No it is not forbidden to put the seat left or right. In fact I have a 'mothership' (Toyota Sienna) and there I can only put the seat left and right since there is no bench in the back but only two separate seats. The seat in the middle on the back is the safest but you can also put it either left or right, as long as the seat is on the back bench, away from the airbags.

Haha, that's what my husband always said and he bought me the Toyota sienna. We call it my mothership and I absolutely love it. It is very convenient to get both kids into the car on their sides. It has lots of leg room and still room for other kids in the car. My parents, two kids plus Eric and I (and luggage) went to San Antonio in it without having to sit in there like sardines in a can.

I think the genetic screening tests should be up to you. I opted for both the nuchal fold and the 2nd trimester quadruple screen. First, having twins increases the risks of deformities. My mom has spina bifoda. My sister miscarried her first child at 7.5 months with a trisomy disorder. I wanted to know what the odds are to be prepared. Luckily, everything came back mostly ok. The second test came back as 1:65 for downs (which is high since I am only 33). I talked to the peri about it and he agreed with me that he thought an amniocentsis was probably unnecessary. He hadn't seen anything on the ultrasounds that seemed to indicate that and having twins and being overweight skews the results of the blood tests dramatically.

In other news, I had my babyshower this weekend. It was so much fun. My parents have bought us all the nursery furniture: 2 cribs, a dresser w/changing area on top, an armoire, and the matching glider. We have assembled all of it, except the armoire (we had to search to find it). The curtains are hung. I bought the mattresses today. Once we have it mostly put together by this weekend, I will take some pics and post them. :star:

Twila, your nursery sounds wonderful. Can't wait to see the pictures. I am always jealous of those mommies to be who got to decorate the nursery beforehand. When I was pregnant, hubby and I decided to renovate our unfinished room and make it a master bedroom. We honestly underestimated the time involved because we started the project in January and I wasn't due until the end of May. While we (well hubby really, my pregnant self wasn't doing anything more than design ideas) worked on the bedroom, we stored all our furniture in Declan's nursery, so I could barely walk in there let alone begin to decorate. At the begin of May, hubby began to get a bit worried and stepped up the pace of the project. When my water broke 3 weeks early, he was actually building a closet in the room and his first response was, no you can't have the baby yet, I have 3 more weeks to finish this! Oh well, it all worked out and Declan has his nursery now :)

Declan had his 6 month checkup. He is 27.5 inches which put him in the 90th percentile, although I wonder how accurate that is because he was squirming so much. I think he honestly may be taller. The nurse was just helping out and not used to pediatrics. Weight was 16 pounds 11.8 ounces, in the 50th percentile, my skinny boy :) He did great with the shots, only cried for a minute and then was easily consoled. The doctor said he is a little bit behind in terms of grasping for things, where most 6 month old babies are direct and purposeful, Declan is a bit more tentative. He still gets the object and has no problem getting it to his mouth. At first, I was a little bit upset about him being behind, but the doctor reminded me that he was born 3 weeks early plus having the surgery would have delayed him a bit. He is doing well in everything else. The doc just said to play with him and have him practice reaching and grasping.

Kelly, Zaid is sooo big!!!! He is such a cutie :)

Girls!

I called today to the Medical Center to make the appointment for the Fetal Anatomy Test, hubby and I decided that we want to go for it to make sure that the baby is ok and if not to be prepared. I made a million questions, first of all I was a little concern about the test and the lady from the MC told me that is a routine test, nothing to worry about, more doctors are recommending it know, she says that will take about 30 minutes and they can give me the results right away.

They can tell me the sex of the baby if I want to know.... and of course I want to know but hubby wants to be with me when we find out, this time I'll go to the appointment wiht my MIL so we agreed that I will ask the doctor not to tell me the sex of the baby but to write it on a piece of paper and sealed so when I come home wait for hubby and we both find out the sex of the baby together.

This weekend we did alot of work in the house, well mostly hubby, he finally got rid of his mini gym, thank Godness it took me almost 4 years to convince him to get rid (he never used it, it was simple decoration) of it and now we have so much space on the room, it looks gigantic! Then my best friend is coming to visit us for a few days so we are setting on place.

Well girls, time to continue cleaning

Hugs

Twila, sounds like your parents have you guys all set up... What "theme" did you do for the twins room?

Autumn, I wouldnt let what the doctor told you both you. Every baby is different and how doctors determine things is only based on stats. Declan will come around and Im sure will he right there with the rest of em. He sure has grown into an adorable little man!!!

@Autumn, don't worry about the grasping. Like the other's said, every baby developes on their own pace. Adam still doesn't speak. He can say a couple of words but some children his age can sing the ABC etc...not with Adam. He's more interested chasing the dog, digging holes, climbing stairs (without help up and down) and throwing things. He'll learn to talk whenever he is ready and Declan will learn all the other things too.

I went to the doc with Allie and Adam yesterday. Adam weighed in at 29.6lbs and Allie (3 months) at 14lbs 15oz..She's a big girl but not as big as Adam...who is probably hard to beat with almost 20lbs at 3 months. He was huge. Both of my babies are sick. Adam a little worse than Allie. He got antibiotics since his cold has been going on for 2.5 months now, which scares me. We'll see how that goes.

@Twila: Sounds like your shower was a lot of fun and you good some good stuff out of it *lol*.

@everybody: when is it too late to start decorating the baby room? I'm thinking 2 months before the due date. Is it too late? I know I'll be huge by then nd there'll be a lot to do.

@mazzella: that's so cute of you to wait and share with your husband the gender. Have you thought about having him on his cell phone while you're at the appointment?

nessa ... you up to all these tests and other things?

or just wanna be pregnant, have a baby, and have good life?

all the best form here :luv:

if you read my previous posts I mentioned I won't have any unecessary tests. I'm having the fetal anatomy u/s in 3 weeks for development, etc. and then I don't know what else is coming, it's my first pregnancy.

He was huge...had rolls everywhere. This was taken at around 3 months of age...maybe 15 weeks or so. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x244/Ev...20Adam/e35e.jpg

He evened out at around 6 months but until then he was off the charts. Luckily Allie is not like that so she can wear all the NB dresses that I got at the shower.
