For the hospital bag:

I spent DAYS planning and packing my bag and hardly used ANY of it! I mostly used what the hospital provided (nightgown, robe, undies, baby gear until we packed up to go home, etc.)--why ruin your own clothes?

Now, I was only there for 1 1/2 days because I had a vaginal delivery. With a c-section you can plan on being there a little longer, so bringing more makes sense.

Things I found super helpful: my own toiletries (a nice bath after a long delivery was fabulous), snacks for hubby, a couple packages of cookies to share with visitors (especially good to keep little neices occupied).

Something I wished for: stuff for my husband--he didn't pack a thing and had to go home for clothes. Why can't men plan?

Bolded part: SAME thing for me!! I hardly used anything I brought. I was there for 2 nights and 3 days, but I didn't even take a shower while there(I was too tired from my long labor and then c-section and zero sleep for days, I had no energy to shower). I finally put on my own clothes the last day we were there. It was mostly a blur for me.

What I actually used:

My own pads though, overnight thick ones! The provided pads had no adhesive or wings.

Also my own underwear that I didn't care if it got ruined.

Robe

Slippers and thick socks, I was freezing in the rooms!!

Can't remember what else...

Would have liked to have:

A medela double pump since breastfeeding didn't go well, I used the hospital pump but it was only a single pump. :(

I did make Sujeet pack a bag though. So he was prepared and he got to be all smelling nice and showered everyday at the hospital while I was all yucky! :P

Nessa...not sure about the growling being the baby, lol, but it's probably because your stomach and intestines are being squashed by the growing baby and maybe it's harder for everything to digest and might be noisier, haha. That's my take on it.

It's amazing how the babies grow up and develop and suddenly start doing something. Kavi started clapping yesterday, and when he hears music he claps along now. It's really funny. He's been dancing for awhile, but he really loves dancing and he has his own cool groove already!! It's so cute!! He really gets into it and he sways and puts his arms up like a little Indian dancer. He babbles more now too, he was quiet for awhile at home, not making many sounds for a couple months. Now he just talks and talk in his own language. It's exciting, and already time to think about his first birthday party, wow! I want to do some kind of theme but I am not sure what yet. I love Jungle animals for him, and elephants especially, but I think I should do something else for a change.
