belwin, i agree, i have never heard of any of those 3 things...dont all babies at some point stand on their toes? and stickin her tongue out? shes probably just having fun with all these body parts she has found on her...I seriously dont think either of those things could be problems, i am no doctor, but i might get a second opinion

@ Chsnt - LOL! Hubby would love to be able to move to find a good job, but unfortunately I am bound by a contract for several more months until we can even think about it. It would be nice to have a new mommy buddy though!!!! :)

We bought Declan's Halloween costume today - he will be a horse. It is so adorable. Of course, we probably won't do anything for Halloween, but I just had to have it for him!

I have had fatigue beyond all fatigue lately. I am at 19.5 weeks. I have resorted to call the twins "parasites" because they are sucking all my energy out of me.

Thanks Ladies. We are going to see what the physical thearpist thinks. We are waiting now to see if our health insurance will be taken.

Eww morning sickness. That is great Chrissy that you don't have morning sickness. If I didn't have it for 9 months straight I think about another little one soon but I need a breather first.

Girls, help me out. I moved to US with my 1.9 year old toddler and i don't know what to give him to eat - healthy. DO you give your toddlers regular milk - which kind - skimmed or whole milk?? Do you give your babies cereal? whta kind?

at his age you should still give him whole milk. amy best advice is to watch for all the sugar in products - many cereals have a LOT of unnecessary sugar. When my son was between 1 and 2 he loved cheerios cereal also I made him plain oatmeal cooked with some milk then mixed with pureed fruit or baby food fruit. Whole wheat toast with some cheese or a little peanut butter, things like that...

read the ingredients. They put high fructose corn syrup into everything here in the us which is #######. Try to avoid that and use organic food whenever you can. Cheerios ar a great cereal for kids, like Sarah said. Unfortuntely the US doesn't have many restrictions about harmful ingredients and the few laws they do have are hardly enforced at all.

yes you can buy whole milk pretty much everywhere. The difference is that it has more fats than 2% milk or 1% milk or skim milk (fat free). If your husband doesn't like whole milk, then maybe you can compromise on 2% milk for your baby.

My doctor (and most baby advice books, etc) say that whole milk is important for the first couple of years because the fats are necessary for proper brain development. I dont think its a good idea to substitute 2% for whole. at our house we just buy 2 things of milk, whole for the little one and lowfat for the grownups :)

as far as food additives, its true there are a lot of scary processed things (like high fructose corn syrup) but its certainly far from impossible to feed your children a healthy diet. Just try to do most of the cooking and preparation yourself with fresh ingredients and for those things like bread and cereal you need to learn to be a vigilant label reader. Organic tends to be better and there are plenty of choices available at most grocery stores if you take a little time in your selection. Good luck!

Hi everyone,

I had a hard time finding this thread, I hadn't been on in a while.

Nessa that is so lovely about your ultrasound, I remember my first, althoughi t was very heartwarming, I also didn't cry and I thought I would but mostly I was just happy the baby was healthy and the heartbeat was strong. Also mine wasn't as clear.

About the Halloween costumes, I was thinking of getting one for my baby, she would probably only be a couple of weeks old and that's if she comes on time. Is it silly to get her a costume? My friends think its silly but I really just want to do it for the pictures. I saw a cute lady bug costume that would go with the ladybug theme in her nursery.

Oh and congrats to those that are newly pregnant. I remember how tired I felt those first four moths. After about 20-21 weeks my morning sickness and fatigue went away and I had a really good second trimester for the most part. Now in my third trimester, the fatigue has come back with a vengeance and lots of back pain but at least no morning sickness.

2% is just fine too. I used to teach toddler nutrition classes and it's ok to start with reduced fat milk and then go over to whole milk or 2% if the child is on a well balanced diet. The only thing with milk is that it contains a lot of protein and a small child shouldn't have more than 4g/day, because that could harm their kidneys. 4g equals 350ml/milk/day).

If the child tends to be overweight, it's recommended to give him/her low fat milk.

@mommy2be: of course get her a costume! I don't have one for Ben yet but we are definitely planning on dressing him up. It's their first Halloween after all and that picture has got to go into the baby book!

We are having a big Halloween party at our neighbourhood, so all the candy he gets will go straight into my pocket!:P
