Adam had cradle cap, too. I used a cradle cap lotion from "Gentle Naturals". You can get it at Walmart or Target and it worked - for us - within a week. The cradle cap never came back.

I am in serious baby accumulation mode (is this nesting? I haven't started major cleaning)...

Did you new moms get and/or use one of those infant first aid/baby health kits (with nail clippers, bulb syringe, hair brush, thermometer, etc?) Should I get the kit, or buy baby health care items separately? What kind of baby health items will I actually use?

Thanks in advance,

Carolyn

no, i didnt, i think the kits are overpriced! the hospital gave me a brush and comb and a nasal aspirator...i got the safety first clippers which i think were like 2.99$ and i got a good thermometer...i dont think the ones that come in the kits are real good, or at least from what ive seen...

Your almost there!! 34 weeks!! Home stretch!! i started nesting at that time too! U just dont feel like u have everythig u need...lol...

@Carolyn: you don't need a kit. The hospital wil give you a nasal aspirator. These are great! i got another one for my shower for the diaper bag but that thing doesn't suck as good as the one from the hospital.

I bought a hairbrush, and scissors (for nails) seperatly. I got a thermometer for my shower.

Hi ladies, happy Wednesday!

Nanny, I hope baby Kaila is feeling better after her doctor's visit. :)

So I think I've started that phase of "baby accumulation mode". I've been researching like crazy all types of baby products, reading reviews and consumer reports. One thing that is driving me crazy is strollers, there are so many options! I like the idea of travel systems but do not like how the majority look, very bulky. In any case, I originally wanted to get the ever popular bugaboo but even though I can technically afford it, I cannot bring myself to spend that obscene amount of money on a stroller. So I think I've narrowed it down to two (I am leaning towards the first one but haven't found enough reviews). Please advice which one you like better. Thanks!

I also gave Kavi baby Tylenol. The ped told me to after his shots.

Ditto her Tylenol was recommended by the ped to give .4 to every 4 to 6 hours. It helped us with the shots because she had about 3 outburst at home from one shot. Her leg was red for 4 days too.

Eveline - Crossing fingers for you that you get to have a VBAC :)

Chnst and KS - Whoa, you have some BIG babies!!!! And tall too :)

I am looking forward to seeing how much Declan has grown (but not looking forward to the shots part of the 2 month visit). Last I weighed him at a mother's group I go to, he was 10 pounds 3 oz (this was at 7 weeks). He had gained 3 pounds 5 oz. since birth. He seems fairly tall to me though .. my tall skinny baby. He has already outgrown some of his 0-3 months clothes lengthwise, but not widthwise....

 We have a similar situation...I know we have so much in common haha. He started outgrowing things length wise but width wise they are baggy! Same thing still going on even though he is 5 months. He wears some 6 months clothes for the length, but still fits in some 3 months clothes if they have enough length. Oh, at 8 or so weeks Kavi weighed 10lbs 7oz, pretty close!! At 4 months(just shy of 4 mos at his appt) he was 14lbs.

Ladies did your ped tell you that your boys were to small at 2 months? My ped was worried Jaylyn did not weigh enough for her age she was also 10pounds and was 22 inches. We have to go back for a 3 month appointment because of her worrying about her weight and height. She will then get another shot that they did not order in time. Yippee. Can't wait 2 more weeks. right. I have been worrying about this.

back from the dr.'s we were there for an hour...ugh...Kaila is 13 pounds 8 ounces and 23 and 5/8ths inches long and 16 inch head....she is growing a great rate....the down side...she has horrible craddle ####### as i call is i have been trying to get rid of it forver so she gave me some medicated shampoo for her...and she has to go see a dermatoligist her face breaks out when i am not using the cortazone on her and i can only use it a limited time...i have used SO many lotions nothing works...so the Dr. thinks she is going to be very sensitive to things and when i introduce foods i have to do it very very slowly so we go in a couple of weeks to see that dr... and she wasn't too bad for the shots cried a little but got over it....

Shauna I am glad the shots went well for Kaila. I hope the derm will find a solution for Kaila's sensitive skin.

Thanks for helping me with the sling. I am a big girl so I hope it fits.

Well, ladies...I started work yesterday. It was a little better than I expected, but there are definitely moments that feel awful. The only thing that makes it bearable is knowing that my son is with his grandma. Otherwise, I don't believe I could leave him at all.

Hope everyone is well (L)

Like the ladies said you will get the nasal squeezer, a brush, a comb at the hospital. We bought a ear thermometer and first clippers for the nails. At the hospital they recommended you chew off the babies nails at first. I was grossed out but they said that way would not hurt her. They also gave us baby oil, lotion, wash, Vaseline, q-tips, wipes, a few diapers, a pacifier, and a little washing bowl.

They both look nice mommy2be. I think it depends how much you want to spend. I see a big price different between the 2. :star:

I have a bigger bulker one that I got from target with frogs on it from safety first and it works just fine too. It folds nice in our Rav4 too. We take it everywhere. I think it depends how big your car is to because in my husbands car our stroller might be a pain to get in and out.
