Well, we had the anatomy ultrsound today and the baby did not cooperate :( ARGH!!!! I am so frustrated and more disappointed than I thought I would be. The baby kept his or her legs closed the entire time. Didn't move at all, but of course when we went to the doctor's appointment afterward, the doc listened to the heartbeat and said the baby was kicking and moving all over the place!!! Stubborn baby :)

I hope I get another ultrasound. Do they typically offer another one later on, or was this it?

Aww, sorry!

I am pretty sure you should be able to get another u/s. Sometimes it has to do with your insurance too, how many will they cover, etc. But even if your office won't do one, there are places that will do "entertainment" ultrasounds just to find the gender. It might cost like $60 though...so first ask your Dr's office. But if they say no, you can get one somehow, it might just cost money!

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

I think my aunt had about 10-15 ultrasounds with her first baby. She did "entertainment" ones as well but she's a nurse on a labor & delivery unit so the other nurses would give her ultrasounds for fun when she was pregnant. Hopefully you get to find out the sex soon. What names do you have picked out for boys or girls?

We are fairly set on Declan James for a boy. Still tossing around names for girls ... we like Anya a lot, also Anastasia or Tatiana. I love the name Larissa but hubby doesn't :( I tend to like Slavic names a lot for girls.

How connected are you to the doc? If you explain the money situation, will the doc maybe give you a bunch of sample packs? I had a doctor who did that for me in the past, gave me 6 months worth of samples when I was a poor college student.

Mari;yn I located a site that will give discounted or coupon for co-pay of the bc you are talking of.. you might wish to check it out I do not know how much it will be but worth checking out... FEMCONUSA

if that doesnt work for you .. check out many of the womens clinics that are out there... manytimes if you say you cant afford what is prescribed they can help.

@Marylin: I can't even tell you how heartbroken I am to read what had happened to you.

My mother in law went through 4 miscarriages 2 of them in late pregnancy. She eventually decided to adopt children and 2 years after adopting a boy and a girl she found out that she was pregnant again. She was terrified of having to go through another miscarriage, but she says she somehow felt that she would carry this baby full term.

9 months later she gave birth to a healthy boy - my husband .

I can only imagine what you must go through right now, but please have faith, don't give up on yourself and know that we all are here to support you and pray for you.

I think you mean Planned Parenthood. They give out birth control for cheap. But as long as you have health insurance you should be fine. When I used to take it it was $10 per month. Or my sister would just bring me a 6 months supply (she's a doc and can write prescriptions).

Marilyn, I am very sorry for you. Give yourself some time and relax...

Which home tests did you guys prefer? And how soon did you take them? :)

Happy New Year to all of you!

Anna

nope.. i was talking about the health department.. its the family planing.. and they look at both incomes.. yours and ur DH's.. and since my hubby makes under 2K a month i got my BC for $5 a month!! that was for the "yasmin".. but the "yaz" was about $7 a month so i took the cheaper one.. but in the end i didnt needed it cuz i was preggers.. but every state is different do check with ur health dept.. plus all check ups are under $20 too.. planned parenthood is more expensive..
