all this talk of epidurals being soo great makes me jealous....lol...why didnt mine work? even after taking it out and retrying, the pain never subsided, oh well i guess,im alive, and it wasnt that bad!!

I use the playtex drop ins...THEY ARE WONDERFUL and yes BPA free

does anyone here have experience with a colic baby? Im pretty sure zaid has it, i am calling the doctors office later, but about 4-5 days out of the week from ohh...5pm til 8 or 9pm, he screams, like he is being abused, for no reason...and wont surrender...we will get him in the tub (cuz he loves it) or take a walk to try and calm him, and he will , but only for 5 mins or so...it breaks my heart because the ENTIRE rest of the day hes such a happy calm baby...always smiling, and such...any input is appreciated

sounds like the "witching" hours....i just read about that in my About Baby magazine i got today....in the article is says that it is totally normal for this to happy....to try and put the baby down for more frequent naps so that he won't get overtired....and take baby outside or a differnt room.....

Oh boy, I have heartburn like crazy. Haven't had that since I ate a whole pound of cellery when I was preggo with Adam. I forgot how painful and uncomfortable it can get. I'm glad Eric is here to watch Adam, I just want to curl up on the couch and not get up :crying: .

@Chnst: We do have a name but I won't tell. Just so much. We're going to stick with "A" names. I just don't feel like telling people this time. Only my MIL knows the name and ERic and I of course but not even my parents know. I hope babygirl will show rather in eight than nine weeks. The sooner the better, although I really like being pregnant.

my poor little guy is sick. :crying: Hubby came home with a cold a week ago and we tried everything to keep the ship sterile and prevent Ben from catching it but he's been sneezing and coughing since yesterday. I called the ped office and they want to check him out this afternoon.

I have been using the booger sucker all night and he's screaming. I can't stand to see him like this. :(

Well, it looks like we may be expecting again. I took a pregnancy test on a hunch last night and it came back positive. I feel uncertain about it because I haven't had a post-partum menstrual period after my twins, but I do think I know when I ovulated. So I'm guessing I'm about 6 weeks along and the baby will be due at the end of January.

I'll keep you posted. And Haneul and Iseul are doing great. Walking all over the place--even trying to run sometimes. They are a joy and I am home with them all summer as of today!

ks-It does sound like what I have heard about colic. I have read all different techniques to try to help them out, not sure what really works. Things like running a vacuum to give them white noise that blocks out any over-stimulation.

chnst-Hoping Ben gets better soon!!

Kristi-Wow, congrats!! Good to hear how the twins are. :)

Drew got his 2 month vaccinations today and was SO brave...he cried really hard for about 2 minutes, then snuggled into his Mommy's chest real close and fell asleep (L)

He actually helped me to deal with it better by needing my comfort and calming down so quickly. I didn't fall apart like I expected...

Eveline: I had wicked heartburn for most of my pregnancy. It is no joke!

so Ben is driving me nuts today.... the pedi said that his lungs sound fine and as long as his temperature stays down he will only need the booger sucker, saline spray and a good humidifier. Thank God. He's super fuzzy, all he wants is nurse. My nipples are raw and I don't think I can let hubby ever touch them again.

well I guess I'd bite my own arm off to make the little guy happy. He's actually not sooo little anymore- he weighs over 12lbs! OMG. The doctor said that's about average for a 3 month old (Ben is 5 weeks) but I'm kinda happy that he's so strong and big, that'll hopefully help him over his cold sooner.

@tracy: good girl! I'm proud of you. and Drew. :star:

@KJandSH:congrats!

@Eveline: I had heartburn too, I sometimes thought I'd spit fire. did you take something for it?

@stina: how's little Kavi? did he get over the reaction he had with his last shots?

My heartburn really wasn't that big of a deal. I took two tums and drank some milk that made it better. I had two of those little mexican mangoes and I guess the acid in them made me get heartburn. I usually don't get it so it took me some time to figure out what was wrong. We first thought I came down with a stomach bug again and DH had already told me that he didn't want me to go to Chick Fil A anymore (that is where I got it the first time I think). Well, I'm free to go still since it was only the mangoes causing some discomfort.

@Chnst: Is your MIL already there? I hope she'll get sick too and be all miserable. At least you have a good excuse to nurse all the time. I hated when ADam was congested cause he would actually bite down on my nipples. It did't hurt when he was all little but when he had teeth and a stuffy nose...OUCH. Ben is only one lb short of Adam's 5 week weight. He was 13lbs and our nurse was like "I think that is the biggest 5week old I've ever seen" :wow: . It evens out the older they get. I bet he's in clothes for 6month olds by now...

KJandSH: Congratulations on your pregnancy. HOw about twins again? I love when Adam is trying to run. It's so cute but his legs are just not fast enough yet and he usually falls but still...adorable.

Eveline--You are funny. :) Twins again! Actually, it is true that your chances of having twins goes up after having them. All of the twins in my family were just one set though and then the moms went on to have singletons, so I'm guessing that is what will happen here. Still, I am going to ask my OB to please give me an ultrasound before 20 weeks this time so if it is twins I won't find out so late. It sounds like your pregnancy is going well. Hope you are getting some footrubs and R and R time.

Gosh all of these babies are growing up so quickly. I can't believe that Kavi is 4 months and I totally missed the birth of Drew. Congrats!

KJ: I can't believe you are still breastfeeding, that is awesome. My grandma had one boy, then twins, then my mom and then twins again. How's that for a one in a million chance. I could not imagine raising twin babies. As fun as it is, Adam is a handful and one more of that "sort" would drive me completely nuts. I guess you kinda grow into it, huh?

Hi all,

I pigged out on salty/spicy food last night and I'm really regretting it. Any advice for suddenly swollen feet and ankles? I'm trying to drink LOTS of water and keep my feet elevated, but it just seems to be getting worse.

fyi, I went to my parents' house and checked my blood pressure and it was good.

welcome to the last trimester of pregnancy! sounds like you are doing what you should as far as drinking and elevating but cankles are unfortunately just often the way it goes. My coworkers often asked to see my feet and ankles so they could get a good laugh!
