Hi to all who are expecting or already a mom. I am due in 1 week. My doctor said that it looks like that I will be giving birth on my due date which is November 11. We will be having a baby girl and can't wait to hold and welcome her to the new world.

When I had my prenatal check-up last Tuesday, my OB told me that my cervix is still close so, we are in a waiting game now.

Good luck to all of us who are soon to be a mom and to all moms.

Congratuations Destiny,

Just a few more days, how exciting!!!!

Today we had a busy day, went to eat some peruvian food and Oh Surprise, I didn't have any desire to eat my favorite dish in the whole world (It's called ceviche), hubby ordered a big dish for both and I have to say that I had a little nausea when I saw it  . Weird.

After that we went to Target and finally bought my first pregnancy pants, my regular pants don't fit well anymore so I got this ones for a very good price, size 2, and still a little big but fit much better than my regular pants.

I'm in week 15 and gained less than 5 pounds since the beginning of my pregnancy, still normal???

And before I forget, we got some beautiful outfits for our baby, for next Christmas, hubby went crazy!

That was our weekend, tomorrow is Monday, it sucks!!!

Have a great week girls!

Vi :star:

Hi Vi, Thanks to you too! Wow we have the same name? My name is Vhilma..hehehe. so my friends call me Vi or Vhi.

Congratz to you too! When I was not yet pregnant, I was weighing 104lbs and now I am weighing 128lbs. My doctor said that it is just ok because I am just 4'11 and I think it is also normal on your part. Probably you will gain more weight as your progress with your pregnancy.

It was funny because I cant find any pregnancy pants that has waistband at the store that will fit for me, they are all big sizes.

Good luck and stay healthy!

Hi Eveline, thanks for the info. I read some labor stories that some just lasted less than an hour and some lasted more than 24 hours. For sure, it is really hard to experience more than 24 hours labor :crying:

The motherin forum is one of my favorites. Yes, they are very green and crunchy there but always good for when you need a reality check and of course lots of information.

it's not necessary despite the fact that the complications from being infected with rotavirus are statistically far more dangerous than any side effects from it? do you know what the statistics of adverse events from receiving the vaccine vs. the risks of infection and resulting complications are? i'm well aware of the various viruses out there that cause gastroenteritis-i had an excellent microbiology prof. i just came to the conclusion that removing the risk of one of those viruses (a virus that kills 611,000 kids worldwide every year) through vaccination was a better option than leaving that one in the mix. one less virus in that mix still lowers a child's chances of becoming ill exponentially.

I beg to disagree. Also, a child doesn't die from the virus. It'll most likely die from the dehydration rota virus may cause. I'm guessing those statistics come from 3rd world countries, with limited access to medical care.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against vaccines, but this one just doesn't make much sense to me, nor does it to my pediatrician who I trust very much. Even if every parent would vaccinate their child with rotateq, it wouldn't eliminate the virus. I'm a pediatric nurse, I've seen hundreds of infants with rotas' that needed to be rehydrated at a hopsital (none of them died). I'm pretty confident that I'd rather handle my kid having the virus than taking the risk of the vaccines' possible side effects.

of course, that doesn't apply to the other vaccine-preventable dieseases. But like, Kelly and Nanny already said, every parent should decide whats best for their child.

@Nessa: good luck with the u/s! I couldn't wait to find out the sex! We didn't do the 3-d pic's something I just never considered, as they really spoiled me with a lot of free u/s. I guess we'll do it with Number 2 though, it's amazing how accurate they are!

Did anyone hear from Nane? She must have had her baby, I guess? :star:

sorry, i didn't see this until now. i've done public health nursing, so i have a tendency to look at everything in great big numbers, and the effects on populations rather than individuals. the majority of deaths occur in the third world, but there are still 20-60 deaths of children every year under the age of 5 right here in the us. it's been shown to prevent 96% of hospitalizations from the virus here in the last couple of years. so yeah, it's still around. but it's nowhere near as virulent. i guess i'm just naive for still thinking that it's a big deal for infants to be hospitalized for dehydration. exactly what side effects are supposed to so much more dangerous? according to this, "More than 71,000 infants were evaluated in three Phase 3, placebo-controlled clinical trials. Serious adverse events occurred in 2.4 percent of recipients of ROTATEQ when compared to 2.6 percent of placebo recipients within the 42-day period of a dose of ROTATEQ." i don't mean to ask in any kind of value judgment way, i'm just curious, because this is the reporting i've seen on it, and i want to know what other information is out there.

i've been thinking about going into pediatrics when i go back to work next year, i think it could be pretty fun. i enjoyed that rotation a lot in school. my neighbor keeps trying to talk me into applying for the nicu where she works because she thinks i'd really like it, but we'll see. :)

Actually my name is Ivy but I never really like it everybody in my cirlce of friends and family call me Vi.

I checked your website it's really cool, I love your pregnancy pictures. Do you have the baby name???

About my weight I started my pregnancy around 103lbs, no diets, just gym I eat normal I just don't gain weight  , now I'm really close to 108 lbs. I'm 5'2 and hubby is 6'2 - big guy- we always thought that I was going to have a huge belly (he weighed almost 10 pounds when he born) but not at all, I'm finally start to show a little bump I think all the weigh went to the upper part hahahaha they are gaining weight for sure.

I wish I gain about 20-25 pounds during my whole pregnancy,we will see...

I got the new pants at TARGET, OMG they are so comfy I'm planning to go back and get a few more or order more on line, I used to be a size 0, now I'm more a size 2.

Have a good night girls!!

Hi all, just back after seeing Daniel for 5 days. We were so excited coz this is the 1st time Daniel got to feel my tummy and hear the baby's heartbeat (I bought a pocket heartbeat monitor). The baby was gracious enough to grant us the honor of its presence one morning and Daniel was able to feel it on the right side of my tummy for about 15-20 secs and then it just moved back in. I am so happy that we were able to share it all. Now I am praying that he gets to come home for the baby's birth. BTW, I still don't know if its a boy or a girl and its killing me. I soooooo want to start shopping some.

Congrats to the newly pregnant!

I hope all the pregnant mommies are doing good. And the not pregnant mommies too. :P And I hope all the babies are well!

Kavi has a little cold, his first one! :( His voice is a little scratchy but no fever so that's good. Of course it had to happen when we are not covered under health insurance!! Our coverage ended Oct 31st since hubby got a new job, and it starts again on Dec 1st.

I need to go back a couple pages to see if people posted costume pictures. If you haven't, you should. :)

We went to a big outside church event for Halloween and Kavi was a hit! We dressed him as a skunk. I had gone to Old Navy that day and the baby costumes were only $4.99 on clearance!! I love bargains. It's a really nice/thick costume. So I picked an adorable skunk and let me tell you, we had tons of people stop us to comment on how cute it was. So next time your kid asks what they should be, go with the unthinkable --- skunk! LOL

At home playing as if he doesn't have a huge costume on, LOL

we always thought that I was going to have a huge belly (he weighed almost 10 pounds when he born) but not at all, I'm finally start to show a little bump

Ummm...not to burst your bubble...you are only 15 weeks along...you still have 25 weeks to go. Here's me with my first at 15 weeks:

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x244/Ev.../Belly/a424.jpg (actually its at 16 weeks)

and here at 40+3 weeks

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x244/Ev.../Belly/cedc.jpg

See what a difference a couple of weeks make

I NEVER in my life thought that a belly can actually grow that big but it sure can. Enjoy the time when you are still mobile and can still put on your shoes. Once winter really hits (don't know where you live) you wished you could wear flip flops...Luckily preggos are hot most of the time so I guess you actually can wear flip flops

ENjoy it.
