see, something else that i have no idea, hospitals, i know the hospital i'm gonna give birth is in overland park, it's a 1 hour and 10 min drive in good weather and road consition from my house. the reason being, they have an anesthesiologist 24/7 there, and no hospital here in town has such. but if i need to go to the hospital right now, i'd have no clue where to go.

My ob-gyn had an answering service for afterhours. I called the regular office number and explained the problem to the answering service and they had the doctor call me back. I used it twice, once when I had the flu during pregnancy and then when my water broke at night. You definitely should know what your ob-gyn's policy is for afterhours care.

you know, those are all things i've never done before and I'm doing it all by myself. all i know is from reading, and it gets twice as difficult being in another country.

that makes 2 of us. i've never been pregnant in another country either :D

does any of the hositals close by have a operating room/ ob/gyn unit? if yes, then this is the place to go in case of emergency. Give your ob/gyn a call and ask them what to do. It doesn't hurt to have it all written down in case of an emergency when you are running around like crazy trying to remember what to do. I'd also keep track somerwhere of how far along you are, blood type, any comlications so far etc.

In Germany every expecting mother gets a little booklet where they write down blood test results, ultrasounds, complications, blood pessure, and all these measurements and such, so that in case of an emergency they know that you are actually preggers and not "Just a little overweight"

Ladies!

Just came back from my doctor's appointment, she checked my lungs my chest and everything seems fine but still I cannot stop coughing, she gave me a precription for an antibiotic called ZPack and I'm suppouse to start taking 2 today and just one the following days. She recommended me to go for the Flu shot but for that I have to make an appointment with my regular doctor and that is a real adventure..

We got to see the baby, he/she was sucking his tumb, it was so cute.

Take care ladies I'm going to pick up my medicine...

Vi

I got a little sick (sneezing, coughing, congestion) the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy, and my doctor gave me the same medicine. It didn't do a darn thing

We meet with a second physical therapist and she said Jaylyn looked great. She is at 10 month developmentally is what she told us. The speech thearpist comes on Monday. I think she is fine because she loves to talk to me or any stranger.

A speech therapist for a six month old? I don't remember if I missed anything that happened to Kayla or so but is there any reason she might need a speech therapist?

@Nessa: Cute belly. Keep on growing

Hi ladies,

Not sure if you remember me, I posted on here throughout my pregnancy. Well I had my baby on October 9th. Her name is Amaya Elise, she weighed 7 lbs 2 oz when she was born and is about 8 lbs now. Being a new mom is definitely overwhelming but I am so happy. I will be probably come on here asking new mommy questions.

Here are some pictures of Amaya:

Hi all.

Kavi is being very cute lately, but he is still waking up at night. I think he's going to be one of those who doesn't sleep better until after turning a year old. I don't know what's up. Maybe he is teething again, he already has 8 teeth and I am sure others are coming through soon. He wakes up at least twice during the night crying hard right away and seems hungry. He must have a small stomach still, b/c at almost 9 months old he will not eat more than 6 oz in a bottle still, that's his limit, or maybe 6.5oz which is rare. He does eat baby food and a small amt of finger foods now. I just want better sleep! :( I know, it will pass eventually. He was doing better before the surgery, half the week sleeping at least 8 hours. After the surgery he started waking up much more often, it messed up his whole sleep schedule.

Congrats mommy2be!!! She's adorable!

Tracy-I looked at the new pictures of Drew, awww he is getting so big, and he looks very handsome and definitely has boy written all over him. Thanks for sharing! :luv:

Nessa-Cute perfect pregnant belly! I took a lot of belly pictures while pregnant, though none with my bare belly b/c I don't even want to see that, LOL. I didn't post any here b/c I was too self conscious b/c I'm not skinny. I wanted to, but just didn't.

Nessa - cute belly pics :)

Tracy - Drew is such a cutie :)

Mommy2Be - Congratulations, she is beautiful.

Stina - I feel your pain ... Declan seems to only sleep well when he is upright in his carseat or bouncer. His doctor has recommended that he sleeps upright now while he is recovering from the ear infection, so he is sleeping 7-8 hours straight, but I know as soon as he returns to his crib, it will be back to waking up every 4 hours or so :(

It is totally normal for a 7 month old to wake up a lot at night. They learn a lot, there's so much to see and explore during the day that it keeps them up at night. Adam seemed to practice sitting up in bed every night and then cry, cause he couldn't lay back down. It will pass. At 12 months Adam would finally go down on his own, without crying in the evening and ever since bed time is pure bliss. He gets his blankey, paci and off he goes. He doesn't cry, run back out or anything...It's wonderful
