The mamama thing is so cute!! Kavi hasn't really said that one much yet. :( I don't know if it's because he is hearing different languages, but he has been saying vavavava or wawawawwa or heyyyy(sounds like hey) a lot. We laugh because isn't vavava harder to say than mamama? So why doesn't he just say ma? lol He has said ma only a couple times, but just in his baby rambling.

He started giving kisses!! He gave me one yesterday out of nowhere, it's to die for. He grabs your face and opens his mouth and slobbers on you. Also he is really crawling now, which I find interesting since for about 4 days we didn't let him try to crawl and before that he was mostly scooting. So somehow he just knew how to crawl when we let him go back on the floor. He has two top teeth now too, (and the two bottom teeth) and a new bottom tooth, and many to follow.

I also wanted to say that yesterday was Kavi's follow up surgery visit, they took off his bandages and his tube. He was not happy about the bandage part. The poor boy screamed when it was getting taken off. He never screams. The Dr worked fast thankfully but I think Kavi got very startled from the pain of the sticky bandages getting taken off. He didn't cry, but he let out two screams. :( He is doing okay though. His whole area is tender and swollen but it didn't look as bad as I thought it would. Now we apply neosporin to it for a couple weeks. I will be very happy when he is healed and this is over with totally. We go back to the urologist Dr in 2 1/2 weeks for another follow up.

aaww poor little guy!!! At least it sounds like everything is healing as it should be!!!

Kaila says Hey or somthing that sounds like that too...other than that she just babbles to herself or grunts at the dogs as they walk past...it is so cute to watch her reach for them or try to roll over to them...the dogs on the other hand are not as exctied to see her so they get up and walk away....oh well....

Is there anyone dealing with reflux??/If yes, need tips.My son has what is called INVISIBLE REFLUX(acording to his doctor)He was doing fine ,but a week ago started to get really fussy when I feed him, sometimes doesnt want to eat at all.At the begining I thought he was teething, because he is having some of the signs that he could be..we went to the doctor on monday and he said he is not. What is causing that is the reflux.I am confused ,cause he is 4 months old and only now he is acting like that.Is that normal,I mean ,that the reflux would start to really bother him after 4 months? The doctor even prescribed a medicine I need to give twice a day.

Is it possible that you introduced him to some new food and that causes the reflux to start at this point? WHat is the doc saying?

No,it is not that.He is not on solids yet.His doctor told me to wait until he is 6 months;I thought that was weird, cause I see babies here that are 4/5 months that are already on solid. He told me it is better forthe baby if you wait longer...

about the reflux:is your doctor suggesting any further diagnostics to make sure it really is reflux? Is your baby spitting up a lot? Vomiting? Not gaining weight? Arching his back during and after feedings? crying hard after feedings?

Those are all symptoms for reflux, though a lot of babies have "normal reflux" (without weight loss) and it goes away after 6 months. If the infant doesn't gain sufficient weight, then there should be further diagnostics done, like inserting a tube, that measures the pH in the esophagus over a 24 hour period.

If the infant has acid reflux then there are medications that stabilize the stomach acid, so there will be no damage in his throat/esophagus.

What you can also do to help, is elevate his upper body esp. after feedings/ put a pillow underneath baby's crib matress, so the matress will be elevated (don't let baby sleep on the pillow). And try more frequently feedings with smaller amounts of milk/formula.

Feeding: it's currently recommended to breast/formula feed for the first 6months exclusively. A lot of parents start at 4months, but if your baby already has digestive issues, I'd wait until he's 6 months old. Good luck.
