@Mommy2B: I'm a sterilizer girl. I have the Avent microwave sterilizer and I run it once a day for pacifiers/nipples/breastpump parts.

I wash everything with 7th generation soap (it's perfume-free and very mild) and throw it in the microwave for 3 minutes. It doesn't cost a lot of money and it makes a great shower gift.

Regarding bottles- I have Medela/Avent/Playtex but I hardly use them because I'm still breastfeeding. I'm worried about the BPA but the Medela's I have are leaky, so I mostly use Avent and Playtex.

Avent has a BPA free bottle I think- it works just like the Playtex with the liners. If you sign up for a registry with babies r us in the store you will get a gift box with a free avent bottle.

@Anna: we are using silicone pacifiers from Avent, I thought they were BPA free because they're silicone. But I couldn't find them on the list.

wondering how Eveline is doing.... Hope everything went smooth and baby-girl and her are doing good!

I use the Medela micorwave bags to sterlize my bottles every couple of days. Medela bottles did leak for me and I just figured out my bottle nipples were going bad on the Medela bottles and I bought new ones and they are just fine. Jay likes them the best.

Twila thanks for sharing the twins ultra sound pictures. :star:

Hey ladies, we're back from the hospital. Everything went great. I was apparently 6cm dilated and 80% effaced when I got to the hospital on Friday at 6am. They put me on pitocin and around 9 or 930am (don't remember the times, my doula wrote everything down though) my doc broke my water. Contractions hit me hard but there was no time for an epidural. I'm a vocalizing kinda girl and was humming so loud that I'm hoarse today. I started pushing a little before 11am (she was born at 11:03am) and baby's heartrate went down to about 60 and didn't come back up. I pushed and pushed and eventually my doc cut me all the way to my rectum (TMI I know) and I felt her head emerge. She came out blue and non responsive but her heart rate was apparently just fine, she got some oxygen and recovered very quickly. It was an amazing birth and definetely worth fighting for. I went through all that pain and now I have my beautiful little daughter. I love my doula, she was great and helped a lot. My husband let her do her thing and just kinda chimed in with her. They were both just amazing. Everybody worked together just so amazingly and I love all the staff at the nursing station at my hospital.

Her name is Allison Emily, she is 20 inches long and weighed 8lbs 3oz.

The only time I freaked out was when I suddenly had a cramp in my right leg during pushing...ooohhh was I screaming but that was right before she was born and luckily the cramp stopped somewhat.

All in all, I'm glad I went for a VBAC and I'm even happier that it worked out so great.

Here's a pic of Allie. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x244/Ev...on/DSC04529.jpg

Hey, I can't sleep since I can't seem to get comfortable so just wanted to share a couple of pictures from my 3D ultrasound session today. I got tons of pics and video and she was totally cooperative but I guess that had to do with her being hungry.

Congrats Eveline, what a beautiful little girl! I'm glad everything went well and that you were able to skip another C/S, the cut usually heals nicely and way faster than tears so hopefully you will recover from that quick too. How is Adam taking the new addition to the family?

Mommy2B, priceless pics! Thanks for sharing.

And as usual...all VJ babies are just too cute :star:

Twila: are your twins in the same sac, or different ones? I wonder if they are identical?

I asked the peri and he said they have different placentas, but he doesn't know if they are identical or fraternal. Basically, if we find out they are each of a different sex, then they are definitely fraternal. Otherwise, we will have to wait until they are born and have the placentas tested. He said they could be identical twins that split real early.

Eveline: Congrats on the birth and the baby girl Allison is adorable!
