"Sleeping through the night" for breastfed babies means 5hours, not much longer. THey digest bm way too fast to be keeping their bloodsugars on a normal level so they have to eat more frequently. Last night, all I got was 4 hours and that is with a 1year old teether.

i very much agree with this!! the hospital i was at doesn't hand out binkies anymore...so thank goodness i brought a pack with me they saved my sleep...

Hi all,

I really liked your registry suggestions--the lists will help me get ready for my little one!

FWIW, I just had my baby shower this past weekend and only ONE person bought anything off of my registry!! I now have a ton of books, cozy blankets and lots of cute tiny clothes, but very little of the practical stuff.

As for the big things, I know I will be able to borrow lots of them from family and friends. Other things I have been frequenting Craigslist for: a bouncy seat (found a new one for $12), a swing, a glider chair, etc.

I also found some stuff at garage sales: baby tub, toys (many are new!), more books...

I am focusing this week on big essentials: a crib mattress and a car seat (the one I registered for, by Chicco, was recalled and I'm so disappointed). Any suggestions?

i would go for a travel system....i have this one and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! the stroller is so easy to use it is like puching nothing!! the front wheel doesn't get stuck like on the four wheel strollers and it is so easy to fold and turns so easy!!

This is the same exact stroller I want! But I have not been able to find any stores that have them , only online. Is it a one hand open/close stroller?

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

A pacifier, aka those things you put in a babies mouth to suck on.

My mom called them Soothers.

Really ours had one. I was like should I open or should I not. I heard that pacifers could upset nurseying babies. But it was a life saver and did not effect her feedings.

I have to tell you about sleeping the swing is wonderful now. She doesn't like her bouncy chair anymore. She just passes out in that swing listening to her classical music.

a binky is a pacifier

THe pictue of the 3 boys is so cute. Jaylyn has a jungle/safari room just like the boys but her crib is all monkeys. She loves looking at all the animals around her room.

O.K. I think I am changing my mind on the sling. I found one with UV protection which is great for Jamaica.

@Eveline: homestretch girl! how are you feeling?? Are you still nursing Adam? I was wondering- don't they say that nipple stimulation could trigger labor? Is nursing this late in pregnancy ok?

@ks: oooh he is cute and he looks so much bigger than his cousins!

I don't know who wrote about it , but I was really surprised about giving infants tylenol.

As far as I know infants younger than 6 months shouldn't take tylenol and no Motrin for babies younger than 12 months.

Really? Then why do they sell it?

I'm doing good. I have had terrible back pain today, don't know if baby is engaging or if it's just a little exhaustion. I'm better now and my braxton hicks have almost finally stopped. I had tons of them today and I still get one every now and then but earlier I couldn't even get up without contracting, argh. Other than that I feel good. I went to a babyshower yesterday and got all dressed up...Mine will be on the 13th by the way. I'm all excited but I have to put more stuff on my registry. invitations will go out tomorrow.

I'm not nursing anymore. Adam weaned himself off about 12 weeks ago. He suddenly slept three nights straight through and never asked for a boobie again. I didn't offer it to him but I wouldn't have said no either but he just didn't care. I was wondering about the nipple stimulation too but apparently, if you have no history of preterm labor or an irritable uterus and as long as you feel ok, it is ok to nurse while being in full blown preggo mode.

I will start Evening primrose oil orally and 5W next week to ripen my cervix, also ... ummm... lots of relations with my husband were recommended and then all we can do is hope. I started drinking red raspberry leaf tea and hopefully that will tone my uterus and help in some way. Still hoping for a VBAC and my doc is still 'two thumps up'.
