Poor little Kavi, I hope he feels better soon. I don't like the "in between season" it always means being sick.

Allie started gurgeling all funny last night. She's sneezing like crazy and is sick too. I feel so sorry for her. I'm using baby vapor rup on her and some little noses to keep her nose free and now she finally fell asleep. We slept (more or less) upright on the couch all night. I think I got around 4 hours or so...Hope she'll get better soon.

Ive started giving zaid "mashed" foods and I must say he is really enjoying it.. This is so much more fun than baby food

I gave him pieces of mashed banana and boiled potatoes. Right now im steaming baby carrots and will try those later. Im sooo tired of buying baby food and I know the real stuff is so much healthier..

when i start feeding the baby with food i'll buy the least baby food possible. i'll try to cook veggies and stuff myself or teach hubster how to do the same.

My hubby and I just talked about this yesterday. We want to do the same thing.

and it doesnt take long to peel and boil a potato, or some carrots, i'll just need to learn varieties, what the baby needs and can eat.

That's what I did Nessa. In the beginning you only introduce one new food every three or four days so you feed potatoe for four days, then carrots for four days etc. THen you can mix yoghurt with banana or barley with applejuice etc..whatever you want to do. Later there comes a point when baby picks up the food itself so you can cube cooked sweet potaoes etc. The real steaming and pureeing I did for about four months or so and then Adam would pick up the food himself.

Well, you always supplement with Formula or breastmilk. You can also introduce eggyolk at an early age. In europe meat is given as a first food since it has little allergens and is not known to cause allergies. In the US they don't recommend meat until later (don't remember the months anymore).
