Congratulations all 'almost done preggos'. Hope everything goes well.

@Chnst: I think you are about my size (5'7 and around 130lbs) from what I've seen in pictures and I'm a size 3. I guess they measured it a little big. It's important that the sling with baby in it doesn't go any lower than your belly button. http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x244/Ev...urrent=fd29.jpg If it's too low your back will start hurting or the shoulder part will slide down.

ughhhhh... I'm 5'10 thats why she recommended a size 4. But it just feels wrong and the shoulder part kept falling down. Now I have to return it to the store, and that place is 40 miles away. :girlwerewolf2xn:

that's a really cute picture by the way!

Amirah had her shots on tuesday - she cried a lot at the appointment (her face was about the color of a plum) but shook it off real quick. but she has also been running a low fever since then and I can totally tell her little legs are sore. she cries when I have to move them for a diaper change and stuff. I just gave her baby tylenol yesterday and today and it really works, right about the 4 hour mark she starts getting fussy again just as it wears off. I am not a big fan of medicines for babies but I am also not a big fan of a baby in pain and its obviously helping her.

About the feeding: my son was eating cereals at 4 months and by 6 or 7 months he was eating at least 2 'meals' a day as well as about 4 8 oz bottles. he was a big boy, almost 10 lbs at birth and about 21 by 6 months. he would eat anyting, and still does at the age of 12 :) NOT picky or finicky at all. My new daughter is 7 months now and really doesnt care much at all about eating food. she is VERY tuned in when we are eating but when its time for her dinner she is pretty apathetic. I've found a couple of things she definitely likes more than others (organic peas and brown rice dinner is a fave) and occasionally she is really into it and will actually lean toward the spoon but most of the time I feel like the dinner is more to humor me than for her benefit. but she is a LOT smaller than my boy was (16 pounds at 7 months) so I sometimes think maybe she really just isnt as hungry as he was. anyway at the doctor yesterday I was talking to Dr. and nurse about it and they both were like as long as her iron is fine (which they pricked hr finger and tested) then she just might be a late blooming eater.... they said some babies are 10 or 11 months before they show any actual enthusiasm. so I guess we will just stick to our evening meal for now until she lets me know she is ready for more :)

Thanks for the congrats ladies!

Nanny, I don't have any names picked out yet, I was waiting to find out the sex of the baby before I started narrowing it down because when I first tried to think of names, I got frustrated. there were no names I liked. I want my daughter to have a not-so common name but not too weird or out there.

My SO doesn't know yet, I'm holding out until I go down to see him next week, I want to see the look on his face.. although I suspect he secretly wanted a girl even though he said it doesn't matter to him, he will be happy with either.

Sara-Thanks for more feeding tips!

JessnGeorges-Hope things go very well!

Last night was rough, Kavi's fever went up as the evening went on. I had been taking armpit readings but when it got to near 101 I decided I better take rectal temps to get an accurate one. It spiked at 102 but didn't stay up thankfully. It was 101.3-101.8 for a lot of the evening. The Tylenol is a lifesaver though because it did help his temp go down. I also wiped him down with a wet cloth and that really helped to lower his temp. I set my alarm to wake up at 2:20am for another dose of Tylenol, and when I took his temp it was only 99.7 so it was getting better even when the Tylenol was wearing off. I gave him another dose, fed him, etc and at 6am he woke up and his fever was gone, temp was 98.1. He's sleeping now since 7:30am and hopefully the fever will be gone for good today.

Kavi does ok at the appointments. At Wednesday's, he was all smiles until the moment the needles went in, then his facial expression changed to "OUCH!!!" and he cried a lot. He was sleepy too, he almost fell asleep while we were waiting at the Dr's office so that probably made him even more unhappy to be poked. By the time we left the office he wasn't crying anymore. But later in the day he started moaning a little bit due to feeling yucky from the fever probably and his legs being a little sore. It was a lot easier for him after his 2 month shots than his 4 month shots.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Ohhh, I hate shot day. They took Adam's blood from his arm on his 12 month checkup. That was really painful for both of us. I held him down and he didn't like it at all but he was a trooper about it. I won't let them do that anymore though. There are easier ways to test for anemia than taking blood out of his arm. At the wic office all it takes is a finger ####### and they are done and have reading immediately. I'm glad to see that Kavi is doing better. Who knows what bothered him.

@Chnst: I'm so sorry about your sling. Here's their official sizing chart http://www.hotslings.com/sizing and according to that you are a Size 3. Maybe you can call and send it back and they'll exchange it. Would be too bad for you to go all the way there again.

@sara: Adam is just like your son. He doesn't care what goes in his mouth as long as it's edible. I hope that babygirl will be just as easy as he is. I started ADam on solids at 6months but he was still exclusively breastfed and I must say I didn't really stick with the feeding for a while and took it rather easy. I think three meals a day he had when he was 11 months old and then we kept it up and he kinda weaned off the breast at the same time. He won't go to bed without his two cups of chocolate milk though. The world stops for him when he sees that milk come out of the microwave. He just sits down on the kitchen floor and smiles in anticipation, too cute.
