I love seeing all your baby pics and hearing about your trials those first few months!

Just about two more months...

One little question: do any of you swaddle your baby?

she liked her legs swaddled but her arms had to be free....so i just gave up..i think part of it was because when she was born the put her under the heating thing and she was naked and i think like to stretch out and when they swaddled her she had gotten so used to not be wrapped up....

i didn't want to go back to work either...so i am going to go back to school online..i'm happy i am able to stay at home with her!!

Shauna that is wonderful! I am just glad I planned my pregnancy perfectly. She came with only 6 weeks left in the school year. So I don't have to start work until August 18th. Babysitting is no joke though so expensive its going to cost 600 dollars a month. How much is normal?

Shauna what are you going back to school for?

I have been able to come on for awhile. Jaylyn goes for her 2 month appointment next week. I can't believe it and she has gotten huge. I wouldn't be suprised if she has not gained 6 pounds from birth. Breastfeeding now is going wonderful. She refuses a bottle and likes nursing. It is hard to go out now. My mom babysat her and said i can't get her to sleep I fed her 4 ounces. I laughed and said you jugs aren't full. I feed her a little and she was asleep. Wondering if my mom will help again she was really worn out by her. My husband heard her colic scream for the first time and freaked out. He is usually at work when this happens. I wonder when that period stops. She does it only once a week thank goodness. Besdies that I have been takening her on lots of walks in her stroller. Love it.

O.K. I am going to try to catch up before she wakes up.

Much Love

One little question: do any of you swaddle your baby?

Kavi was swaddled for the first almost 4 months. Only in the past few weeks he's been able to get to sleep at night without being swaddled.

He loved being wrapped up and wouldn't sleep well without it. I am relieved though that he finally can sleep with out it b/c for awhile I though he'd have to be swaddled at night forever. :P He still loves having something near him while sleeping that he can touch his head to. I use the positioners and put it near his head and he loves turning towards them while sleeping. (he sometimes sleeps on his sides now, big boy!)

Kavi sleeps through the night about half the days of the week and gets up still the other days to eat but then falls back asleep immediately after. He doesn't go to "bed" until like 10:30 or 11pm and that is when he will sleep the longer stretch.

You are so lucky. It seems no matter what I do, my child will not sleep more than 4 hours. Ayman woke up from a nap at 5p, ate and we kept him up until he ate again at 9p. At 9p he ate a 6oz bottle WITH cereal, stayed up until 11p and STILL woke up at 3:30a to eat again....such a piggy.

Congratulations! I'm a twin and it's great. I think it's impossibly hard for the parents but great when you're the twin. :) good luck!

I didn't know that they did ultrasounds so early... I guess I have a lot to learn...

Kavi is teething, hopefully it won't be much longer til his 2 bottom teeth are out. It's making him very irritable. :(

Hi everyone,

I read through lots of the posts but may have skipped a few pages  so I apologize if I ask a question that has already been answered.

You guys are so helpful of one another. It's great to see, especially since off topic can be kind of harsh sometimes.

How soon did you guys make pregnancy test appointments with your doctors after a positive hpt? I'm hoping this "sticks" and don't want to jinx anything. I read somewhere that some doctors like to wait until you have missed 2 periods.

thanks!

heather

Heather congrats!!

Yes I'd say baby corner is a safe haven in off topic. :)

Well, with my positive PG test, I made an appt for a blood test to see the hormone levels the next day and then my first OB appt was scheduled for about 1 month later.

My ob/gyn's office likes to schedule a pregnancy confirmation appointment as soon as possible. Then...they like you to be about 6.5 weeks for an u/s, followed by the first official prenatal appointment a week later. My doctor also had me do all the bloodwork the same day as my u/s (today for me) as to get a good snapshot of what is going on at that precise time.
