@ KS - Thanks! Declan is an Irish name. I heard it years ago and loved it. I ran it by my husband before we even got pregnant and he loved it too. It is pronounced Deck-lan or Deck-lin (not sure how to type this out). Of course, most people mess it up and call him DEEEEE- clan, with the emphasis on the Dee. Oh well :) Do people mess up Zaid's pronounciation?

Stina and Kel - sorry about your loss.

Autumn - glad to hear Declan is doing better. My sister used to have a Senegal Parrot named Declan. People mispronounce Ayman's name all the time. It's pronounced like Aaa-men, emphasis on the A, but people say it like Eye-men.

Nanny I hope the lotion clears it right up quickly.

Kelly-I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. (F) I must have missed that post.

Kavi's name is mispronounced too. It's pronounced kind of like kah-vee and kuh-vee, but ppl say Kay-vEye, or Kah-Veye. Our last name is very hard for people to say haha. Even for my close friends it took them a little while to get it completely right.

I was right on how I pronounced your baby's names in my head, yay! I think dealing with Hindi now and earlier in life Spanish, plus visajourney, has helped me learn more about pronunciations around the world in different languages.

@ KS - So sorry to hear about your loss. And I hope the doc gets to the bottom of the medical problems. I had my gallbladder out several years ago and the pain was excruciating beforehand.

I'm guilty of mispronouncing Zaid's name ... although I got Kavi and Ayman right!!! LOL

I found something online that I got a kick out of and thought I'd share because I know you will all possibly relate, especially if you stay at home with the baby.

For those formula feeding moms, how often does your baby poop? It seems that since we have been using formula more (still giving some breastmilk, but my supply is waaaay low so the majority is formula) ... Declan maybe poops once a day (I am used to him pooping 3-4 times a day when he was drinking mostly breastmilk).

Usually, my son poops once a day. Sometimes a little more. Some babies will only poop every other day.

Breastmilk is digested much faster than formula, so it is not unusual for breastfed babies to poop more frequently. Some even poop with every feed.

I'm glad that Declan is doing so well after his surgery.

That's about normal although Ayman is pooping more now that he is on Soy.

Eveline-If you are out there reading this, please let us know how you are feeling as you approach your due date!

A lot of us care about you even if you don't want to post here. (L)

I am sure we could all write a few things that we feel we don't relate to with some in here, yet there would also be a list of what we do relate to. There seems to always be someone close to our situation. Whether it be the baby's weight, progress, needs, breastfeeding, etc we can find at least one person usually who really has a lot in common. I can think of certain things that make my own situation different than some others' situation. But I shouldn't let that stop me from coming here completely. We're are all different. I think some may have been insulted at the insinuation that soy milk, tylenol, etc was the way to do everything in baby corner. I was a little insulted since I know how hard I tried to breastfeed but I also know chnst is a very nice person and so are you so I didn't let it continue to make me feel bad. We should remember we have in common motherhood, and not focus on opinions if we are keeping our babies healthy.

I mean look at autumnchik and all she is going through and Declan, we should support her even if we don't agree with every opinion everyone posts. And she also has tried so hard to successfully breastfeed and is still trying. And even those who didn't try for very long or at all for various reasons, shouldn't feel inadequate as moms. And those who have breastfed for a longer time, that is great! No one is against breastfeeding.

I just had to say that. I know maybe some people won't change their minds but maybe they will! I think people shouldn't stop posting completely because someone has different opinions than them, someone will have your opinion too even if not every body does. I feel that I like all of you ladies even if I don't agree with everything written! (F) And if a subject comes up where I feel I might be of help, I try to help.

Stina - Beautifully said :) I too have been wondering how Eveline is doing and hoping that she returns to post. I also hope that Chnst and others continue to post, because I value everyone's opinions and support. One of the things that helped keep me sane (well, sanish) when Declan was in the hospital was posting here and reading words of support. This thread is great!!!
