Hi Girls!

Hope everything is well, here I'm not doing so good with horrible nauseas and barely keeping food in my stomach, some friends suggested crackers, others ginger ale, water, what else is good??? I checked my weight this morning and realized that instead of gaining weight I'm loosing weight, I look really sick, and is funny that everybody here is saying that I don't look so good, I'm going to have a girl. .

Take care girls and have a good weekend!

Vi

I was pretty sick, too, for about 4 months. I tried everything anyone suggested, and (unfortunately) nothing helped. Try to eat little, bland meals several times a day. You don't want to lose too much weight!

Lots of people told me I was going to have a girl, too

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

An old wife's tale says that "boys bring you beauty, girls take the beauty", meaning that with a girl, you are miserable during pregnancy. Having had a boy and a girl I must say, I was more nauseous with Allie but not very much and only for two weeks just like with Adam. My skin however was BEAUTIFUL. I didn't have any issues with pimples or blemishes while pregnant with Allie. So...from my point of view that myth is BUSTED and so not true.

Declan is so long that he is wearing 9-12 month clothes too. Width wise, they are baggy, but the length is right. Some of the 6 month clothes still fit, but not a lot. And he has huge feet too so even if the pajamas fit, the feet part are too small!

Declan will be a horse for Halloween. I have no idea what we are doing, maybe just dressing him up and giving out candy, but I had to get a costume for him!!!

BTW, how do you put a pic in your signature? I want to show you guys new pics of Declan, but every time I try to attach one, it says the file is too big.

Were having the same problem. I measured Jay a couple days ago and she is 27 inches now. She is wearing 6-9 months clothes. She by passed the 3-6 months clothes. We barely used them at all. We never got to use her swim suit. We are still waiting for baby swim lessons. We are on a waiting list.

Par- I am so glad that Kavi is doing better and able to move more.

Met Jan 1998, vows on 2006, Jay Jay born 2008, baby 2 - 2011

@Chnst: You also have to buy a bra in size EEE and stuff it cause as far as I remember I have never seen that lady's face since her chest ist just so um....eyecatching :rofl:

 yeah, that's a problem I'm still trying to figure out.... I guess I'll give our sofapillows a try, hehe!

@nane: My hubby was the best. I have to admit, I was nervous how he would cope with all the mess but he was amazing. Even the nurses wanted to keep him, haha! I was surprised at how much just his presence helped me.

Labor is no walk in the park but it was the most amazing moment in my life to hear Ben's first cry after all that hard work. Good luck I hope everything will go well for you! Are you still having a boy? I think I remember that you were having a boy...

I totally feel you! I got sick around 9 weeks and it lasted really bad until 14 weeks and then slowly subsided. I felt like a Zombie and probably looked like one as well!

What helped a little bit was eating saltine crackers, usually already before getting out of bed. I heard about these "preggo pops", candy that is supposed to help with the nausea, but I never got to try them.

However, I tried accupressure and that seemed to work at least a little bit.

If you google accupressure and nausea, you will get some hits on where exactly the pressurepoints are. THey are at your wrist, but I don't want to give you the wrong instructions.

But I would give it a try!

I know the nausea is horrible, I had it 24/7, no kidding and I lost weight too. But don't worry, as long as you eat something and take your prenatals, your baby will be fine. And you will gain the weight later, I promise.

The myth about having a girl when you feel bad like that is SO NOT TRUE!!! We are having a boy (at least that's what the last u/s @ 19 weeks said).

My skin looked pretty good too though!

I have a labor question: Who of you guys had an epidural and who went without pain meds?

I'd like to try without and I think I have the right attitude to give it a shot, but I am afraid it will all take a long time and wear me out plus, the clinic I have to go to is totally pro epidural. They almost set you up for it, I guess it's easier on them too..or they don't like to hear any screaming and crying women all the time;-)

Anyway, what are your experiences?

I had an epidural. My original plan had been to try to go without. At first, it was fine, but because my water had broken, but my contractions were not consistent, the doc decided to give me pitocin after awhile. After I had the pitocin, all of the techniques I had been using earlier (breathing, birthing ball, the tub) did not help nearly as much. My contractions with the pitocin were lasting 3 minutes (of the actual full-on contraction) and coming rapidly. I did end up deciding to have an epidural, which, for me, was the right decision. It did not totally take away the pain, but it really helped make it bearable.

I got my first epidural at 8cm, about 15 mins later i informed the doctor i felt no difference...he checked me out and decided to take it out and do it again...so we did, and again.. the 2nd epidural made no difference..the doc informed me that i was tolerant to pain meds and that I was just going to have to deal with it...and i did, and it wasnt that bad...they gave me some local anastetic for my "area" when i needed to get an episiotomy and also when it was time to stitch back up, but other than that, that was it, they never even asked if i wanted anything in my IV .

What i do know is everyone handles labor differently..I was 6cm before i even felt pain and it wasnt unbearable til his head was crowning..On the other hand there was a lady across the hall from me who was only 1cm dilated and was screaming at the top of her lungs..Its different.

I had an epidural too. I wanted to try to go without one as long as possible, but it got really bad after my water broke at 8cm. and OMG it was soooo nice! I didn't feel anything for 2 hours, which gave me time to rest and it made me more confident to get through the delivery. I pushed for almost 3hours and I don't think I could have done it if i hadn't had the epidural. The contractions would have totally worn me out. By the way- putting the needle in wasn't half as bad as the i.v.! I felt a little pressure and then the pain was gone!
