We told my family the day I took the test. We thought about waiting a few days but we just couldn't. I surprised them. They knew we were trying to get pregnant, and I took a test that morning that was positive. I saw my mom during the day and lied about it and hid it(sooo hard) b/c I wanted to wait until Sujeet was home from work to tell them all together. So we went over their house that night, with an excuse of why we were stopping by, and I gave them a letter there that was written from their future grandbaby. I wish I had taped my mom's reaction, she was jumping up and down and screaming. (it was their first grandkid) :)

I am sorry to hear about the babies who are sick, aw. Hope they feel better soon!

Thankfully Kavi hasn't gotten sick yet, which I find amazing since he's already 7 months, but his teething does bother him. He is still waiting for the top teeth to come through and he moans sometimes.

ADAM IS OFF TO DAYCARE :dance::dance: . I left him with his 'teacher' at 8:30am and he couldn't have cared less if I was there or not. He found a ball and ran around saying "Boooooohhh???" (which means 'ball') and I just gave him a smooch and took off. He didn't come after me or anything. All that counted was the ball, haha. I'm glad he is such a trooper, makes it easier for me.

I have to go pick him up soon but today was great. I got an extra hour of sleep and some alone time with Allie. She is doing a little bit better and slept pretty good last night.

I called my mom and dad and hubby called his parents after the home pregnancy test came back positive. We wanted to wait a little longer to tell others though in case anything happened in the first trimester. However, my body outed me .... I had wicked morning sickness and kept having to leave my sessions to go throw up (I am a psychotherapist). I had to explain to my clients why I was dashing out :)

Eveline - Glad you had a bit of time with just you and Allie and that she is feeling better.

Well, I got the report from the state on the allegations of abuse at Declan's daycare. There are some serious allegations, mostly directed at this one teacher who has been fired. It was alleged she hit kids on the back of their heads, yelled at them while holding them up to her face, forced them to eat by putting food in their mouth and them putting her hand over the mouth. It was alleged that, when a kid did not get up quickly enough from a nap, she pulled his mat out and he fell and hit his head and got a big bump. It was also alleged that the director (who has resigned) did not report suspicion of child abuse and neglect and told staff members not to report their suspicions, she also allegedly treated kids who spit by wiping their spit across their faces. I was sick reading these allegations. This all occurred in the preschool room. I am keeping Declan there for now, as both the teacher and the director are gone. I will be monitoring it very closely and making pop in visits frequently.

Oh my, that makes me sick to my stomach. I wonder how long that person has been working with children. She either must have been pretty fed up or just generally mad at kids. I'm glad she got fired and I'm glad the director resigned. Will you still send Declan to that daycare or look for someone else? It didn't happen in Declan's group right?

Adam didn't do as well as I thought he would. Apparently he cried quite a bit, didn't sleep and didn't eat. I just now fed him and he's in bed napping now. Poor little thing. The teachers told me that he clung to one of them all the time (she kinda looks a little bit like me, maybe that is why) and she couldn't even go to the bathroom without him crying. He gave her a big hug before we left. I guess he still has to learn that mommy will come back after a while. I still think it is good to send him to daycare, he needs to have some social interaction with other kids.

carrie, how did aymans shots go? what were his measurements?

zaid was about 16.5 lbs and about 28 inches...

Been a long weekend. He was not feeling well to begin with, then they go and ####### him with needles. Poor little guy got 4 shots and 1 oral. I was by myself, but we did pretty good. He stopped crying as soon as they were done and I picked him up. I gave him his bottle and he was ok then. Toward the evening he started to get a little fussy, then by bedtime he was crying in pain. I kept massaging his little legs and moving them around so they didn't get too stiff. He had a fever Friday night, all day Saturday and it finally broke Sunday morning. He was not wanting to eat and when I could get him to eat, he would end up throwing it all up. He's doing better today, but still has a nasty cough. He got lots of pampering this weekend to the point he would cry every time I left the room even if dad was there. Daddy says he is spoiled, but I think he was just clingy cause he didn't feel well. He was 16.7 pounds, 26 1/2 inches and can't remember the head, but it was in the 95th percentile.

@ Eveline - For now, I am still sending Declan there.... and keeping my eyes open and being even more watchful than I already was. It seems like it was one staff person and the director, and they are both gone. We live in a rural area and there are not that many providers who accept infants. We are on the waiting list at a few places. The sad thing is, the daycare he goes to has the best reputation in the area and, before this, had the least violations. I have been looking up all the licensed providers and many of them have lengthy lists of violations. I really wish my mom would decide to move closer and watch him, but I don't see that happening :(

Ok guys, as most of you already know I recently gave birth and i had an emergency C section. This morning i noticed the the wound was bleeding and I rushed to the ER, I thought it poped open or something. There is no pain just blood and yellowish discharge. The doctor said I will be fine and gave me some antibiotics to avoid infection. The problem is that I have to return to work at the end of this week and I am afaraid it would get worse or painfull. Considering mostly mothers and mothers to be are reading this topic I wanted to get a 2nd opiniot on this.. Would you go back to work or just stay home? Anything different you'd do to treat this wound??? Please let me know I am very afaraid if it gets infected... Thanks,

I'd go see your OB/GYN and have him look at it. Have him make sure that everything is ok.

Desire,

Didn't you just give birth to your little boy on August 30th? What in the world are you doing going back to work already???

If women have uncomplicated vaginal births it is recommended that you rest and recover for at least 6 weeks after birth...if you have a c-section, I believe that increases to 8 weeks or longer! Please, take it easy and talk to your doctor before you head back to work!

You need other people taking care of you at this stage--the increased bleeding is your body's way of telling you that you are doing too much already!

OMG desire, your baby is precious...and TINY!!!

Carrie, Im sorry that Ayman has such a reaction to vaccines..Poor baby...He looks so much chunkier than zaid, yet, is the same weight...their both such cutie patooties!!!

Zaid did well with the new babysitter, she said he woke up grumpy, but, i figured, he is waking to a strange person and a strange place, id be cranky too, and he will get over it..

Eveline, I worked in day cares before coming to the bank and i can say that you putting adam in an environment where he is interacting with other kids will benefit hmi SOOO greatly in the future.. i have seen soo many kids who didnt do play groups or day care and at 3-4 years old they are BRATS!!!! Hopefully in time he will do better there...

carolyn, i see you down there...i NEED a pic of your lil man

He's doing much better thanks. I think I got that cover at Target, but not sure. Ayman loved his boppy, but it too big for it now. He wants to sit straight up instead of laying inclined. He thinks he is a big boy. lol

Desire I had the same problem with my incision. I went to the Dr and they told me everything was fine, nothing popped. She said a little blood and discharge is normal as long as it is not gushing blood. I had a couple spots that would just trickle blood, but nothing serious. It will go away as it heals.

Autumnchik-I'm glad those people aren't at the daycare and it sounds like you are doing a good job of keeping an eye out. I hope everything goes fine there now.

Tomorrow is Kavi's follow up appt about his hypospadia and they will decide when to do the surgery. Kavi is so active now, I can't imagine how it will be after the surgery for him.

Desire-

I also had leakage from the incision and the Dr said it was normal unless the area got very red and painful so it's good they gave you antibiotics to prevent infection.

You really need to rest and not work yet if possible. After a c-section your body needs more time to heal and you can't even lift much. I wasn't even supposed to drive for a week or two afterwards. I wasn't up to driving anyway. You have to be careful and not overdue it or more scar tissue than normal will form. I hope you feel better!

This may be an obvious use for a boppy but it took me a bit to remember. I wondered, what am I going to use this for now? It had been in a closet for a couple months. Well when Kavi started to learn to sit, he would topple over all the time and still does occasionally and so I put the boppy around him so when he falls he doesn't hit his head. He lands on the boppy.

Stina - Please keep me posted about Kavi's surgery. We have scheduled Declan's for December 16.

I will. :) I am guessing it will be mid to late October for his. I don't really think about it a lot yet, maybe because I don't want to think about that he has to get surgery and then will be in pain. :( The closer it gets, the more worried I'll probably get.

Here are pictures I took the day after Kavi turned 7 months old. :P
