as anybody here heard of Bag Balm??

I was lurking around and saw this. I have heard of it and we actually have a jar in our bathroom we use all the time. Great stuff but it stains and has a strong smell. You can use it for all sorts of things.

cool.. I am having issues with a rash under my boobs and I heard that was good for that.. I also heard that some people used that foot spray stuff...

Never heard of it Marilyn.

Yardiewife-Of course you are welcome to post and lurk! I always read here and sometimes posted before I was pregnant, way before I was pregnant!

I just wanted to share something cute. Kavi does this lip thing when he's scared or something is hurting him(teething, bumped on a toy, etc). It's so precious but it breaks my heart! He sticks out his bottom lip and looks so adorable but I know when he does that it means he really needs mom or dad. He rarely does it so when he does we know something is wrong. I don't want him to be scared or in pain ever, but I can't help loving that lip when it happens.

Michael does something similar; if he bumps his head or otherwise hurts himself he'll get this distressed look on his face for about a second or two, then it's time to cover your ears. :)

Aww, hehe. Kavi doesn't get very loud yet, but I am sure his volume will increase with age. He whimpers when his lip goes out.

Haha, Ben does "the lip thing" everytime I turn the blender on and it just breaks my heart because he looks so scared but yet so cute!

Kelly-well at least you got your answer! It is nerve wracking sometimes. Since my period is still getting back to the old schedule I still get a little paranoid near the end of each cycle, even though it can't really be possible that I'd get pregnant but things can still happen anyway! I just say paranoid b/c of not feeling ready yet. If it happened I'd be happy with it.

Chnst-Aww the lip thing really is precious hehe.

@Kiki: Good to hear from you again. Your little girl is so precious and not sooo little anymore. I can't believe how fast time flies. ADam ist already 18 months old...crazy.

I think I've had enough of having children so far. I know after Adam I wanted another baby right away. I think he was three months old and I just wanted to be pregnant again. We put it off for a while and I got preggo again when he was eight months old. Now I have no desire (yet) to have another one and I don't think we'll go past two unless I get pregnant unplanned or so. I can tell already that it is going to be very stressful, especially with DH not being home for five out of seven days. I hope not to lose my mind and patience with Adam but it's hard. I guess we'll just have to get past the first few months and then it's going to get easier.

Oh...Allie is a grunter just like ADam was so I know that for the first three months I will be spending nights on my back with a baby on my belly  . Every now and then I can roll her off of me and turn but it doesn't last for long and she starts to grunt and strain again.

Eveline-Sorry you are feeling stressed but it's so normal I am sure. I was so overwhelmed after Kavi was born and did not want Sujeet going back to work after a week. But as you know, it does get easier b/c you adjust to it. Just remember how you adjusted to having your first and I think soon you will feel adjusted to having 2 at once. I hope Adam can be a helper for you and listen to you always hehe. About the grunting, do you mean like congested sounds? Kavi always sounded congested and he slept in his stroller with it laying back(but still somewhat upright) for the first 3 months or so. That helped him. We would swaddle him and then latch the stroller belt around his swaddling. Maybe you can try that instead of having to have the baby sleep on you.

i don't know about bag balm working on that, and that stuff smells awful. but in many cases, rashes like that can be fungal, and the same anti-fungal sprays and creams used for feet will work elsewhere too. if it persists after trying that though, i'd see a dr.

Wow, so many posts I had to catch up on. Ladies, I completely agree with the pregnancy worries .... I am taking the pill and also using spermicide because now is NOT the time to have another baby, but I still get worried about it sometimes!!!

Eveline - I can imagine how overwhelming it feels now, with hubby being gone most of the week. You are an amazing mother and will get through this (although you might have to rip your hair out a little bit!!! LOL)

Nanny - you are impressive with everything you have going on, you still stay so positive. I need to learn from you because I am having a hard time remaining positive right now.

We just got the medical bills for Declan's surgery. When he was in the hospital, I had called the insurance to make sure it would be covered. Apparently, the HOSPITAL is a participating provider, but what I did not realize is that the physicians all bill separately for their services and they are not covered. So we owe $20,000 for doctor's fees. Coming at a time when I am the only one working, it is just overwhelming. I try to remind myself that I can negotiate a payment plan, but it still seems so overwhelming to have that much debt. I am going to talk to someone on Monday about possible financial aid, but they told me it goes by past earnings, and when we were both working, we were much better off financially, so I am not sure if we will qualify. ARGH!!!!

Oh no! I'm so sorry! I can't believe they didn't tell you that. It really doesn't make sense at all that each doctor bills seperately! And wasn't it rather an emergency surgery? Did you discuss this with your insurance company? maybe you guys can negotiate something.... I can't believe how complicated the health system works over here!

I feel so bad for you! I hope you guys can work this out! (F)

AWWW all the babies are sooo beautiful... and growing soo well..

I am here all the time reading.. checking in on y'all ... Just my lil motherly thing.. haha..

Everyone seems to be doing so good congratulations..

Marilyn.. I saw you asked about Bagbalm.... bagbalm is good for dryness. cracked skin.

such as a eczema or psoriasis form of skin rash.. in the oldendays it was used to put on the udders of cows to keep the nipples from cracking..

I sent Janak some bagbalm for his skin.. (psorias) it helped the cracks heal and stimulated new smooth skin growth.

Many people dont like to suggest it for human mommas breast cause of the taste . and babies might not like.. also .chemical..

but for you ... having the rash under the breasts is usually more of a Yeast infection.. the rash that typically forms along the bra line under the boobs . gets red hot and nasty.. yes yeast..

What works best is.. over the counter Monostat.. yes the same cream that is used for female yeast . It is good to have around anyhow even if you dont have female problems.. works well for any of those hot moist irritated areas that those yeastie bugs like to set up house at. Also if anyone has dogs with ear troubles.. with Yeast problems in the ears.. it is also useful to usefor a topical there too..

About the grunting, do you mean like congested sounds?

No, she is actually straining, like she's constipated (which she is not since she 'sprayed' poop all over the bed the other day  ). She turns all red and hands and feet fly around like crazy. Adam did exactly the same up until three months. I don't know if it's my milk or something I eat. She doesn't have it during the day, only at night, which is weird. LIke I said...Adam was just like that. He'd start grunting every night at 230am (you could set your clock after that) and it was over at around 9am. Allie's seems to be over around 7ish. She's not spitting up an unusual amount of milk and doesn't seem to be in any pain. Maybe it's just normal baby noises...I don't know.

I had her sleep in her bassinett last night. She lasted from 11 until 2 and then I took her in our bed but it felt good to be able to roll around all I wanted and sleep on my belly...

HUGS to you!!! trust me i have my moments of pure insanity that i just wanna crawl under a rock! But then I see Kaila looking at me and depending on me to stay strong and that helps me get through the day! I remind myslef tomorow is a brand new day! Everything will look up for you!! Just stay focused things always have a way of working themselves out..

Couple ideas on the medical billing....yes a payment plan is a option....the local hospital in my area has a plan that if you can't afford to pay the bill they will assist in helping to either pay it off or pay a major portion of it. I forget what they call it it is some kind of payment assitance thing they have. Maybe the hospital has something like that? Wouldn't hurt to ask them!
