Hey ladies,

After they were born, did your babies tend to wake on the same schedule that they were kicking in the womb? My husband is convinced that they do...he is always praising our little one for sleeping at the "right time"

I'm getting a bit antsy for this baby to be born...

From my experience, newborns sleep a whole lot and mostly wake up to eat, get diaper changed, and then fall back asleep. They usually want to eat every 2-4 hours. Everything I've read says that they wake up no matter if it's night or day to eat and then after a little while they start understanding the difference between night time and day time. When I was pregnant, Kavi kicked me a lot late at night but after he was born he didn't stay awake for long periods no matter what time of day.

My cousin suggested taken him outside when he was first born. She swore it would give him a sense of day and night time. So I did. We shopped and took many walks when he was only 3 days old and have since then. I don't know if their sleep schedule stays after their born cuz I swear when zaid was inside me I don't think he ever slept

Back from the appt. It went ok, I mean Kavi cried right when the shots were given but stopped within 30 secs as soon as I picked him up and was tired for a nap so he fell asleep in the car on the way home. He's napping nicely in his crib right now. He weighs 16lbs 15oz, so about 17 lbs. He gained 3lbs in 2 months. His length is 27.5 inches. They said his weight is average and his length is above avg. So he's a tall one! Everything checked out fine.

Wow he is one tall boy!! So happy to hear all is well with him!!!

Hi everyone! We are back and I am enjoying my a.c. We survived Jamaica with no ac for a week that was enough for me. I forgot our camara charger so we had to get a disposal camara. Then my husband forgot our digital camra so now we have to wait for his cousin to fed ex it back to us. As they say in Jamaica soon come. My husband sis will be her this week so we have a busy week ahead. Then I will be starting work soon :crying: .

JP and Eveline any day now. Wow how time flies. Eveline maybe you will have your little one on my birthday. All the best it looks like one more week if that. Can't wait to see pics for you guys.

Parivar it sounds like Kavi is doing well. I love the car ride home after the shots. That is when the little one falls asleep. We usually go out for lunch and dinner at that time when she sleeps.

My C-section was not bad at all cause it was planned. I can't imagine going through labor and then having a C-section. I went in at 8am and she was out with in an hour. The pregnancy was bad.

When will be having another? Hmm right now I don't want another one any time soon. I would be happy with just her. Hubby wants 3 more ugh. I don't think so especially cause I have to have C-sections. If we were better finacialy maybe 2 to 3 years. I told hubby when he graduates in 3 1/2 years then we will decided when we have 2 good jobs. I am thinking 4 more years until we have our next and then I am done. I will be to old for anymore after that.

Oh I agree that the first month is the hardest. No sleep at all. Jay has only slept more than 7 hours twice. It is usually only 4 hours at a time at night. She is usually up by 7am or 8am and ready to play. I am wondering how tired I will be when I return to work and hubby goes back to school.

Everyone have a great rest of their week!

Welcome back!! i can't wait to see the pics...

WOOOW I guess I am quite spoiled..Zaid has slept thru the nite since he was a day old..By that i mean he sleeps about 7 hours wakes up to eat and goes immediately back down for another 3-4 hours..sleep has never been a problem, actually (knockin on wood) there has yet to be a night where he didnt want to sleep, he also doesnt cry in the night either..

I guess, to be honest, his colic got him on that schedule..he would cry non stop all the day that by the time 7pm rolled aorund he had completely exhausted himself..

i guess i am spoiled as well...Kaila has been sleeping throught the night since i think she was a month!! Don't ask me how i did it because i do not know....

i would say Kaila slept all the except when i ate or at night...when she was born i felt like she was always sleeping and of course she would wake at night to eat...i would agree with the other ladies babies in the begining pretty much are on their own sleep cycle

Ayman's Dr said to start the rice cereal since he is 15 pounds at 3 1/2 months and he is constantly hungry too. He said to start off putting it in his bottle, but we've given it to him by spoon too. We shall see how it goes. I just worry about him getting constipated.

I agree with everyone. The babies have their own time schedule when they are born. Jaylyn just woke up to be feed or to be changed or to take a bath. Like I said its 3 to 4 hours at night now sometimes 2 hours. I still fall asleep feeding her and I sleep in my rocking chair with her. We are trying to give her one bottle now to get her ready for the babysitter in a couple weeks and my hubby will have her all alone one week. She is not eating much I think. Only 4 oz at a time. Maybe we will be able to start rice ceral in a couple weeks when we go to the doctor in September. Maybe then I will get some sleep.

We are starting Jaylyn soon in mommy and baby swim leasons. Or just to get her use to water. Do you ladies have swim programs in your area for babies? It is free until she is 8 months old and then we have to pay. I miss swimming so much. We haven't gone all summer sense she was born.

Kavi started rice cereal a day or two before turning 4 months. Not to be a downer but it didn't effect him waking up at night. :P He still didn't sleep through every night, just some nights. I once asked about rice starch formula when Kavi was having reflux and our pediatrician didn't want us to do that or put rice cereal in the bottle. It's funny how Drs are so different but I guess they also have to think about each individual baby before deciding.

Kavi still only drinks 6 oz at a time and so he drinks between 30-36 oz a day and his Dr said he wanted us to give him closer to only 26 oz and give more baby food.I thought that was weird. He already was getting 2 times a day baby food with that 30-36oz. I know he needs more baby food but what's the harm of having even 30 oz a day. Kavi weighs 17lbs so it's not like he is so big and has to be careful of his weight gain. So I am not sure about all that.
