@ Wacken: C-sections have their place and I'm happy that they around when necessary. I am talking about unnecessary sections which puts moms and their babies at risk. Just recently in one of those shows they told a mom she needs a c-section again because she had one before and then it is impossible to give birth vaginally. That is not true! Or they keep telling moms their babies are too big, and then they have the section and their babies weigh 6-7 pounds, and not as predicted 10 pounds. With c-section rates well over 30% one must really wonder if those are necessary. Hubbie's aunt has had 3 sections; she is very mad about it, she had no idea that it is ok to go for a normal birth after a c-section. She just trusted her doctor - now she knows better.

I'm sorry for your experience with shoulder dystocia - it is very terrible and also very rare (though my ob tried to scare me and tell me that 15% of all women have that issue during birth, me being a small frame prolly a risk of 50% - I had a normal birth with no problems...).

@ Nessa: At Motherhood Maternity they have belly support bands for around $17 I think. I bought one around 7 months because my belly was sitting on my bladder pretty badly. It elevated it a bit and took some pressure of my poor bladder. They also have postpartum support bands, but I have no experience with those. My belly pretty much disappeared within 2-3 weeks. I guess that's all genetics. My sister gave birth 3 weeks ahead of me and still has a little flab - but I think within reasonable time after birth that's all history ;)

Hi There!!

I'm doing pretty fine, my belly getting bigger and bigger and my parents are ready to purchase their tkts to come to stay when the baby born, I'm very excitd about that  . I'm having a few problems trying to sleep, I cannot find any comfortable position, to have a pillow in between my legs helps a little bit, another thing is that I'm constantly going to the bathroom, it gets really annoying

For the Mommies: How long did it take you to go back to your pre-pregnancy size and weight???

I bought a few pants from the Motherhood store but even the smallest size -PETITE- still big on me  .

Have a good night girls!

That is awesome! My husband never felt the baby kick. For one, my placenta was in the front which cushioned his kicks. Also, every time the baby started kicking, I would place my husband's hand on my belly, and the stubborn baby would then stop!

@ Vi: I didn't really wear pregnancy clothing until the 6th month, I was still wearing regular stuff and mixed it. My belly didn't swell until well into the 7th month. I still wore regular dresses up to delivery (empire waist dresses). I wore maternity pants for about a week after delivery, mainly because they leave plenty of room -TMI - for those humongous maternity pads. I gained 28 pounds overall and left the hospital with 20 pounds gone already. I have 5 more pounds to go now. Though I wear my old clothes without problems - they always were a little big anyways. I can't say though were that extra weight is. I'm starting to believe it's in muscles from carrying my 18.7 pounder around :P

Vi-Have you tried other stores yet? Maybe you will find problems at all stores if they don't carry petitie sizes for pregnancy, but try JcPenney. They should have a maternity section in store, if not you can try online. I am not sure what their sizes would be compared to Motherhood. Oh I forgot about the question you asked...took me about 9 months to get to my pre-pg weight.

Nessa-I bought a belly support band from Motherhood, but it didn't seem to help me much. I had a lot of pain in the groin and hips, not really my back though.

@high heels and pregnancy: I still wear my high heels boots. I'll be wearing them til the day they start bothering my back or i'm too bloated to wear them.

'

yesterday i was lying in bed watching tv and I could feel him move nonstop. it was a great feeling. i still wouldn't call it kicks, but when I put my hand on the outside I could feel something moving under my skin, very down there close to my panty line.

Congrats EricC

I'm so tired...Kavi is still not sleeping through the night and lately things have gotten even worse! He'll wake up often from 11pm to 2 am every 30 mins crying and crying. Then he was up at 5:30. He is still sleeping at the moment which is good b/c he needs it. I am guessing it's his teething bothering him. Today he has a Dr's appt. He hasn't had one since August! I am curious to see how much he weighs and everything. I have to make coffee!!

@Vi: I've lost most of he weight immediately. The last pounds came off within 4 months. I am now even skinnier than before pregnancy. I guess its because I haven't eaten anything sitting down in the past 6 months... I'm glad I didn't have to work out much. The only thing that bothers me a bit is my stomach. It seems like things are a bit "lose" there than they used to be.

So glad your parents get to come for the birth...that's so special!

It took me about 3 weeks to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight after giving birth. I gained 16 pounds.

Hope you can find some pants soon! I had so much trouble finding maternity clothes that fit right, so I understand your frustration.

So I got home a little while ago from Kavi's checkup. He's been having fevers but the Dr didn't find any ear infection or throat infection thankfully, so I guess it's due to the teething. He weighs 21 lbs now. One more lb until we switch to the next car seat since we are still using the infant one.

But...we have to go back in a month so the Dr can check Kavi's head size again. He said his head is big, but has so far been following a consistent pattern, but his head is like at the top of the percentiles always, almost off the chart. The Dr keeps asking if we have a family history of big heads, which I have no knowledge of. But my mom thinks her head is big, lol, I mean no Dr has ever told any of us we have big heads.

I wasn't even worried at all until the Dr nicely said "it's nothing to worry or panic about, I am just taking precautions", so then I felt worried! I am sure it's fine...

I am pretty sure they sell the kind that can be used longer, but we got the stroller/carseat combo(and I picked a really inexpensive one). It only allows up to 22lbs. We plan on buying the Cosco carseat that is only $40-something because I researched and found that it has the same safety ratings as some that are way too expensive for my taste.
