Eveline--I was wondering about you--I'm glad you posted!

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you this weekend! Maybe some long walks, spicy food (how about a nice Indian curry or some Thai food?) and pineapple for dessert? Followed, of course by a romantic, albeit somewhat awkward, night of making love to your sweetie (L) . I don't know about the Castor Oil...if nothing else it is supposed to be really good for you (great anti-aging properties)!

Have fun and best of luck on your labor-stimulating weekend!

Haha, you crack me up. It is getting kinda boring these days and I think my DH has lost interest by now. He will do it for the sake of his good night sleep though. I will let you guys know whenever we're heading to the hospital.

Kavi started rice cereal a day or two before turning 4 months. Not to be a downer but it didn't effect him waking up at night. :P He still didn't sleep through every night, just some nights. I once asked about rice starch formula when Kavi was having reflux and our pediatrician didn't want us to do that or put rice cereal in the bottle. It's funny how Drs are so different but I guess they also have to think about each individual baby before deciding.

Kavi still only drinks 6 oz at a time and so he drinks between 30-36 oz a day and his Dr said he wanted us to give him closer to only 26 oz and give more baby food.I thought that was weird. He already was getting 2 times a day baby food with that 30-36oz. I know he needs more baby food but what's the harm of having even 30 oz a day. Kavi weighs 17lbs so it's not like he is so big and has to be careful of his weight gain. So I am not sure about all that.

That sounds like Kaila!!! I had to push her up to 8 ozs and she gets i know this is going to sound like a lot because it is but about 40 ozs a day! She is just SO hungry...she actually graps her bottle and won't let go until the last drop!! I think tomorrow i am going to start some cereal as well...How much cereal do you ladies use??

Im shocked to see that almost everyone here had a csection, I guess ill consider myself lucky that I pushed out a 9lb posterior baby...I honestly dont know how it happened after looking at him...i pushed for 2 hours, but, even with the epidural not working, it didnt hurt that bad...again Ill consider myself lucky! lol

JP im really crossing my fingers that Taleen turns around...My nephew turned a few days before water breaking, and my sis in law was able to deliver vaginally with no probs..

Eveline, I hope some of those tricks get things going..i tried em all and zaid was still a week late!

Chrissy, My girlfriend got pregnant in a week with her first, then for the 2nd tried for 6 months with no success, the minute they stopped trying, she was pregnant, so, try not to stress yourself over it, when your body is ready, it will happen..Are you hoping for a girl this time? :) good luck!!

congrats to the newly pregnant! wishing you a smooth and easy pregnancy!

christina, I bet EVERYONE will be thrilled to see Kavi in India..My cousin is engaged to a man from India, who is a US citizen but they have decided to marry there first then here next year..All my family wil be going there in december for it! i wish i could go but 3 plane tickets to india would run a lil high for us!

zaid did well on cereal! he ate it and had no problems pooping today (THANK GOD!) And im pretty sure his colic is completely gone now, he rarely cries and when he does its a bratty pouty " i wanna be held" cry

KS - It's nice to read that Zaid's colic is gone. You must be so relieved!!!

Well, Declan actually slept 7 hours straight 2 nights ago. I was so excited and hopeful that it was the start of a new trend, especially since I go back to work on Monday. Unfortunately, last night, he went down at 10 and woke up at 1:30 :( Oh well, I'll keep hoping!!!

Eveline-I am getting excited for you! I'm sorry labor hasn't started yet though. I hope things go smoothly however they have to happen and I can't wait to see pictures of your baby girl.

A friend of mine I had talked about before being due around the same time as you, well she was due last weekend and she is still pregnant. It's baby #2, she had a girl a couple years ago and now is having a boy, opposite of you hehe. Anyway, with her first baby she went into labor 2 weeks before her due date so I bet she is frustrated that she is overdue with the 2nd baby! Her baby is getting big so they were supposed to induce but had to cancel due to too many mom's giving birth at the hospital! We are hoping to hear she had the baby soon, without having to be induced.

Autumnchik-Here's hoping he'll go longer at night before waking! Kavi did good for 4 nights straight but then last night woke up at 12:30 after going to sleep at 9:30pm. Then again at 5:30. Maybe he's going through a growth spurt?

Well at first they suggest just a tablespoon or so, and not too thick. That's to see how they handle it. If they seem to handle it well you can give more and more at each time. On the boxes I have(Beechnut) it says a serving size is 1/4 cup mixed with 1/4-1/2 cup water or formula. I'd mix in formula at first b/c it might help them with the taste, although Kavi didn't seem to mind the new tastes. First I just gave it to him once a day(but I am sure twice is ok unless it causes pooping problems), then after a couple weeks twice a day. After he had rice cereal a few days I tried oatmeal too. He liked both.

If you remember me asking questions about the feedings, I felt like it was so much info to process. haha. It's a whole new stage! But then once I started feeding him it became normal feeling and I got more confident in what I was doing. Looking at Beechnut's website helped a lot, and Gerber too. But we use Beechnut b/c we get really good coupons for it.

-We used spoon, it can be messy but it's help them start to learn how to eat from a spoon. If Kaila keeps pushing the food out of her mouth, due to a reflex that could still be present, then you might want to wait a couple more days and then try again. But maybe she'll eat it well!

We feed Ayman cereal by spoon. We only give him one scoop at a time. Last night he was grabbing my hand and shoving the spoon into his mouth....I guess I was not fast enough. He ate all of it last night and then a bottle a couple hours later...he's such a lil' piggy.

We travelled with Michael to Morocco when he was just 3 months old and then returned when he was 4 1/2 months old. Both ways he was a super traveller, no crying except for good reason (hungry, change me, sleepy). Now that he's older and very active it'll be much more challenging, and when we go back he'll probably be 19 months and with a 3 month old baby sister. That will be a very interesting trip!

So I'd actually recommend flying with a baby from 3 to 8 months old; once they're crawling keeping them calm for a 5+ hour flight will be much more difficult.

We gave zaid cereal by the spoon, and i didnt really measure anything, i just put a bit of cereal and added formula till it was runny...YES it is very messy..I feed him nakey and with a bib that can go in the dishwasher..the cover on his high chair wipes clean too so its nice! he loves the cereal...Im only doing it once a day and in the morning..hes still 2.5 weeks shy of 4 months, but hes such a big chunky boy, i felt like he was ready...his tongue naturally was pushing outwards the first day but he pretty much has the hang of it now, the only problem is, in between bites, he shoves his fist in his mouth so, he has to have a bath after cereal now..

Rclouse...Michaels birthday is comin up here...do you guys have big 1ST birthday plans?

When we go to India Kavi will be between 10-12 months old and there will probably be a 2-3 hour flight from here to NY or NJ and then a 14-16 hour flight straight to India.:help: There's no avoiding it though, just gotta do it.

Kelly-Yes everyone in India is dying to meet Kavi!! And they are happy to meet me too. I still haven't met Sujeet's family in person. Just talked on phone and through Sujeet.

Oh my! I had no idea you hadnt met them!! What a nice trip this is going to be...Is Sujeet speaking his native language to Kavi at home? Sofyan speak arabic to zaid and i speak english, and im PRAYING he picks up both here and there...it worked with all his cousins here, so, hopefully, i will have a 3 yr old bilingual child! Its so important to me that zaid will be able to speak to his gram and grampa aunts, uncles, and cousins in jordan..

Here's my update for today.

I'm 5cm dilated, not effaced, cervix is anterior (from posterior) and baby's head is still high. I had my membranes stripped again and took 2tbsp. of castor oil about one hour ago. I'm waiting for something to kick in.
