Carshel- I seem to always find Beechnut in Publix all around Georgia.

But I have to read allllll labels because Nasim has a horrible allergy to all milk products, so I

use them alot because they have more of a milk-free selection than Gerber

Carolyn- Woww!! Any day now.. so exciting... now that school is back in, I hope you are

traveling with your hospital bag in the trunk. lol.

Seems like everyone is expecting. Even here in Georgia I see pregnant women everywhere, you guys are

taking over.

Carshel-

I noticed our target doesn't have Beech nut, but I have found it at the other places.

Wow, can't wait to see all the new babies coming soon!!!

I start back at work tomorrow and have been crying all evening. I HATE to leave Declan, especially now that all the trouble is over and we were just settling down. And to top it off, my husband was laid off on Friday :(

aw, I'm sorry (for your crying and your husband's job situation). :((F)

Nannygirl - It was SOOOOO difficult. On one hand, it was good to see returning clients and meet a new one .... but I missed Declan terribly. And I was stressing over hubby's job situation, which did not help matters. My mom did bring him by at lunchtime which was nice. Next week will be even harder I suspect, because my mom will be gone and he will be at daycare :(

Hi girls!

I have a question for y'all. We are expecting our baby at the beginning of march '09 if everything goes well.

And since my parents are not the youngest ones anymore it will be very unlikely they will be able to come over to meet their youngest grandchild. So I want to go there somewhere between oct and dec '09 and let them meet their youngest grandchild.

My question is...

How does it work to travel with a baby that is about 8/9 months old? Does the baby have to be in my passport? If so, I have a Dutch passport, how and where do I arrange that? I would like him/her to have the Dutch nationality too. What else do I need to know about traveling to Europe with a baby? Any advise is welcome!!!

Thanks girls!

Lynn

We just took Jaylyn to Jamaica. She was 3 months old and she did fine. We got her passport done 2 weeks after she was born. Her birth certificate was ready after 2 weeks. We had her picture done at Walgreen's. We got the passport back in 2 weeks. Make sure both of you go to fill out the passport form together. They need both parents. Bring enough diapers, clothes and formula if the plane is delayed. Our plan was delayed both ways. She had her own seat but you could get a lap seat. We have to fly again when she is 8 months to FL or Bahamas for a wedding.

Oh one thing she pooped like no other on the plane going to Jamaica and the aisle was jammed with food and drink carts. So I took out my diaper changing pad and changed her in the car seat. I put the diapers and wipes in a big zip lock bag and the outfit in another zip lock bag. I bought shout wipes and got the stains out of her teddy bear and car seat. I also brought handy wipes for my hands.

I hope this helps.

Just back from a midwife appointment. I am getting weekly NST's--the baby is squirming around like crazy & small contractions are now showing up on the strip--yeah! I'm feeling very ready to meet this little one!

I asked the midwife if she could tell how big the baby is...from feeling my belly she said that I've probably got a long but not very chubby baby--she estimated somewhere in the 6-10 to 7 pound range right now. I didn't ask, but I don't think they will do a ultrasound unless I go way over my due date.

I have been feeling a bit crampy--not serious contractions, but my whole body aches. It is so easy to overdo it right now--all I want to do is take naps, but that just makes the nightly insomnia worse. I'm sure it's my body's way of preparing for breastfeeding.

Interesting reading about the transition to cereal...lots of stuff to look forward to!

I had an ultra sound at 38 and 39 weeks. They estimated her to be 6 pounds 11 ounces they were right on. Someone said they were having a planed C-section. Don't be to scared. If it is planed it is not that bad. I remember the nurse holding me and calming me down when they gave me the meds in my back. It was done and over with for me in 2 hours and after 1/2 hour I was totally out of it. I had no idea my husband went to the nursery to give her a bath and take her foot prints. I went in for surgery at 8am and she was out by 9:04a.m. I think it would of been harder on me if I had pushed for hours and she did not come out. I am glad my doc figured out that I had to small of pevlic bone to push her out. And she was a little on the small side to. They had to vacuum her out to but I real was to out of it to know they were doing it. I only know about it because hubby watch the whole surgery. Please don't worry to much.

One Luv

Jax

Kavi started rice cereal a day or two before turning 4 months. Not to be a downer but it didn't effect him waking up at night. :P He still didn't sleep through every night, just some nights. I once asked about rice starch formula when Kavi was having reflux and our pediatrician didn't want us to do that or put rice cereal in the bottle. It's funny how Drs are so different but I guess they also have to think about each individual baby before deciding.

Kavi still only drinks 6 oz at a time and so he drinks between 30-36 oz a day and his Dr said he wanted us to give him closer to only 26 oz and give more baby food.I thought that was weird. He already was getting 2 times a day baby food with that 30-36oz. I know he needs more baby food but what's the harm of having even 30 oz a day. Kavi weighs 17lbs so it's not like he is so big and has to be careful of his weight gain. So I am not sure about all that.

That sounds like Kaila!!! I had to push her up to 8 ozs and she gets i know this is going to sound like a lot because it is but about 40 ozs a day! She is just SO hungry...she actually graps her bottle and won't let go until the last drop!! I think tomorrow i am going to start some cereal as well...How much cereal do you ladies use??

Hey Shauna it sounds like Jaylyn yesterday she was all of a sudden hungry. She was grasping the bottle and holding it herself. She ate 5oz for the first time. I am winging her off nursing during the hours I work. So she will only get nursed when I don't work. I won't be pumping my lunch hour is to short only 1/2 hour and thats the only adult time I get. Yesterday though She ate like 5 oz every hour and 1/2. Today she is back to normal. Maybe it was a lot of car riding and going new places yesterday. Hubbies sis left today so we had a very tiring week.

Eveline--good news! 5 cm at your last checkup sounds great--let's hope you have more progress before your next check-up!

I'm a high school teacher and we're back to work tomorrow, too. Seems sort of silly to go for just one week (I'm due Thursday and I told them I will be there as long as I haven't had the baby), but in a way it is nice to be able to meet the guy who will be subbing for me and help him with curriculum planning, etc. I just don't want to take any unpaid days off without the baby unless it is necessary. Plus, I'm a little bored and this will help the time pass faster!

Any day now...

Oh my your brave. I am a teacher too and stopped teaching at 39 weeks. Thank goodness because I had her 4 days later. Plus I couldn't fit through the aisle of chairs. I applaud you I could of never done that. Wow u guys start early. Do you have air condition? We start next week and I have no ac in one of my class rooms, no windows, and no out side vents. Then at the other school I have one of the only two mobile trailers with AC. I am just thinking about how it would be being pregnant during the heat. You all have to be strong woman.

Going back to work is really hard but it IS easier when you feel good about who is caring for baby so if Declan can stay home with Daddy it might just be perfect for a while :)

hey, where is JP???

Oh my goodness Sarah this picture is so cute.

I know what u gals are talking about. I started crying today because its my last free week with Jay until winter break. My husband said calm down we have a great babysitter and she will only be there 5 hours a day and only 2 hours on Friday. Plus next week hubby will have her because he starts college a week later than I do. He will have her most of the day and I will do nights when he goes to work or if he has homework to get done.

Question has anyone started to go back to the gym. I really want to go but they don't watch babies until they are 6 months old.

Eveline a couple more days to go. How exciting. And also JP and Caroyln. Oh I can't wait to see the new baby pics.

Oh Shauna we only have a few pics of Jamaica camera problems. I have a lot when hubbies sis came. I will put them on myspace and facebook in a little while. Oh yeah and now our camera is in Jamaica soon come ugh.

First day back at work--no students yet--they won't be there for 3 weeks! So, I'm just sitting in on meetings and helping prepare for the coming school year. I really like my school--it's a small charter high school and we have a tight-knit staff of about 15 people, so it's fine to be there.

As long as I haven't gone into labor yet, I will work this week, Monday-Friday (9-4). I don't think I'll work any more next week, but who knows? I can use the hours so that I can get paid more than 60% during my Short Term Disability.

On a happy note: we got the e-mail approving the lifting of conditions on my husband's permanent residency today! One less thing to worry about!

No changes in my body yet...when am I going to have this baby?
