good luck with bananas...zaid has eczema VERY bad, i have to religiously give him a bath every morning and rub him down with a thick coat of eucerin cream, if i skip one day, he has patches all over his lil body..how many shots did kaila have to get? zaid goes next week and im not looking forward to it

she got three in the legs and a oral drink...she liked the drink part....the shots not so much....

She was diagnosed with eczema as well and was put on a 2.5% hydrocortizone cream which took it off her face, but then it spread to the other parts of her body. and it seems to go away when she doesn't take a bath. so i don't know what is going on....it is making me crazy!

here is a pic of her with it on her face is this what Zaid's looks like?

Sorry about the skin problems.

Just remember that bananas are another binder like rice, so you may need to add water to the banana so Kaila doesn't have constipation.:P (if that's still going on).

i know i need to remember that! so far she is doing well with that.,..the pears have helped A LOT with it...and when i make her oatmeal in the morning i use pear juice which seems to help a lot....everything is such a guessing game...

speaking of pooping....Eveline how is you little girl doing with her movements?

zaids isnt on his face, but everywhere else...what kind of soap do you use? and what kind of laundry soap? we use the plain pink johnsons, and i just wash his face with a washcloth and warm water..and i dont wash his hair with soap either...if i do, he breaks out..have you tried the eucerin cream? the reason it gets better when you dont bathe her is cuz the moisture comes back to her skin..when you put eucerin or something on her it locks in the moisture..i hope it gets better, pretty soon they wil be at the age where they will learn how to scratch it and it will make it much worse...

boo to the shots...i have to go by myself this time and i dont know how i will be able to do it..i balled last time

Aww Kaila looks adorable even with the ezcema. :)

On the topic of a future baby....I'll be happy whether we have another boy or a girl instead, but I do hope we have a girl so I can buy cute girly stuff too! :luv: If that doesn't happen, I will accept it but I want to buy girly stuff. :P A lot of my friends who have had babies over the past couple years had girls so I did get to buy a lot for them, and Kavi is one of the firs boys born in a long time so he was special in that way. If I have another boy I will see it as God's way of evening the boy to girl ratio in my family(lots of girls in my and sujeet's side) and friend circle.

speaking of pooping....Eveline how is you little girl doing with her movements?

She is still grunting the nights away. My MIL took Adam over night so that the two of us could get some sleep (she usually starts to really sleep around 6am until then it's just all grunting) and Adam wouldn't wake us up at 7am. Her poop is fine, she goes about 4 times a day, which is still about 12 times short of what DS did, haha and the poo looks hard cause the diapers suck the moisture up real quick. I have been squirted on a couple of times now so I know it's nice and runny  (TMI, I know).

We got this new memory foam mattress a couple of months back and it was our holy little piece of furniture but since Allie has arrived it seems that our entire life happens on that mattress. I change her there and then Adam likes to sit up on the bed to watch me or do things he's not supposed to (he knows I can't run after him since I'm changing allie). Anyway...for the past two weeks this mattress got peed on twice, had rootbeer spilled all over it and got pooped on twice...that poor thing. I can't even tell DH or he'll give me a speech :whistle:

lets see what have i used, Johnson and Johnson reg and one with coco butter/shea butter....Eucerin body wash, Baby Magic(i used this after i was told she might be allergic to J&J) also a all natuaral Oatmeal soap which actaully made it a little better. as far as lotions J&J reg. and coco/shea butter, Eucerin, Aveno Eczema, Baby Eczema cream I have tried all of these for a while it seems to get better then it gets worse again...Laudry soap is for sensitive skin it is dye free ect... As far as the scratching that is was the ped. i worried about because it may leave scars.....

I hate the shots as well Kaila holds her breath when she screams...hhmm i wonder where she got that from?? as a child i always held my breath when i cried....

D has eczema really bad too.. the ONLY thing that is working is the 'fougera mometasone furoate cream' when he breaks out really bad.. he is only allowed to take a bath 2x a week.. our pedi said baths is really bad for a child who has eczema plus he is not allowed to go in the pool.. clorine is bad for his skin too.. the other creams that work for eczema is eucerine and cetaphil (the walgreens brand works too) we use a german shampoo/body wash (that was the only one he didnt break out) and cetaphil got shampo/wash and soap too.. it HELPS a lot..!! we used huggies, walmart brand, aveeno and johnsons & johnsons but he breaks out all the time.. as for the laudry.. we use the baby dreft and NEVER use softener cuz the skind breaks out with that too.. i dont put his clothes in the dryer.. i just hang them up on the drying rack and iron them when they are dry.. ohh and DO NOT use those WET ONES (antibacterial hands/face wipes) cuz he/she will break out too!! use the sani hands for kids wipes that are at walmart for about $3.. they work much better for eczema kids.. as for teh food.. since he has eczema really bad he is only alwoed to eat bananas, white grapes and pears.. NO other fruit.. vitamin C is really bad for eczema and since he eats thsoe 3 fruits his eczema is almost gone!! he only got a lil behind his ears, knees and hands.. i bet i forgot a bunch.. if u got more questions just ask me..

get a matress protector NOW! I don't know how many times I've spilled stuff in bed and I just washed matress cover and nothing got on the matress.

Hubby is extremely "strict" with me and food/baby in bed.:hehe:

@Excema: maybe she's allergic to certain foods. Are you feeding her solids yet? Maybe you should hold it off until she's 6 months old.

Diapers: I use the 7th generation chlorine free diapers. Ben doesn't have any allergies, but I just don't like the chemical smell of Huggies and Pampers. They're more environmental-friendly too.

Check out www.cosmeticsdatabase.com they have a huge list of baby-stuff that's gentle to sensitive skin.

Ladies.. for the skin... try a little bit of the bag balm on the skin... if not bagbalm ... try A&D ointment. A&D has two varieties.. one that is medicated. and a non medicated one.. you should try the ointment.. it is clear.. alot of times it is used for sore lil bottoms..

Janak had trouble with his skin... they had him soak put lotion.. put oil etc. still wasnt clearing.. I sent him some bagbalm and A&D ointment..

for the parts thatwere more .. rashy.. like the eczema.. the A&D works great.. more of the dry parts the Bag Balm works.

Side note.. when my daughter was teething.. she would get such red chapped lips and surrounding mouth.. I would keep A&D ointment on her skin.. it would heal right up.

A&D ointment is very useful for skin ailments.

A&D ointment is made of a petrolium base. with Vitimins A&D. which is used to heal skin.
