well kaila has a wonderful cold...up every half hour...not sure how i got through the day...

yesterday took her to see the skin person...they agree it is excama however you spell it....but they are going to be very agressive with it...i have new lotions and she has to take a 20 min bath everyday....fun times...

question....i didn't ask the dr....but what do you all think about taking her swimming??? think that will make it worse?? i am not sure what i want to do....i want to get her used to the water but at the same time not sure if it will hurt or help the skin....any thoughts?

I'd say give it a shot. As with anyone going in a pool, you need to rinse yourself off before and after. Before to remove your own germs, after to remove the germs and chlorine. Also, make sure you put her lotion on her skin after your dip, as the chlorine will dry out skin.

i'm good at taking pictures :P. seriously, i'm all big, and with visible fat, my legs are huge, my arms :dead:

Nessa, you have a phenomenal figure. I know you're Brazilian, but you remind me of the Argentine women who are like, "I'm so fat and chubby" and they would actually wear a size 6 or 8 in the US, instead of their desired size 0 or 2.

thanks for the advice....that is what i was thinking...i'm going to give it try...and if it makes it worse we won't do it for a little while....

We were in urgent aid last night, zaid has really bad pink eye and a cold. He woke himself up from a sound sleep last night and screamed. He could not be soothed, not even with a bottle. It scared the ####### out of me bc once he goes to sleep at night, he never wakes up. I held him for an hour and he finaly went back down. My poor baby. I have to squeeze this ointment in his eye 5 times a day and he HATES it

Aww, I hope Kaila and Zaid get better! Kavi is doing better from the little cold he had.

Lots of weight gain will probably happen during the last trimester. From week 38 on I gained a pound a week. With Adam I gained a good 50lbs and with Allie only 30lbs (but those are now stuck to me  )

I gained most of my weight during the last trimester. I gained about 40lbs total over the pregnancy, at least 10lbs being water retention. More than I wanted to, but now after 9 months I am 2 lbs less than I was when I got pregnant, but it's taken hard work! I have heard from people who start out thin that they usually gain more, but it doesn't always have to be scary...like how you said you gained 50lbs with Adam but dropped it after he was born, and I know others too who were skinny and gained 60lbs but dropped it as well.

Nessa are you wearing pregancy clothes???

Vi

I bought 3 maternity pabts a couple weeks ago. I can still put on most of my old pants, but I can't zip them up.

As for the weight, I don't feel ugly or anything, but I worry that if I keep this up I'll be gigantic in the end and then it'll be hel! to lose. I am already going back to the gym, after 2 months without being able to. So I hope that will help.

@Zaid: Get well soon little man. It is terrible when they are sick and crying and they can't really communicate yet. Breaks my heart.

@Kaila: Same for sweet little Kaila. Hope she feels better soon.

Allie has a cold too. She started gurgeling again last night and couldn't really breathe. I gave her some saline drops and some of the medicine the pediatrician gave me to clear the congestion in her nose and throat. She's asleep now. I slept sitting up with her again and luckily my husband took over Adam this morning, meaning, he put Adam in his box (yes, Adam has a box to sit in and he loves it :lol: ) and turned on the TV....and then went to work. I slept until almost eight and when I walked into the living room Adam was sucking down his chocolate milk and watching Elmo.

After Adam I lost the weight pretty quickly. I was back to 'normal' after four months I think. I guess I had a lot of water too. With Allie it is different. I can't get rid of the last 10lbs. I'm a size 6 so I don't really care, I can wear all my old clothes but I'd like to be a little smaller in the hips. I guess it'll come off over time.

I know, they look alot alike. My mom was denying it first and then she saw a picture of Adam at around two months and she asked me if it was Allie and that 'she' kinda looked like ADam on it..haha. I told her that it actually was Adam and she would eventually agree that they look alike. I can't wait for her to get older. Her hair is getting longer and I want to put little bows in it and stuff. I never saw myself as a girls mommy (and if I can be honest, I still would have rather had another boy) but I love all the cute little dresses and dress Allie up like my little doll. Luckily she lets me do it haha. She has no idea what's in store for her. Don't get me wrong. I have babysat boys for all I know and a girl is totally new to me. I love her to death, no doubt in my mind but I think I'm more comfortable with boys. I'd like for Allie to grow up more tomboyish and still be a girl at the same time, do you know what I mean? I'd like her to run through puddles, get dirty, climb trees, play ball with Adam and friends etc. but still wear a cute little ruffle dress on easter etc.

Well...I am home today. I got sent to labor and delivery at the hospital yesterday for monitoring and tests. My blood pressure is creeping up and my OB wanted me to get a million and one blood tests, a NST, and biophysical profile. It is just weird to be in the hospital when you feel ok. The peri came and visited me as well. Basically, he told me it looks like I am at the beginning of developing preeclampsia. My bloodwork came back ok. Thankfully the nurse called my OB and asked if I could go home rather than staying the night because all I had to do was a 24 hour urine collection and rest. So...as long as I can stay well, the babies will stay inside cooking. If my bloodwork gets strange or my bp skyrockets, the babies will be delivered. Yikes!

At least with the biophysical profile, I got to see Hana and Zakaria. Hana is lounging around transverse and Zak is breech. Zak had both of his hands up in fists (probably a protective stance against his sister). Both were wiggling around like crazy. (It was funny because one of them kept punching or kicking the external monitor during the NST.) Even though they are just 28 weeks, both were already practicing breathing. So...they are doing good and got the highest score on the BPP.

My son is weird, he doesnt mind the booger sucker at all and kinda like opens up his nostril to let me do it :)

Kavi is the same way!! I think he just got so used to it. The first couple months we used it every day as he always had something up there. lol. I actually give it a squeeze to make the squeezy sound before putting it into his nostrils, and he looks at it and prepares himself!

But giving him medicine is a different thing! He hates it now after having so many droppers put into his mouth after the surgery.

@ Twila: I hope you don't have to deliver too soon.... As long as the BP stays within acceptable ranges and you don't spill protein and your liver enzymes are fine, there is no need for an early delivery... The longer the little ones can stay the better for them! I had a slightly elevated BP (which I attribute to my annoying obgyn, cause at home it was always fine) and he wanted to bully me into an induction which wasn't necessary and didn't happen... Good luck and keep us posted!

@ Evi: I kinda thought the two look alike... The picture is adorable :) I can't imagine yet having two! Jona is keeping me sleepless all the time :P I hope Allie will feel better soon...

My little one HATES the #######-sucker-thingie. I've given up; he just sneezes them out now. It works just fine actually. He developed some cradle cap which is falling off now (like dandruff everywhere)... He also is getting taller. I can't really measure him here at home, but the 3-6 months stuff is getting too snug, and 6-9 months fits just right. All the clothes are too wide though... Dunno, but it seems they are made for really fat, short babies (and mine is already really chunky!!!)? Only Carter's is on track, he's wearing size 3-6 months and it even is a little large. I swear by that brand now, as it also doesn't die in the washer like others!
