I say dark. If you really think you're going to keep it for a few years then get something sturdy (make sure it will survive a good jump on the bed once you convert it for a toddler). I like white, but only for babies.

We are going to keep the crib at the In-Laws house or give it away then buy a twin or full size bed once he gets older.

I saw this huge hideous plastic race car- toddler bed the other day. I don't get why people would spend money on something that unpractical.

My mom bought my son a huge hideous race car bed when he was about 2 and he used it until he was almost 7 - it actually used a twin size mattress. he LOVED it and so did every friend who ever came over to play with him, the 'trunk' was a toy box. the biggest problem was fitting it in a bedroom and moving it when we moved houses twice during that time :)

Twila - I am so glad to know you are still hanging in there, I bet it wont be too much longer now but at this point I am sure every day they get in there just makes them stronger for arrival!

Nessa - I say dark too. Although either one will be ok even as they get older, white would be fine in later years if you decorated with bright colors.

We got white furniture. I love it. It really looks clean and neat (and we will have two babies wreaking havoc on them). It really pops against the green walls. When I get a chance to finalize everything in the room I'll take some pics and post them.

ETA: We decided to only get the cribs that convert to a toddler bed. Once the babies get big enough to need twin beds, we anticipate if we are still in our condo that we would need to have bunk beds to conserve space.

Furniture: I'd go with white, I personally don't like black... We have natural colored furniture (crib, changing table). We can paint it whenever we feel to do so or just leave it as it is. The crib converts into a toddler bed and then into a twin bed.

Chnst: They have Tushies wipes at diapers.com (unfortunately they take sales tax from NY state residents). They are pretty cheap compared to 7th Generation actually. Amazon never takes sales tax, they have them there too - as well as gdiapers (as local stores mostly are always sold out - when I was in the Bay Area I was in 2 Whole Foods and both were sold out).

Twila: Hang in there! Nearly 33 weeks - step by step we are getting closer to a "good date". Are they planning for delivery at a specific date if everything is fine until then or just play it by ear?

Vi: yeah for the body pillow. I had a humongous nursing pillow filled with EPS pearls (so you can squeeze it in whatever shape, it's about 5 feet long) - during pregnancy it served me well as body pillow, then as nursing pillow and now that he is so big that we nurse without it, it's is pillow on which I prop him up after eating (otherwise he's a little spitty)....

I had an OB appt today. I got so excited when she said that at my appointment next week we will schedule the c-section (one baby is breech and the other is transverse - that cancels a vaginal delivery)! Yay! There is a light at the end of the tunnel! I also asked and she will due a tubal ligation at the same time. Two babies is enough DH and myself.

Twila,

I'm glad you're nearing the end and still doing well! Are you sure your babies won't turn before birth? I don't know as much about multiples, but many babies will turn themselves as they are nearing the end...I sure would hate for you to have to go through a c-section unnecessarily (though if it is necessary, by all means get one--the health of you and your babies is the most important thing). How exciting that you will get to meet your little sweeties soon!
