...he didnt choke with food or toys or anything else, its in his sleep thats whats freaking me out....and earlier he was awake, i just fed him and then out of the tummy it went...i think his tummy is messed up too....i dont know if its the food i gave him or something else..it happened before, like a month ago when he choked in his sleep.

and on top of it all, we just moved into a new town , we're on a military base with the damn hospital closed at this hour, and i dont really know what to do or what to give him.... :help::help::crying:

ok. can you call the hospital on the military base and see if maybe they have an answering machine. sometimes they put phone numbers on their tapes that you can call in case of emergency. or maybe a phone number of a doctor who's on call.

It's quite a coincidence that we're talking so much about "crotch pain"...mine started last weekend. It feels just like someone kicked me right between the legs! Glad to hear it's pretty normal. I assumed it was.

stina...thanks for sharing such a positive outlook on this pregancy thing :thumbs: Although it's been full of all kinds of weird and often uncomfortable changes, I absolutely LOVE being pregnant. My greatest joy is feeling my baby kicking and wiggling inside of me. I have never felt so alive!!!

What now I have wonderful crotch pain to come. Oh boy I hope not :whistle:

we had the same thing a couple weeks ago.. our pedi told us to give him a couple TSP water for the first 2hrs.. (every 15min.. even if he doesnt want it) after 2hrs switch to formula/BM.. or give him pedialyte.. and after 5hrs start with 2-4oz of formula/BM.. i would co-sleep for tonight just to make sure that he doesnt chocke and if he does u can help him cuz u are right in the bed with him.. and i would make an appt asap with a pedi or go to the ER tomorrow.. hope he feels better..

Gabby we are in the military too...you should have Tricare as medical insurance and that should cover every emergency at ANY ER, not just on military facilities...so even if the one on base is closed I'd go somewhere else if you see it doesn't get any better. Also, if he has bad diarrhea now watch it carefully, that combined with throwing up might dehydrate him and that is no good.

I am absolutely not trying to freak you out or anything, but when it comes to this kind of things I'd rather play it safe than sorry...I'd take him and get him checked out. I'm sure it's probably nothing, but I would personally not wait and risk anything. Just saying what I WOULD DO for peace of mind, only you know what's best at the moment for your baby.

I hope he gets to feel better (F)

gabby: sounds like he has a stomach bug. If he gets a fever go to the doc. I agree with churipu. Little people like him dehydrate so fast. I'd only give him water/pedialyte for now, so you avoid the puking. choking doesn't sound good to me, some babies gag a lot right before throwing up and that can be very scary for a parent. Make sure his upper body stays elevated.

Hope the little man feels better soon!

@churipu:

Your son is just sooo cute! such big eyes... :wub:
