nannygirl, good luck with the shots today...aside from the scream he let out as the nurse gave him the shots, it really wasnt too bad, i had hubby go with me and i just sat in the back seat with him and gave him a bottle on the way home...he fell asleep and slept from 7pm til 2am, then he ate and went back to sleep from 230am til 7am..do u have someone going with you? if not, i would recommend it!!

yes i have someone going with me!! How many shots did he get?? Kaila is getting 3....2 stuck in her leg...and 1 orally...

Haha, ticking bomb. Adam never had poop problems until he got antibiotics at 5 months of age. It is completely normal - as you said - for breastfed babies not to poop for a while but I don't know if eight days might be a little bit too long. He is too little for laxatives. maybe, if you want to - and I'm no doctor - you can give him some diluted prune juice but I don't know if that would interfere with his feeding schedule. He still is fairly young. Sorry, can't really give you any advice on that one.

ok problem solved. He woke up at 4am and after a half hour of grunting he took the dump of his life. After that he was all smiley and happy and slept for 6hours straight!

I am looking forward to seeing how much Declan has grown (but not looking forward to the shots part of the 2 month visit). Last I weighed him at a mother's group I go to, he was 10 pounds 3 oz (this was at 7 weeks). He had gained 3 pounds 5 oz. since birth. He seems fairly tall to me though .. my tall skinny baby. He has already outgrown some of his 0-3 months clothes lengthwise, but not widthwise....

We have a similar situation...I know we have so much in common haha. He started outgrowing things length wise but width wise they are baggy! Same thing still going on even though he is 5 months. He wears some 6 months clothes for the length, but still fits in some 3 months clothes if they have enough length. Oh, at 8 or so weeks Kavi weighed 10lbs 7oz, pretty close!! At 4 months(just shy of 4 mos at his appt) he was 14lbs.

JP....any doc i have talked to recommends it in low doses..when Ms Taleen is here im sure yours will tell u the same...it has lifted all pain my lil guy is feeling from the shots...he slept thru the nite and woke up smiling

chnst, if ben still didnt go, i would call the ped... mine recommended Karo corn syrup, and within minutes it was an explosion.!!!

JP - I have given Ayman both Tylenol and Motrin for Infants. They are both perfectly fine to give in small doese. My pediatrician even recommended it 1 hour before shots. My cousin and her husband are both nurses and said it is fine as well. It's not going to harm your baby in small doses.

Kelly - I'm glad to hear things went better for you and Zaid than it did for us. Your baby sounds like a dream. I soooo wish my child would sleep thru the night and be happy once in a while. He's happy in the mornings when I drop him off, but that's it. He was cranky all weekend too. Sometimes I feel like nothing makes him happy except eating, but then again, as soon as you take it away to burp, he gets mad...ughh. I'm ready for him to grow out of this phase!

carrie, my OB told me at my 6 week checkup that the rule of thumb for colic is 3 months or 20lbs..so, either way, ayman is totally almost there...are u still on nutramigen? zaid is getting better day by day..i hope ayman starts to do the same...

he is still ok today with the shots, and he got 5 vaccines....2 in each leg and one oral...

im extremely tired the past few days, and im not sure why...i jst dont feel "right" a little shaky, loss of appetite, and constantly feeling like im gonna pass out...a few more days and ill call my GP to maybe have some blood work done..

back from the dr.'s we were there for an hour...ugh...Kaila is 13 pounds 8 ounces and 23 and 5/8ths inches long and 16 inch head....she is growing a great rate....the down side...she has horrible craddle ####### as i call is i have been trying to get rid of it forver so she gave me some medicated shampoo for her...and she has to go see a dermatoligist her face breaks out when i am not using the cortazone on her and i can only use it a limited time...i have used SO many lotions nothing works...so the Dr. thinks she is going to be very sensitive to things and when i introduce foods i have to do it very very slowly so we go in a couple of weeks to see that dr... and she wasn't too bad for the shots cried a little but got over it....

Well, ladies...I started work yesterday. It was a little better than I expected, but there are definitely moments that feel awful. The only thing that makes it bearable is knowing that my son is with his grandma. Otherwise, I don't believe I could leave him at all.

Dylan had cradle cap...i used baby oil, as lotions make it worse. Have you tried baby oil?
